    Using Firefox 3.5.7 The following test page should behave like Opera, Safari and Chrome. Key presses (arrows or 1-5) should have no effect (i.e. The events should be cancelled so that the number never changes from the initial default "3"). [I have separate working code for IE too]. We not want to use .load functionality as we are not using any single url call. We want it to do with “URL” by ajax call and response send back to popup/model content area.   • Drop Down Box (select) set URL on postback?

    I have a page with a ASP.NET DropDownBox control (HTML select) that's populated with some dynamic record values. When the user selects a record the entire contents of the page is updated to reflect the selection. If a user clicks a link and leaves the page and tries to go back, it pulls up the default unselected list, and they have to reselect it again. How would be the best way to retain their selection? I currently have the page set so if the url contains PageName.aspx?recordID=5 it will select the correct dropDown option. However I'm not sure how to change the URL's query string based on the selection.

    Don't know if this is possible, but I'd like to select records based on the field value of recur_type, where the 'm' is the day of the week.     i was learning socket programming in unix using c/c++. I am confused with one function call bind(params..). Actually it takes the adreess structure "sockaddr_in" and we can create the structure in the following way sockaddr_in.*** = somthing.. sockaddr_in..s_addr htonl(INADDR_ANY) **Passing INADDR_ANY will alow to bind all local addresses** My question is , why do we need to use "INADDR_ANY" ? In my knowledge every machine can has only one unique IP Address. In this way there is only one address associated with the machien. Thye bind call should directly bind the socket to the single available address. Please explain what are the different scenarios and why is it so?

I used: SELECT tableA.team1, tableA.team2, tableB.team, tableB.image, FROM tableA LEFT JOIN tableB ON tableA.team1=tableB.team The result only display imageA on the column. Are there any ways to select imageA and image B without using the second query? I appreciate any helps! Thanks a lot!     Currently, I am doing a search function. Lets say in my database, I have this data: Keyword1 Keyword2 Keyword3 Keysomething Key and the user entered: "Key" as the keyword to search. This is my current query: Q1: SELECT * FROM data WHERE (data_string LIKE '$key%' OR data_string LIKE '%$key%' OR data_string LIKE '%$key') Basically, I have 2 questions: How do I sort by (order by) similarity. From above example, I should have "Key" as my first result. My current result is: Keyword1, Keyword2, Keyword3, Keysomething and Key My SQL query only search by the "data_string" column, what if I want to seach others column?   • Can't call method in model table class using Doctrine with Zend Framework

    I'm using Doctrine with Zend Framework. For my model, I'm using a base class, the regular class (which extends the base class), and a table class. In my table class, I've created a method which does a query for records with a specific value for one of the fields in my model. When I try and call this method from my controller, I get an error message saying, "Message: Unknown method Doctrine_Table::getCreditPurchases". Is there something else I need to do to call functions in my table class?     Let's say I have a House entity which maps to many Person entities. I then load an existing House which has 20 occupants. beginTransaction(); House house = houseDao.find(1L); commitTransaction(); Later in the code, I can then add a new Person to the House: ... List<Person> people = house.getPeople(); people.add(new Person("Dilbert")); .... When I make the call: session.saveOrUpdate(house); Hibernate performs 21 queries: 1 to SELECT the House and 20 to SELECT each existing Person in the House. I'm sure it's a small issue on my part, however, what should I do so that I can add a new Person to the house without having such a heavy hit on the database in this situation? This is all done within the same session.

  • Call an anonymous function defined in a setInterval

    Hi, I've made this code: window.setInterval(function(){ var a = doStuff(); var b = a + 5; }, 60000) The actual contents of the anonymous function is of course just for this small example as it doesn't matter. What really happens is a bunch of variables get created in the scope of the function itself, because I don't need/want to pollute the global space. But as you all know, the doStuff() function won't be called until 60 seconds in the page. I would also like to call the function right now, as soon as the page is loaded, and from then on every 60 seconds too. Is it somehow possible to call the function without copy/pasting the inside code to right after the setInterval() line? As I said, I don't want to pollute the global space with useless variables that aren't needed outside the function.

    In Javascript, we can call methods on string literals directly without enclosing it within round brackets. But not for other types such as numbers, or functions. It is a syntax error, but is there a reason as to why the Javascript lexer needs these other types to be enclosed in round brackets? For example, if we extend Number, String, and Function with an alert method and try calling this method on the literals, it's a SyntaxError for Number and Function, while it works for a String. function alertValue() { alert(this); } Number.prototype.alert = alertValue; String.prototype.alert = alertValue; Function.prototype.alert = alertValue; We can call alert directly on a string object: "someStringLiteral".alert() // alerts someStringLiteral but it's a SyntaxError on numbers, and functions. 7.alert(); function() {}.alert(); To work with these types, we have to enclose it within brackets: (7).alert(); // alerts "7" (function() {}).alert(); // alerts "function() {}"
