• SSL with nginx on subdomain not working

  I'm using nginx to serve three sites: example1.com (which redirects to www.example1.com), example2.com (which redirects to www.example2.com), and a subdomain of example2.com, call it sub.example2.com. This all works fine without SSL. I recently got SSL certs (from StartSSL), one for www.example1.com, one for www.example2.com, and one for sub.example2.com. I got them set up and everything seems to work (I'm using SNI to make all this work on a single IP address), except for sub.example2.com. I can still access it fine over non-SSL, but on SSL I just get a timeout. If I go directly to my server's IP address, I get served the SSL certificate for sub.example2.com, so I know nginx is loading the certificate properly...but somehow it doesn't seem to be listening for sub.example2.com on port 443, even though I told it to. I'm running nginx 1.4.2 on Debian 6 (squeeze); here's my config for sub.example2.com (the other domains have similar configs): server { server_name sub.example2.com; listen 80; listen 443 ssl; ssl_certificate /etc/nginx/ssl/sub.example2.com/server-unified.crt; ssl_certificate_key /etc/nginx/ssl/sub.example2.com/server.key; root /srv/www/sub.example2.com; } Does anything look amiss? I don't know if it matters, but StartSSL lists the base domain as a subject alternative name (SAN); not sure if that would somehow pose problems, if both subdomains list the same SAN.

  I have recently upgraded from karmic to lucid (plain ubuntu using gnome). Everything worked fine, but the characters now aren't anti-aliased any more, as you can appreciate from the screenshot: This is what I tried to fix the situation, unluckily without succeeding: Used the regular option pane from System-Preference-Appearance-Font (smoothing, hinting...) Edited the .fonts.conf file Disinstalling (and then re-installing) the mstcorefont package Changing the default Sans font to a font of my liking (e.g. Tahoma) from the abovementioned Appearance options My ubuntu installation is quite standard, with the typical add-ons one might wish for usability. • Digest authentication not working: endless cycles of asking for user/pass

  I'm trying to setup my SVN repository for access remotely. In doing so I have some settings under Apache's dav_svn.conf file. When navigating to hostname/svn, or using Tortoise to do the same it prompts for the user name and password as expected. However, when entering the correct user name and pass that were set in the password file linked to under AuthUserFile it just asks for the credentials again. I think I'm probably missing something simple? The server is running Ubuntu Server 9.10. Accessing SVN remotely does currently work if the authentication lines of dav_svn.conf are commented out. I am trying to load the data in Select element using Ajax, for that i am using jQuery's Ajax functions. • Is Private Bytes >> Working Set normal?

  OK, this may sound weird, but here goes. There are 2 computers, A (Pentium D) and B (Quad Core) with almost the same amount of RAM running Windows XP. If I run the same code on both computers, the allocated private bytes in A never goes down resulting in a crash later on. In B it looks like the private bytes is constantly deallocated and everything looks fine. In both computers, the working set is deallocated and allocated similarly. Could this be an issue with manifests or DLLs (system)? I'm clueless. Also, I compiled the executable on A and ran it on B and it worked. Note: I observed the utilized memory with Process Explorer. Question: During execution (where we have several allocations and deallocations) is it normal for the number of private bytes to be much bigger (1.5 GB vs 70 MB) than the working set?

Unfortunately my browser throws up "Safari can’t open the page “http://myserverip:8181/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding." I've checked the port with netstat and nmap, and it's open and listening. I've added a rule to allow traffic on 8181 in iptables, but no joy. Is there anything obvious I could be missing? • Logging Apparently Not Working - Can't Set Configure Replication

  I'm using a tutorial to set up a master (single) slave setup. When I run the command show master status; I get Empty set (0.00 sec). I have done a lot of research and believe that the log file I have set up isn't being used properly. The master is a Windows server, and I am administering it through workbench. The log file (log-bin.log) I have configured in the options exists, and is accessible by 'System'. But when I open it as a text file it doesn't have any data. So I'm assuming it's not getting used properly. How can I get the logging happening so I can finish setting up this replication? Edit: Purely for reference here is the tutorial. I followed all the steps and double checked everything up until show master status.

