  • How can I add custome column on NewForm.aspx on SharePoint 2007

    There is a custome column name "Tag" in my Discussion List. How can I add a textbox to init "Tag" column when I new one. As we know, NewForm.aspx only show Subjet, Body textbox as default. But only show Body text when reply. How can i custome NewForm.aspx to show Subject, Tag,Body textbox when I new one and only show Body textbox when reply. Thanks

  • Exchange Transport Service Started but not working

    Good day, Here is the problem : We are hosting a Microsoft Exchange Server. Everything working fine until recently, where the mail transport seems to go wrong. We almost have to restart the service every morning. The thing is that the transport service is started, but the mail are not delivered to the users and senders to our server get a delayed delivery notification. When we restart the service, all the mail is then delivered to the users and we're good to go for a day or two. Things I've noticed : The store service is growing to around 6 Gb of used RAM, and the w3wp.exe service is hanging around 700mb RAM. Is there a way to schedule a restart of the transport role every 4 hours or something while I'm solving the issue so I don't have to worry when I leave for the week-end? And most of all...does anyone have any idea on how to solve this issue? Thanks, Philippe

When I try : telnet office.mydomain.ca 25 -- 220 MYSERVER.mydomain.local Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Fri, 7 May 2010 10:34:36 -0400 I can change my SMTP Banner in the Sonicwall, but I don't know what to write, if there is a specific syntax or what can be the consequence if it doesn't work.     I'm trying to write a DASL filter to combine three queries: Get all mail with no category and no flag. ("urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office#Keywords" IS NULL AND "urn:schemas:httpmail:messageflag" IS NULL) Get all mail that is categorized as "Ryan" and flagged with a red "Today" flag. Don't know how to write this one. Get all mail that is uncategorized and flagged with a red "Today" flag. Don't know how to write this one. Once I have the individual queries, I will combine and OR them. I am stuck on how to filter the flag value.

  • Mapi session exceeds maximum count of type objtMessage

    one client (it's allways the same client) has often problems with mapi sessions killed by the exchange server. The Application Eventlog on the exchange logs eventid 9646 with source MSExchangeIS: Die MAPI-Sitzung '/o=xx/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=xxxx' hat die maximal zulässige Anzahl von 250 Objekten vom Typ 'objtMessage' überschritten. The client has no eventlogs logged about this error. I looked for installed Outlook Add-Ins and found the default add-ins from microsoft, an adobe pdf add-in (which I deactivated because it's not needed) and an "Octopus" plugin from telekom. Octopus is a CTI-application that connects to Outlook. My guess is, that Octopus (or its add-in) causes this error because this client has over 1100 contacts. My question is: how can I find out, which application/add-in causes this problem? Edit: I already looked at eventid.net but nothing helped. Edit2: Exchange-Cache-Mode is not used nor are there any shared folders / mailboxes open.

  • Sending from alternative addresses in Exchange

    One of the most frequent requests I get from users with Exchange, is to be able to send from one of their alternative email addresses, that is one of the addreses there account is configured with in Exchange, but that is not their primary address. Unfortuantely as far as I am aware Microsoft have not yet come up with a solution to this. I've used a number of hacks to get round this, sepearate accounts with POP3 access, Using the from field in outlook, but each have there draw back. What have you used in these situations to allow the use of these alternative addresses?

  • How do you create a SQL query in Excel 2007 with a dynamic date range?

    I am trying to create a reporting spreadsheet that can print reports for a given time period. The query below works, but when I try to use a "?" parameter in place of the date, I get an error after selecting a cell containing my date. If I use single quotes ('?') I get a conversion from string to date/time failure, if I don't (?) I get a syntax error near @p1. Eventually I will need either a start and end date or a formula adding a month or shift to the starting date/time to filter the data down to important information. The query was built in Microsoft Query. SELECT FloatTable.DateAndTime, TagTable.TagName FROM master.dbo.FloatTable FloatTable, master.dbo.TagTable TagTable WHERE FloatTable.TagIndex = TagTable.TagIndex AND ((FloatTable.DateAndTime={ts '2012-06-01 00:00:00'})) Any assistance would be much appreciated.   • Format Excel cells to display as '##:##:##'

    I'm trying to format cells in Excel so that they display the total duration of phone calls as hh:mm:ss, but Excel is giving me errors. Sometimes durations are only mm:ss (49:10), or even just ss (35), and I need them by default to change to 00:49:10 and 00:00:35 respectivly. However, when I select 'Custom' on the 'Number' tab when formatting the cells and enter either 00:00:00 or ##:##:##, Excel tells me - Microsoft Office Excel cannot use the number format you typed. Also, hh:mm:ss will not work for me, as I'm dealing in durations, not times. Is anyone able to tell me how do format this? Thanks.

  • How do I deploy building blocks (quick parts) for Microsoft Outlook 2007?

