  • How can I install both mod-perl2 and mod-php5 on Ubuntu?

    - by RickMeasham
From Ubuntu's package libary, I find the two modules I need. However: mod-perl2 requires apache2-mpm-worker mod-php5 requires apache2-mpm-prefork The two apache modules are mutually exclusive and ask me to un-install the other in order to install each. Which means I can't get a server running with both mod-perl2 and mod-php5. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot run logwatch due to Date::Manip issue

I tried to run logwatch at follows [root@machine cron.daily]# ./0logwatch ERROR: Date::Manip unable to determine TimeZone. Execute the following command in a shell prompt: perldoc Date::Manip The section titled TIMEZONES describes valid TimeZones and where they can be defined. My date is as follows root@machine cron.daily]# date Thu Aug 23 06:25:21 GMT 2012 Now based on details in various forums I tried to fix this by setting /etc/timezone to “+0800” but it didn’t work My /etc/localtime points to /usr/share/zoneinfo/GMT and is managed by puppet How do I go about fixing this? • Check_webinject plugin will not connect to https site using

    - by uSlackr
We're using Nagios to monitor some of our web sites. We have a script that uses the older plugin that we are trying to switch to using webinject.pl from cpan. When the script runs, it generates this error: LWP::Protocol::https::Socket: SSL connect attempt failed with unknown error error:1407741A:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert decode error at /usr/local/share/perl5/LWP/Protocol/http.pm line 51. It appears the web site does not support TLSv1 for https. If it matters, the site is a Cisco WebVPN. I've pointed the same script at a different site that does support TLSv1 and it seems to work fine. My web search is coming up empty. • Munin with postgresql 9.2

    - by jreid9001
I am trying to set up Munin to collect stats on a server with postgresql 9.1 and 9.2 (the server is currently running 9.1, have tested on a fresh VM with 9.2 to rule out some weird problem on the running server. I had to patch some of the plugins for 9.2 due to renamed columns (e.g. procpid to pid), but that's no problem). Munin is installed from the EPEL repos, postgres from the official one. Both up to date. When I try to run munin-node-configure --suggest, I get this output: # The following plugins caused errors: # postgres_bgwriter: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_cache_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_checkpoints: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_connections_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_connections_db: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_locks_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_querylength_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_scans_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_size_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_transactions_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_tuples_: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_users: # Junk printed to stderr # postgres_xlog: # Junk printed to stderr After a lot of searching around, I edited /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node and added the following: [postgres*] user postgres This stops munin-node-configure complaining about stderr and lets me add the plugins, but when I telnet to the server on 4949 and try to fetch the stats, I just get "Bad exit". When I run the plugin individually via munin-run (e.g. munin-run postgres_size_ALL ), it works completely fine. Looking at /var/log/munin/munin-node.log, this is the output: Error output from postgres_size_ALL: DBI connect('dbname=template1','',...)failed: could not connect to server: Permission denied Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"? at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Munin/Plugin/Pgsql.pm line 377 Service 'postgres_size_ALL exited with status 1/0. I am now out of ideas... the socket definitely exists, and pg_hba.conf is set to allow all users/databases from localhost with trust.

  • foswiki: use genPDF extension with topic templates?

    - by Mica
I have a foswiki installation for keeping ISO and other documents. I would like to create a PDF from each page. How can I create a topic template with different headers and footers for each topic template? More info: When a user creates a new topic, they can choose a template. I've made several templates for Functional and Programming specs. The functional spec and programming spec require different document numbers. I would like for the software engineers to be able to create a new topic, choose the template, then be able to generate a PDF from the wiki page, pulling the appropriate document number, and some other text into the headers and footers. I am not very familiar, and haven't been able to find any examples on doing this. Any help would be appreciated!

  • nginx dynamic servername with regular expression doesn't work for co.uk

    - by redn0x
I'm trying to setup a nginx server which dynamically loads content from a folder for a domain. To do this I'm using regular expressions in the server name like so: server_name ((?<subdomain>.+)\.)?(?<domain>.+)\.(?<tld>.*); This will create a 3 variables for nginx to use later on, for example when using the following url: test.foo.example.com this will evaluate to: $subdomain = test.foo $domain = example $tld = com The problem arises when the co.uk top-level domain is used. In this case when using the url test.foo.example.co.ukit will evaluate to: $subdomain = test.foo.cedira $domain = co $tld = uk How can I edit the regular expression so that it will also work for co.uk?

  • 404 Not Found for a PL script that exists!

    - by Abs
Hello all, I make a GET request to a CGI script and I get a 404 error. However, I am 100% sure that script is present and it has permissions: -rwxr-xr-x 1 apache apache 6520 Sep 7 03:01 uu_ini_status_audios.pl The request URL is: http://mysite.com/cgi-bin/uu_ini_status_audios.pl?tmp_sid=893facacc5dc392ad0f4c91e6a9e8d40&rnd_id=0.12266222834382812 The error I get: The requested URL /cgi-bin/uu_ini_status_audios.pl was not found on this server. This use to work for me before, but I think it stopped working after I restarted apache so maybe it means its a configuration I changed?? I checked the error logs for apache and php and nothing useful was found to help me with my problem! I appreciate any help on this!

