  • Conditionally setting the font color of an item in a drop down box in JSF

    - by Greg
I'm a newbie to web programming, so please bear with me. I am using JSF 1.2 and I want to conditionally set the color of the items in my drop down list. In other words, I have a collection of items that, along with a key and a value, also have a boolean property, warning, that is dynamically set by user action. I want the drop down to show all of the items, but those whose warning property is set to true should be displayed in red. I assume I have to extend the SelectItem class to add in the boolean property. How do I then conditionally set the color of the font of those items whose warning property is set to true in my JSP pages? Thanks in advance

  • Detecting new MMS (Android 2.1)

    - by Asahi
I'd like to recognize arrival of new MMS msg (after it is downloaded to inbox). I am doing the following: private MMSContentObserver mMmsCO; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); h = new Handler(); mMmsCO = new MMSContentObserver(h); getContentResolver().registerContentObserver (Uri.parse("content://mms"), true, mMmsCO); } where private class MMSContentObserver extends ContentObserver { public MMSContentObserver(Handler h) { super(h); } @Override public boolean deliverSelfNotifications() { return false; } @Override public void onChange(boolean selfChange) { super.onChange(selfChange); } } However, onChange is not getting called. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

  • How to default-initialize local variables of built-in types in C++?

    - by sharptooth
How do I default-initialize a local variable of primitive type in C++? For example if a have a typedef: typedef unsigned char boolean;//that's Microsoft RPC runtime typedef I'd like to change the following line: boolean variable = 0; //initialize to some value to ensure reproduceable behavior retrieveValue( &variable ); // do actual job into something that would automagically default-initialize the variable - I don't need to assign a specific value to it, but instead I only need it to be intialized to the same value each time the program runs - the same stuff as with a constructor initializer list where I can have: struct Struct { int Value; Struct() : Value() {} }; and the Struct::Value will be default-initialized to the same value every time an instance is cinstructed, but I never write the actual value in the code. How can I get the same behavior for local variables?

  • Overfocus in GridView

    - by chuck258
I'm trying to implement a GridView that Focuses the next Item and "Overscrolls at the End of a List. E.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want to scroll 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... just by pressing the right Key. Right now I can only Scroll 1 2 3 and then it stops and I have to scroll with the down Key. I already tried to set the focusViews in code (In the getView() method of my ArrayList Adapter, that fills the GridView) view.setId(position); view.setNextFocusLeftId(position-1); view.setNextFocusRightId(position+1); But that doesn't work. I found the boolean *Scroll(int direction) Methods on grepcode But theese are Package Local and I can't overwrite them. Any suggestions on how to solve this. Can I use another View and get the same Layout as a Gridview? I also set a OnFocusChangeListener to see what happens with no reaction. Edit: I just added this to my MainActivity, but now it seems to onKeyDown only get called when the GridView doesn't handle the KeyEvent (If the Last Item in a row is selected). @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: if (focusedView > 0) { mContainer.setSelection(--focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: if (focusedView < mAdapter.getCount() - 1) { mContainer.setSelection(++focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } Edit 2: This is so f***ing stupid but works so damn fine :D @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } I really don't want to post this as Answer, and I really don't want to have to use this Code because it is such a stupid workaround ;TLDR: Help still needed

  • How to create and Expression tree to do the same as "StartsWith"

    - by Jonathan
Hi to all. Currently, I have this method to compare two numbers Private Function ETForGreaterThan(ByVal query As IQueryable(Of T), ByVal propertyValue As Object, ByVal propertyInfo As PropertyInfo) As IQueryable(Of T) Dim e As ParameterExpression = Expression.Parameter(GetType(T), "e") Dim m As MemberExpression = Expression.MakeMemberAccess(e, propertyInfo) Dim c As ConstantExpression = Expression.Constant(propertyValue, propertyValue.GetType()) Dim b As BinaryExpression = Expression.GreaterThan(m, c) Dim lambda As Expression(Of Func(Of T, Boolean)) = Expression.Lambda(Of Func(Of T, Boolean))(b, e) Return query.Where(lambda) End Function It works fine and is consumed in this way query = ETForGreaterThan(query, Value, propertyInfo) As you can see, I give it an IQueryable collection and it add a where clause to it, base on a property and a value. Y can construct Lessthan, LessOrEqualThan etc equivalents as Expression has this operators predefined. ¿How can I transform this code to do the same with strings? Expression don't give me a predefined operator like "contains" or "startwith" and I'm really noob with Expression trees. Thanks, and please Post your answer in C#/VB. Choose the one that make you feel more confortable.

