• Adding more OR searches with CONTAINS Brings Query to Crawl

  I have a simple query that relies on two full-text indexed tables, but it runs extremely slow when I have the CONTAINS combined with any additional OR search. As seen in the execution plan, the two full text searches crush the performance. If I query with just 1 of the CONTAINS, or neither, the query is sub-second, but the moment you add OR into the mix the query becomes ill-fated. The two tables are nothing special, they're not overly wide (42 cols in one, 21 in the other; maybe 10 cols are FT indexed in each) or even contain very many records (36k recs in the biggest of the two). I was able to solve the performance by splitting the two CONTAINS searches into their own SELECT queries and then UNION the three together. Is this UNION workaround my only hope? Thanks. • How to obtain listview information without refreshing the page?

  I am currently developing an Android Application for my Final Year Project. But to be honest I do not have any basic knowledges and everything started from scratch and referring to online tutorials a lot. Here is my question, I was trying to retrieve data from listview activity. There are two listview in my page using button. I was able to display the first listview but when it get data for the second listview, the data for first listview is disappeared because the page is refreshed, vice versa. What code should I modified to get both the data in the page? (Database not implemented yet) Please help, thanks a lot. Below are my codings. • Getting normal information from OpenGL render output

  I'll try to keep this simple. I want a way to access the normal information of the scene, from the Frame Buffer output (or similar). The same way one is able to access the Depth Buffer using glGetTexImage and GL_DEPTH_COMPONENT. I know I could set up a fragment shader which outputs the normal information in RGB color space, which could in turn be read from the rendered image. I'm wondering however if there is a way to do this within the openGL API. I'll clarify anything upon request as best as I can, Thank you

  I have an array of GLuint with fixed size: GLuint textures[10]; Now I need to set a size of array dynamically. I wrote something like this: *.h: GLuint *textures; *.m: textures = malloc(N * sizeof(GLuint)); where N - needed size. Then it used like this: glGenTextures(N, &textures[0]); // load texture from image -(GLuint)getTexture:(int)index{ return textures[index]; } I used the answer from here, but program fell in runtime. How to fix this? Program is written on Objective-C and uses OpenGL ES.

• PHP - MySQL - Select runs indefinitely

  I have three tables listings: id, pid, beds, baths, etc, etc, etc, db locations: id, pid, zip, lat, lon, etc, etc, etc, db images id, pid, height, width, raw, etc, etc, db id, pid & db are indexed. db just references the mls provider a particular item came from. in images the raw column holds raw image data there are about 15k rows in listings/locations, and about 120k rows in images so there are multiple rows that have the same pid. when i do "select pid from listings" or "select pid from locations" the query completes successfully in about 100ms. when i do "select pid from images" it just hangs in sqlyog and never completes... i was thinking since the raw column contains alot of information that it might be trying to select that too, but my query doesn't try to select that so I can't imagine why it's taking so long... any idea why this is happening??

• Is it possible to hide the cursor in a webpage using CSS or Javascript?

  I want to hide the cursor when showing a webpage that is meant to display information in a building hall. It doesn't have to be interactive at all. I tried with the cursor property and a transparent cursor image but I didn't make it work. Does anybody know if this can be done? I suppose this can be thought as a security threat for a user that can't know where he is clicking on, so I'm not very optimistic... Thank you!

  New to Android need help with one solid build that I can refer to and study for future projects. The first activity is a background image with a button,when clicked the it takes you to the second activity which is a form with 5 data fields and 2 buttons. One button calls an intent to take a picture within the app and one button that submits the data from the form along with the picture to URL. lastly a third activity that says complete thank you. I can make some of this but don't know how to link button or open and merge camera with the app to be sent as a package of data. I suppose I could also hook into GPS acquire location as well as the camera call?

  Hi, Let's say i have an image uploader script, i want to prevent the upload directory from executing Php or even html by only showing it as plain text, i've seen this trick in many websites but i don't know how they do it. Briefly, if i upload evil.php to that directory, and i try to access it i will only see a plain text source , No html or php is executed. ( but i still want the images to appear normally ofcourse) I know i can do like that by header("content-type:text/plain"); but that's will not be helpful, because what i want, is to set the content-type:text/plain automatically by the server for every thing outputed from the upload directory except images. Note: i'm running php 5.3.2/Cent OS and the latest cPanel. Thanks

• can you use jquery lazyload on all images (not just ones out of view)

  i have a webpage with a lot of images (photo album). I am using lazyloading jquery plugin which is great to only load the images out of browser view when i scroll down. The one issue i have is that i want the loading icon to show up first on images loading IN the current view as well as some of them are big images and they show up with that bad browser "image not loaded yet" icon until they download. I don't see any property on this plugin to support this for both in view and for scrolling. does anyone know if this is possible?

• Strange behaviour of Android debugger in Eclipse when using Camera for preview.

  Hi, I have an Android application that uses a SurfaceView subclass and Camera object to preview images before capture. Once I capture an image, I stop the preview and release the camera. Execution stops at any breakpoint after this. However, apart from the "Suspend" and "Terminate" icons, the rest are disabled. This is strange because the "Debug Current Instruction Pointer" is clearly at the said breakpoint and execution is already suspended. I can't perform any debugging operations and have no option but to terminate the session. Sometimes (very rarely), the session terminates by itself. I can confirm that this odd behavior takes place only after I preview the camera capture. I am fairly new to Android development. Is there some obvious mistake I am making? Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am working on the google maps integration in iphone (objective C). i am calculating zoom level dynamically so that two map points fits the iphone screen. it is good for locations very far, but i have issue that if two locations are very near to each other the zoom level then the images go blank and does not show anything other than blurred image, which i dont want. i want that if location are very near then there should be some default level zoom that should be called or fitted in, so that images wont blur.

• Making dynamic images have static filenames

  My website currently has various links to a php script that generates the images dynamically. For example, the link may say "img source="/dynamic_images.php?type=pie-chart&color=red" Obviously, this is not great for SEO. I'd like to somehow make the filenames of these links appear to be static, and use a solution (like Mod-Rewrite) to ensure that the images can still be dynamically created. I suppose I could have something like "img src="average-profits-in-scuba-diving-industry.png?type=pie-chart&color=red" (and use Mod-Rewrite to take care of changing the filename prefix to dynamic_images.php), but I'm afraid that the search engines would shy away from the querystring on the end of the image filename. Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

• Toggle DIV and SPAN text onclick

  I have been trying to mimic this website http://www.designrattan.co.uk/daybed/apple for a while now. I need to make a page where the customer can click "View 360" and then it changes the DIV to show the product 360 (for which I already have the code for). I also need to make it so that when it is clicked the span text then changes to "Back to Image" I have tried many times and have failed to get the Javascript code and HTML to work well together. Also when you click the button it then changes to text instead of a new button. Thats because i asking for a captcha and the text field who hold the information entered by the user ramain fill when he hit back, but the captcha image change, and if i dont blank the field the user (sometimes) dont get that he needs to re-enter the captcha. Resource: /Content/Images/Foo.png Does this request go through my route list .. fails to match any controllers / actions to this request and then .. i donno ... attempt that path directly?