    I want to deploy some building blocks for Microsoft Outlook 2007. Microsoft has put up a poor solution at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA102086531033.aspx#4 that asks you to save a template. That solution would require you to distribute that template to all the clients. An optimal solution would allow you to put the template containing the building blocks somewhere on the network and simply use the ”Workgroup building blocks path” group policy setting for shared paths in Microsoft Office 2007. Sadly, Outlook doesn’t respect that policy. Also, the described solution mentioned in the article above doesn’t work. Step 4 requests you to save the template as a Word Template after first asking you to save it as an Outlook Template. It seems that they copy&pasted the steps from the Word article and forgot to check whether it worked (and adjust the steps accordingly). Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for how to distribute the building blocks without distributing NormalEmail.dotm (which will overwrite the clients’ own building blocks each time it is updated).   • MS Access 2003: Can data disappear from records and how do I test for this and prevent it?

    Problem and about the database: Data from a record in Access 2003 database has disappeared. This database has 1 backend and 3 frontends, multiple users and is hosted on Citrix. Within this database, we have records of all clients served, ranging in the 1000s. Background info: The form for client data entry is set up with various subforms, including both a "programs enrolled" subform and a "services" subform. A client can be enrolled in multiple programs. Once enrolled in a program, services can be entered for that program area using the services subform. There are multiple fields in the services subform, one of which is a drop-down field allowing you to choose from the programs a client has been enrolled in (the list is updated for that client whenever he is enrolled in a new program). The problem details: For one specific record and one specific program area, the program has disappeared from the "programs enrolled" subform and all of the related services have disappeared from the "services" subform for a period of 3 months of data entry. However, other programs and services for this record did not disappear. Questions: Is the disappearance of data a common Access 2003 problem? Are there tests in place that can be run to see if data is disappearing and catch that data? If so, what are they? If there is specific code involved, what is it? What can be done to prevent the disappearing of data (other than using a different database)?

  • Outlook 2010 Retrieving and restricting appointments programmatically causing recurrences to be incl

    I wrote a winforms app that uses Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook to retrieve and restrict appointments based upon the date range entered by a user. This worked fine with Outlook 2007 installed, however now that some users have updated to Outlook 2010 the appointment retrieval is pulling back incorrect appointments along with the correct ones falling within the specified date range. The additional incorrect appointments being retrieved always appear to be recurring appointments. I was wondering if this is a known bug and if so what exactly is happening that is causing these additional recurring appointments to come in? I'd rather not have to throw in a workaround where I step through the items after they have been restricted and remove the extra ones, when this functionality works fine with 2007. Note: I've not recompiled or updated any code when experiencing this issue, just running the old program. This is the spot in my code where appointments are being restricted.   • MS Access: Why is ADODB.Recordset.BatchUpdate so much slower than Application.ImportXML?

    I'm trying to run the code below to insert a whole lot of records (from a file with a weird file format) into my Access 2003 database from VBA. After many, many experiments, this code is the fastest I've been able to come up with: it does 10000 records in about 15 seconds on my machine. At least 14.5 of those seconds (ie. almost all the time) is in the single call to UpdateBatch. I've read elsewhere that the JET engine doesn't support UpdateBatch. So maybe there's a better way to do it. Now, I would just think the JET engine is plain slow, but that can't be it. After generating the 'testy' table with the code below, I right clicked it, picked Export, and saved it as XML. Then I right clicked, picked Import, and reloaded the XML. Total time to import the XML file? Less than one second, ie. at least 15x faster. Surely there's an efficient way to insert data into Access that doesn't require writing a temp file?   • MS Office Excel Ribbon - Cannot change/hide Editing group in Home tab

    I have a .net addin for Excel. The addin creates the Ribbon UI for Excel 2007 and re-purposes some existing commands such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Sort etc. For Cut, Copy and Paste I am just overriding their OnAction value to call my own procedure when the buttons are clicked. But for Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc commands the case is a little different. When either of the Sort, Sort Asc or Sort Desc buttons are clicked, I want to get notified and then call the default functionality. This was possible in Excel 2003 commandsbars by calling the Execute() method on the CommandBarControl. In Excel 2007, there is a ExecuteMso() method to programmatically click a ribbon element but when the OnAction is overridden, this ExecuteMso() method just executes my own procedure and not the default functionality of that button. So I thought that I will HIDE the Sort buttons in the "Editing" group in Home tab and add my own Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc buttons to it. The buttons will call into my procedure first from where I will call the default behavior. Now the problem is that I am unable to change/hide the Editing group (idMso="GroupEditing"). Is this built-in group not editable?     I'm working on a VB6 application using an Access database. The application writes messages to a log table from time to time. Several instances of the application may be running simultaneously and to distinguish them they each have their own run number. The run number is deduced from the log table thus... Would locking the recordset do any good (the row in the record set doesn't match any particular row in the database)?

    I'm running MOSS 2007 and have created a new site under an existing one using sitemanager.aspx. I've done this on two machines. on one of those everything works correctly, while on the other some of the menu items for pages in the site seem to be gone. Also on the faulty site I get "Access denied" when I click "Version history". The permissions on both sites should be the same. I attach a screenshot of how the menus differ from each other. The one to the right (the faulty one) is unfortunately not in English but the items appearing on it are "Open link in a new window", "Copy", "Edit page settings" and "Version history".     This being my freshman year as an MVP, I had a realization that I perhaps should be embarrassed hasn’t happened sooner. The realization comes much like the iconic M&Ms commercial where the M&Ms run into Santa and exclaim, “He does exist!” My personal realization arguably has a greater implication: Microsoft does listen.