  • Java - Does null variable require space in memory

    - by Yatendra Goel
class CheckStore { private String displayText; private boolean state; private String meaningfulText; private URL url; public CheckStore(String text, boolean state) { this.displayText = text; this.state = state; } : : } As I am initializing only two variables (displayText and state) in the constructor, Will the rest two variables (meaningfulText and url which will have the value null) will require space in memory to store null value. Q1. I think they will require space. If they will, then how much memory does a null value takes in the memory (like int takes 4 bytes). Q2. How much space a string takes in memory. I guess it will depend on the length of the string. So how much space a string takes of how much length?

  • afterTransactionCompletion not working

    - by Attilah
I created an hibernate interceptor : public class MyInterceptor extends EmptyInterceptor { private boolean isCanal=false; public boolean onSave(Object entity, Serializable arg1, Object[] arg2, String[] arg3, Type[] arg4) throws CallbackException { for(int i=0;i<100;i++){ System.out.println("Inside MyInterceptor(onSave) : "+entity.toString()); } if(entity instanceof Canal){ isCanal=true; } return false; } public void afterTransactionCompletion(Transaction tx){ if(tx.wasCommitted()&&(isCanal)){ for(int i=0;i<100;i++){ System.out.println("Inside MyInterceptor(afterTransactionCompletion) : Canal was saved to DB."); } } } but the method afterTransactionCompletion doesn't get executed after a transaction is commited. I've tried all the ways I know of but I can't make it work. What's more surprising is that the onSave method works fine. Help ! Could this be due to this bug ? : http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1956 How can I circumvent this bug if it's the cause ?

  • FULLTEXT Irrelevant results

    - by Imran Omar Bukhsh
Just came across this issue using the fulltext search of mysql. I have like 250 records ( long articles like stuff ) and am using the fulltext MATCH AGAINST IN BOOLEAN MODE. Now if I search for a keyword e.g. 'Samsung' and if this keyword is present in ALL the records then it returns all the 250 records which it should ( of course without `IN BOOLEAN MODE it would return nothing as the keyword is present in more than 50% of the records ). Now the problem is that in some articles the keyword 'Samsung' occurs once and in others a couple of times, but MYSQL is giving a score of 1 to all the records returned, even those which have 'Samsung' like 15 times in them.

  • How can I write faster JavaScript?

    - by a paid nerd
I'm writing an HTML5 canvas visualization. According to the Chrome Developer Tools profiler, 90% of the work is being done in (program), which I assume is the V8 interpreter at work calling functions and switching contexts and whatnot. Other than logic optimizations (e.g., only redrawing parts of the visualization that have changed), what can I do to optimize the CPU usage of my JavaScript? I'm willing to sacrifice some amount of readability and extensibility for performance. Is there a big list I'm missing because my Google skills suck? I have some ideas but I'm not sure if they're worth it: Limit function calls When possible, use arrays instead of objects and properties Use variables for math operation results as much as possible Cache common math operations such as Math.PI / 180 Use sin and cos approximation functions instead of Math.sin() and Math.cos() Reuse objects when passing around data instead of creating new ones Replace Math.abs() with ~~ Study jsperf.com until my eyes bleed Use a preprocessor on my JavaScript to do some of the above operations

  • Does XSD allow simpleContent and complexContent at the same time?

    - by Willi Schönborn
I want to write an xsd for the xmlrpc spec (and generate java classes out of it using jaxb). The xmlrpc spec allows values like: <value><int>123</int></value> <value><boolean>1</boolean></value> But at the same time it requires: If no type is indicated, the type is string. Which means i could receive something like this: <value>test123</value> which is equivalent to <value><string>test123</string></value> Is there a way to define this in an xsd.

