  • Access Derby for CDP Server

    I am working on a project that requires accessing the Derby database behind a CDP Backup Server. From what limited research I've been able to complete, I have found that it is possible to access Derby databases over TCP, but I'm at a complete loss for this. I'm looking to connect via PHP eventually, but first I need to know if this is at all possible with an out-of-the-box CDP server. Answers are, as always, appreciated. Thanks!

    Are their any known issues with storing employee photos in AD provided you store them in the compliant sizes and formats? Is there a critical mass that you break or could corrupt AD databases? I'm trying to understand some of the server teams deep concerns with our intent to store employee photos in AD... they fear it will corrupt the database or replication issues will occur globally, etc. We're about a 3,000 employee company.

  • advise on pointing reporting service data sources

    It's possible I am unable to resolve this because I have been spoiled in other DEV environments where I had one database server for each reporting server. I need some advise on how to point a single SQL Server reporting server to multiple database servers. These databases correspond to DEV, TEST and QA environments. This proxy is acting like a router that filters and redirects traffic to the main server and switch for failover if the main one is down. We want to find an alternative to this proxy because one single entry point is not enough. I'm creating a api with an index, controllers and model. Should I start the connection in the index and then pass it to all the other files, start the connection at the top of all files and call it as a global in functions as needed or start and end the connection in every function?

  • Use Dropbox as Offsite Enterprise Backup

    For my small company, I'm using Tomahawk Backup as the enterprise offshore solution, as it covers files, databases and Exchange (brick level). The problem is the price... it costs more than 10x the price of Dropbox (and others) for the same space (120GB), and doesn't have de-duplication. So I'm wondering: assuming there is no problem with backing up files only (ie copying the exchange store file and the db files to the Dropbox folder), would Dropbox be suitable as the offsite backup solution? Queries may be run on either of the two servers because they are both production sites, so the replication can't just work one way. It doesn't have to be in real-time, just fairly accurate so people don't notice a difference when they get switched to a different server.

  • How do I completely uninstall mySQL on XP, including the root password?

    All I need is to be able to log in using root, but have forgotten the password. None of the steps to reset i found online work (i don't even have some of the executables mentioned such as mysql-nt.exe) However I have no problem deleting all databases (i have scripts) and intallations and starting completely from scratch... but uninstalling and deleting directories doesn't work.   • Fancybox - ASP.NET button not working

    I've just determined using Firebug that when Fancybox window is created it actually takes all of my ASP.NET controls (contained in DIV tag) and puts them outside FORM tag. So I guess this is the reason why then ASP.NET button doesn't do anything - it is placed outside form. So, do you have any suggestions how I can prevent this (or make that ASP.NET button work), other than using completely different modal dialog? Thanks in advance.

    I'm referencing a WiX extension in a WiX library project. This WiX library project is itself referenced by my main WiX MSI project. Why does the main project have to also reference the WiX extension, even though it doesn't directly need it? I'd like to keep my wixlib's as self-contained as possible, so that other projects that use them don't need to know about their inner workings. I'm using latest stable release of WiX (3.0.x).

    I have a Tree object in my Flex code. It's width is 100%, and it is contained by a Panel with width=200. I am using a custom itemrenderer that extends TreeItemRenderer. I need the text in each node to word wrap if it's too big (as happens often). I have tried label.wordWrap = true; in my item renderer without any luck. Any other suggestions?

    Hello, In RFCs there are references to quoted-string now I understand that this means a string contained in quotes. However, I'm unable to find the definition of what exactly is a valid quoted string. /"[^"]"/ = a correctly quoted string. /'[^']'/ = is this also a correctly quoted string? In other words, are both ' and " allowed as quotes when an RFC specifies quoted-string? Bonus points: In what document is this specified?

  • Any way to disable horizontal scroll for FlowLayoutPanel in AutoScroll mode?

    I need a System.Windows.Forms.FlowLayoutPanel that only auto scrolls vertically. WrapContents is false, and I want it to work like a vertical stack panel. I can't find a way to disable the horizontal scroll. I've googled it, can't find a usable solution so far. The alternative is to abandon the FlowLayoutPanel, and try another control. What acts somewhat like a WPF stack panel but that expands and shrinks vertically with the contained controls?

    I just downloaded the Java SDK/JDK versions 5 and 6, and I just need the development tools (and some libraries) contained in the installation packages, I don't need to perform an installation and that's why I was only looking for a zip package at first (for Windows there is only an exe installation file), I only need to extract the contents of the installation packages, I think this can be done from the command line but so far I haven't found how to do this (I already considered WinRar and 7-Zip, but I really want to find how to do it without using these tools) Have you done this before and how?