The problem is, it does not recognize .mi files as MASON files. I looked into the lexer and it does have the keywords in place. How do I force it to be parsed as MASON? Running "Set Syntax: " on ctrl+shift+p, does not show a MASON option.

  • Finding the current user authenticated by basic auth (Apache)

    - by jtd
When you log in through a basic auth page, is the username you authenticated as stored anywhere (on the server or client machine), maybe in an environment variable? Background: I have a common web administration page for an e-mail server and I'd like to know who is doing what. When a user successfully logs in via basic auth, I somehow want to be able to identify them and log their actions. So each time a request is submitted, I can write to a log file. The basic format would be: $username ran a $function against $useraccount so if a user changed someone's permissions, eg: Admin-Bob ran a permission change against User-Scott So if errors occur, I can easily trace back in the log file what actions lead to the cause. I tried checking the %ENV hash to no avail, any Ideas? I don't really want to get into PHP-like sessions, because that would mean scrapping my basic auth, which gives me a fine degree of control already. If I have to code something with sessions, I'd need to implement a system to block users after maximum tries and so on, which I don't really want to code. I think this is better geared towards serverfault because it pertains to Apache moreso than the programming language. Sessions can be done in a myriad of languages.

  • mod_perl custom configuration directives don't work when placed in .htaccess and there is <Location>

    - by al_l_ex
I'm trying to complete Redmine's feature request #2693: Use Redmine.pm to authenticate for any directory (1). I have not much knowledge on all these things and need help. Redmine uses mod_perl module Redmine.pm for authentication & authorization. This module defines several custom configuration directives. I've successfully modified patch from (1) and it works when all config is in <Location>: <Location /digischrank/test> AuthType basic AuthName "Digischrank Test" Require valid-user PerlAccessHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::access_handler PerlAuthenHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::authen_handler RedmineDSN "DBI:mysql:database=SomedaTaBAse;host=localhost" RedmineDbUser "SoMeuSer" RedmineDbPass "SomePaSS" RedmineProject "digischrank" </Location> But when I move one of these directives (RedmineProject, see (1)) in .htaccess file, Redmine.pm doesn't see it! I've tried to change <Location> to <Directory> and add AllowOverride All. Directives from .htaccess is visible, but remaining ones from <Directory> - not. I don't want to move all directives to each .htaccess. When I add <Location> in addition to <Directory>, again - only directives from <Location> are visible. As far as I know, directives should be merged. I miss something?

  • Problems with Net::FTP slowing down

    - by c0bra
I'm running into an issue with using Net::FTP (latest version 2.77) to transfer files to a remote host where a process is waiting to take the file and feed into some other system. The remote process does this every 5 minutes but ignores files that were modified in the last 0.2 seconds (that's right, 1/5th of a second). The problem is that for some reason the transfer seems to halt or slow down a bit and no data is transferred for several seconds and during this time the process picks up the incomplete file and removes it. The weird thing is that manually using the ftp binary the file seems to transfer fine. I've tried messing with all of the Net::FTP switches (Active/Passive, different Blocksizes) and nothing seems to help. What's also weird is that the file seems to transfer fairly quickly at first and on occasion a bit into the transfer. Like 300-500k will go up immediately, but then it slows down to where the file size is only increasing by 2,896 bytes every several seconds. It doesn't seem to happen when I try sending the file to a different remote host, but since a regular manual ftp transfer works with this host I don't know what to think. Some combination of Net::FTP and possibly a slow or wonky connection?

  • How do I rsync an entire folder based on the existence of a specific file type in that folder

    - by inquam
I have a server set up that receives movies to a folder. I then serve these movies using DLNA. But in the initial folder where they end up all kind of files end up. Pictures, music, documents etc. I thought I'd fix this by running the following script inside that folder rsync -rvt --include='*/' --include='*.avi' --include='*.mkv' --exclude='*' . ../Movies/ This works and scans the given folder and moves all the found movies of the given extension types to the Movies folder. But I wonder if there is anyway to tell rsync to if a folder if found that includes a movie of the given extension types, sync the entire folder. Including other files such as .srt. This is to make it easier for me to get subtitles moved along with the movie. I have a solution figured out via a script made in php (yea, I actually do most of my scripting in linux using php... just a habbit that stuck a long time ago). But if rsync can handle it from the start that would be super. Also, I have noticed that this line of rsync actually copies all the root folders in the given folder. If no movie is in the folder it will create an empty folder. How do I prevent rsync from doing this... and saving me the trouble of deleting all folder in Movies that are empty.

  • Compare Error logs across service fleet, find unique errors

    - by neuroelectronic
I'm looking for a tool where I can list the servers to check, the location of the file and it would return a list of the most common errors across those servers (say like 2 or 3 servers for report brevity) and get a report something like this Server.A Server.B Server.C -------- -------- -------- 42 error.X 39 error.X 61 error.X 21 error.Y 7 error.Y 5 error.A 17 error.B 6 error.A 4 error.Y 4 error.A 2 error.R 3 error.S 3 error.R 1 error.S 1 error.R Of course, excluding timestamps and other error details and just grepping out the common sub-strings and listing them like so. I'd be able to look at the table and see that error.B is unique to Server.A and conclude that there is something up with Server.A. Does something like this already exist? Is this something I'll have to code myself? I'm not necessarily looking for this specific report, just the functionality to find unique errors across a set of error logs.