  • Django m2m adding field in the secondary table

    - by dana
I have a model in wich i'm using m2m Django ORM feature, in order to create an aditional table to hold my 'classrom members'. My problem is: the membership to a classroom must be accepted by the invited one, so i need a boolean field :1=accepted, 0=refused/unseen yet. How can i include this boolean variable in the aditionally generated classroom_membership (and NOT in the primary created Classroom table)? class Classroom(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name = 'classroom_creator') classname = models.CharField(max_length=140, unique = True) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) open_class = models.BooleanField(default=True) #domain = models.EnumField() members = models.ManyToManyField(User,related_name="list of invited members") Thanks in advance!!

  • Flex Filterfunction - Filter by Array of values

    - by Anandh
    How to filter an Arraycollection by "array of values" rather than a single value (simple comparision) , the below code snippet is for filtering by single value now I went into scenario like filter out only price [10,4,1,8] (some random values from the master collection). Is there any better way to do the second code snippet Filter function simple comparision private function filterForTestData(item:Object):Boolean{ if(item.price < slider.value) return true; else return false; } Filter by array of values private function filterForTestData(item:Object,filterBy:Array= [10,4,1,8]):Boolean{ for(randomprice in filterBy) return item.price == randomprice; } [Edited] Apply Filter testData.filterFunction = filterForTestData;

  • grailsApplication not getting injected in a service , Grails 2.1.0

    - by vijay tyagi
I have service in which i am accessing few configuration properties from grailsApplication I am injecting it like this class MyWebService{ def grailsApplication WebService webService = new WebService() def getProxy(url, flag){ return webService.getClient(url) } def getResponse(){ def proxy = getProxy(grailsApplication.config.grails.wsdlURL, true) def response = proxy.getItem(ItemType) return response } } When i call getProxy() method, i see this in tomcat logs No signature of method: org.example.MyWebService.getProxy() is applicable for argument types: (groovy.util.ConfigObject, java.lang.Boolean) values: [[:], true] Possible solutions: getProxy(), getProxy(java.lang.String, boolean), setProxy(java.lang.Object) which means grailsApplication is not getting injected into the service, is there any alternate way to access configuration object ? according to burtbeckwith's post configurationholder has been deprecated, can't think of anything else. Interestingly the very same service works fine in my local IDE(GGTS 3.1.0), that means locally grailsApplication is getting injected, but when i create a war to deploy to a standalone tomcat, it stops getting injected.

  • Constructing a tree using Python

    - by stealthspy
I am trying to implement a unranked boolean retrieval. For this, I need to construct a tree and perform a DFS to retrieve documents. I have the leaf nodes but I am having difficulty to construct the tree. Eg: query = OR ( AND (maria sharapova) tennis) Result: OR | | AND tennis | | maria sharapova I traverse the tree using DFS and calculate the boolean equivalent of certain document ids to identify the required document from the corpus. Can someone help me with the design of this using python? I have parsed the query and retrieved the leaf nodes for now.

  • How to configure a specific service operation to be accessible through a different End Point

    - by pradeeptp
I have single service contract that has 2 service operations. Let me call these operations as X1 and X2. How do I configure X1 to be accessible through HTTP and X2 to be accessible through TCP/IP. If I configure the service contract to be accessibel to TCP/IP end point then both X1 and X2 will be accessible through TCP/IP. Same is the case if I configure the same service contract with HTTP protocol. I could have two different service contracts for achieving what I want, but I want to know if I could achieve the same through a single service contract.

  • Sharepoint as a replacement for N-Tiers Applications and OLTP Databases

    - by user264892
All, At my current company, we are looking to replace all ASP.NET Applications and OLTP databases with Sharepoint 2007. Our applications and databases deal with 10,000+ rows, and we have 5,000 + clients actively using the system. Our Implementation of sharepoint would replace all n-tier applications. Does anyone have an experience in implementing this? My current viewpoint is that Sharepoint is not built for or adequate enough to handle this type of application. Can it really replace application with hundreds of pages, and hundreds of tables? Support Data warehousing operations? Support high performance OLTP operations? Provide a robust development environment? Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thanks S.O. Community.