• "Show hidden files" option is not working

  OK, I know this is the very basic thing that goes with Windows, but I am asking it here in search of answer. I put my pendrive and it autoruns. This changed the show hidden files option off, I mean I am not able to see my hidden files as it is not applying the changes. What is the registry file that has modified? I have scanned my computer using 4 antivirus programs. BitDefender found and deleted something in temperary folder. The rest didn't showed anything. I have encountered this problem a few more times but this time I don't want to format it ;-)

• Firefox 3.5.6 Uninstaller not working

  Hi all, I want to uninstall Firefox 3.5.6 in favor of Opera 10.10. However, I've went into Control Panel Add or Remove Programs and tried clicking Remove from there, but nothing happens. I go into the Program Files for FIrefox and find the Uninstaller folder and click the helper.exe found in there. Still, nothing happens. Is there some possible way to uninstall Firefox without screwing up the rest of my computer? Computer is a EMACHINES T2482: http://emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T2482 RAM has been upgraded to 1 GB PC3200 DDR, GPU has been upgraded to 128MB GeForce 6200, HDD has been upgraded to 160 GB, PSU has been upgraded to 350W and Floppy and DVD Reader have been disconnected from mobo and power. OS is XP Pro SP3

• Perl not working with Nginx via fastcgi, cannot decipher error logs

  Im running CentOS 6.2, Nginx 1.2.3 following these Linode Instructions to get Perl to work with Nginx I've done everything upto the point of testing an actual Perl file. When I do this the browser says: The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. And my Nginx error-log shows the following: 2012/09/02 22:09:58 [error] 20772#0: *1 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 192.168.1.102, server: localhost, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:8999", host: "192.168.1.10:81" Im stuck at this point. Im not sure if it matters but I also have spawn-fcgi and php-fpm to serve up PHP files on this site, but that should be 100% seperate from the perl-fastcgi setup, different port, etc.. How can I troubleshoot this?

• MySQL 5.5.9 Query Cache not working.

  I am running MySQL 5.5.9 x86_64 RPM as downloaded from mysql.com. Running on CentOS 5.5 Xen DomU. I have enabled the Query_cache however MySQL NEVER uses it. All of my tables are InnoDB. Why is the Qcache never hit? • Two identical fiber optic broadband lines working as one

  I have been trying to find an answer to this, but all I can find is hobbyists trying to connect their Linksys devices to get some magic out of them. I am looking for a way I could combine two 100Mbit fiber optic lines into a single connection for our office. I assume it involves some Cisco learning or something similar. Do I need to configure some big router to load-balance the NATing in some way? I assume that many of you have done something similar and hope someone could share their knowledge or at least provide me some tips on how to do this.

• Shared printer stops working on clients but not host computer

  I have a Brother MFC-7420 USB all-in-one laser printer. It is plugin via USB to my Windows 7 x64 machine. I have it shared to a few users on my home network. My wife's laptop running Vista x64 can normally print fine to the printer. However it seems that every day or two, when she pushes print on a something it just sits in her laptop's print queue and never makes it to my desktop. The only thing that seems to fix this is if she restarts her laptop. Not a big deal but this problem is sort of annoying. I don't know if this affects but the laptop is put into hibernate at night and I turn my desktop off at night. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is something easy to do to fix the problem besides restart the computer? EDIT: I was thinking that maybe my wife's laptop loses its connection to the printer. Is there a way to reset a connection to a shared printer? Or maybe reauth with the printer?

• scanner no longer working windows 7

  I have a windows 7 64 pro machine that for some reason no longer works with a brother all in one printer/scanner, when I try to scan. This happened seemingly out of nowhere. Printing still works. When I try to scan from photoshop, photoshop crashes. When I try to scan from device manager (which takes a really long time to access the printer) I get an error saying: "operation could not be completed. (error 0x00000015). the device is not ready. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the printer and drivers. I have also run the brother driver cleaner and then reinstalled and get the same results every time. I had access to another HP all in one. And very strangely When I setup this new printer I have a similar issue that happens. I am able to print but when I try to scan from the HP tool nothing pops up. So my thoughts are it is something to do with the twain driver? But I don't know what to do or check. Any help is appreciated.

  I have some highly floating point intensive processes doing very little I/O. One is called "xspec", which calculates a numerical model and returns a floating point result back to a master process every second (via stdout). It is niced at the 19 level. I have another simple process "cpufloattest" which just does numerical computations in a tight loop. It is not niced. I have a 4-core i7 system with hyperthreading disabled. I have started 4 of each type of process. Why is the Linux scheduler (Linux 3.4.2) not properly limiting the CPU time taken up by the niced processes? • Linked Tables not working With Access Database

  Hi, I have an Access database in a computer and I want to access it from other computer in the network. so I made mapped drive and created Linked Tables, then Imported all the objects (forms, queries, reports). when I open access database in the second computer and make any changes in using the forms non of the changes are affected in the main computer (supposedly server) and vise-versa. what am I missing? if this way will not work how can I access the Access database from other computer in the network and be able to use all the objects and make changes in it? hint: Access Version at main computer is 2003 and client pc 2007, will it effect?