  • Why is numpy c extension slow?

    - by Bitwise
I am working on large numpy arrays, and some native numpy operations are too slow for my needs (for example simple operations such as "bitwise" A&B). I started looking into writing C extensions to try and improve performance. As a test case, I tried the example given here, implementing a simple trace calculation. I was able to get it to work, but was surprised by the performance: for a (1000,1000) numpy array, numpy.trace() was about 1000 times faster than the C extension! This happens whether I run it once or many times. Is this expected? Is the C extension overhead that bad? Any ideas how to speed things up?

  • How to check whether a String fully matches a Regex in Scala?

    - by mkneissl
Assume I have a Regex pattern I want to match many Strings to. val Digit = """\d""".r I just want to check whether a given String fully matches the Regex. What is a good and idiomatic way to do this in Scala? I know that I can pattern match on Regexes, but this is syntactically not very pleasing in this case, because I have no groups to extract: scala> "5" match { case Digit() => true case _ => false } res4: Boolean = true Or I could fall back to the underlying Java pattern: scala> Digit.pattern.matcher("5").matches res6: Boolean = true which is not elegant, either. Is there a better solution?

  • In Blackberry's Application class what is the difference between hasEventThread() and isHandlingEven

    - by Eric Sniff
In Blackberry's Application class what is the difference between hasEventThread() and isHandlingEvents(). I'm just curious, because I have only found hasEventThread useful. From BB's docs for Applicaiton: public boolean hasEventThread() Determines if this application has entered the event dispatcher. Returns: True if this application has entered the event dispatcher (i.e. has invoked Application.enterEventDispatcher()); otherwise, false. isHandlingEvents public final boolean isHandlingEvents() Determines if this application has entered the event dispatch loop. Returns: True if the application has entered the event dispatch loop; otherwise, false. My only guess is that isHandlingEvents most happen sometime after hasEventThread. But is that really that useful?

  • Dump Hibernate activity to sql script file

    - by zeven
Hi, I'm trying to log hibernate activity (only dml operations) to an sql script file. My goal is to have a way to reconstruct the database from a given starting point to the current state by executing the generated script. I can get the sql queries from log4j logs but they have more information than the raw sql queries and i would need to parse them and extract only the helpful statements. So i'm looking for a programatic way, maybe by listening the persist/merge/delete operations and accessing the hibernate-generated sql statements. I don't like to reinvent the wheel so, if anybody know a way for doing this i would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance

  • WorkFlow and WCF dynamically launching WorkFlows

    - by Raj73
I have a WF which will be hosted on WCF . The service Contract will contain a single operation containing two parameters. Parameter1 will be a string and will contain the name of the workflow to invoke and parameter two will contain the input for the invoked Work Flow. All operations will take the same parameter. All the operations will return the same return value. I have created the service implementation and I would like to depending on the value of parameter1 start executing the appropriate workflow and return the value (There can be number of workflow classes say Operation1, Operation2...which will be the passed in as the value in Parameter1). How can I instantiate different workflow classes and pass parameters and get the return values from them which I should then pass back to the calling Client. (Also Should I be using ReceiveActivities in all of my Launchable WorkFlow Classes ? ) Any code samples or pointers would help

Inside the table is a notifications_type:string column that contains the type of notification, i.e. "foo" or "bar" or "oof" I want the user to be able to select what notifications they want to display, so there are checkboxes below the result that correspond to prefs_display_foo:boolean, prefs_display_bar:boolean in the User model. What is an elegant way for me to set the :conditions in the find to properly display the sorted results? Also, currently I have it as a method in the user, but how would I do it as a has_many :notifications, :conditions = .....

  • When debugging in VS 2008 why does the debugger land on a second return statement?

The results of the execution is correct but the debugging experience is misleading. Is this a known issue? Is the behavior in VS 2010 the same?
