• auto resize text (font size) when resizing window?

  Hi, I have been trying(in vain) to build a page whose elements would resize as I changed the window size. I have it working in css for images no problem, but I can't seem to accomplish the same for text, and I am not sure it is even possible in CSS. And I can't seem to find a jquery script that accomplishes this. When a user resizes the window, I essentially want the page to scale dynamically and fluidly, without the user having to invoke page zoom. This works fine on my img divs via css, but not for the text, which stays the same size. any ideas? Thanks!

  I'm working on a simple JOIN of two tables (urls and companies). I am using this query call: print $this->_db->select()->from(array('u' => 'urls'), array('id', 'url', 'company_id')) ->join(array('c' => 'companies'), 'u.company_id = c.id'); which is out putting this query: SELECT `u`.`id`, `u`.`url`, `u`.`company_id`, `c`.* FROM `urls` AS `u` INNER JOIN `companies` AS `c` ON u.company_id = c.id Now, I'd prefer the c.* to not actually appear, but either way it doesn't matter. ZF dies with this error: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1" but I can run that query perfectly fine in my MySQL CLI. Any ideas how to fix up this query?

• Response.BinaryWrite calls the ASPX page twice

  I am trying to open a file in the browser using BinaryWriter. This causes the a dialog window to open and prompt the user to save or open the file. That behavior is fine; however, if I select open, the aspx page is called again and after a long wait the file finally opens.   I'm having trouble compounding NSPredicate with AND, although using OR works fine. Imagine 2 entities, Doctor and Patient. Doctors can have many patients and patients many doctors. I want to find doctors that, say, have both person1 and person2 as patients. I expected this to work but it returns none. NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY patients matches 'person1&&person2'"]; If I change && to ||, I get all doctors that have person1 or person2 as I'd expect. • Staticly linked libraries not running code inside to setup static variables.

  In a c++ project I am working on, I have a simple c++ file that needs to run some code at the beginning of the progam execution. This file is linked into a static library, which is then linked into the main program. I have similar code in other files running fine, that looks something like: bool ____nonexistant_value = executeAction(); However, it does not work inside this file unless I make use of a function implemented in this file. It does work if the library is compilied as a shared library. I'd prefer to link this statically as the library is only a convience as the file is in a different directory.

  Hey guys I have a query and it works fine, but I want to add another table to the mix. The invite table I want to add has two fields: username and user_invite. Much like this site, I am using a point system to encourage diligent users. The current query which is displayed below adds the up votes and down votes based on the user in question: $creator. I want to count the number of entries for that same user from the invite table, and add 50 for each row it finds to the current output/sum of my query. Is this possible with one query, or do I need two?   I have an NSTextField in my view. Its value is bound to an NSNumber *number in my controller. The controller simply calls through to the model (value) to get the appropriate value. // In the controller - (NSNumber *)number { return [NSNumber numberWithFloat:[model value]]; } - (void)setNumber:(NSNumber *)aNumber { [model setValue:[aNumber floatValue]]; } This is fine, only the controller is not notified of model changes and thus, changing the value in the model does not update the NSTextField. The only other option I can think of is to have the model notify the controller and the controller manually update the view through an Outlet. But this circumvents the binding. // In the model, after value change [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:@"ValueChanged" object:self]; // In the controller, after being notified - (void)updateView:(NSNotification *)aNotification { [myTextField setFloatValue:[model value]]; } Is there a better, binding-aware way to implement this communication?

  I have used this snippet to prevent webkit from changing antialiasing when using CSS transforms: html{ -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; } This works fine for most cases, however I noticed some weirdness in chrome when playing around with Bootstrap using this HTML: <button class="btn btn-inverse">John Doe</button> <a class="btn btn-inverse">John Doe</a>? • JBoss 4.0.5 startup takes 15 minutes deploying a single war file

  This instance of JBoss deploys several war files. The rest of the JBoss startup takes about 5 minutes or less. But when it gets to one particular war file, startup just hangs with no further output to the jboss log. It waits there for about 15 minutes and then suddenly the war starts deploying. The rest of the JBoss startup is then fine. What I want to know is what steps do you recommend I take to diagnose the cause of this condition? It is not possible to upgrade this site to a newer version of JBoss nor java (currently 1.5.0.7). It is running on 32-bit CentOS 5.3 Linux on 3 xen-based virtual servers in a load balanced configuration. The code is common to all three servers via an nfs share. This same issue was seen, however, when the 3 servers were physical and the code was local to each server. The servers are each 2 cpu, 4GB RAM servers.

  Hello all, I have a set of complex Excel files (with figures in it) that I want to show in a web browser. So I need to convert them into HTML page first. Since the excel files are very complex, I can not just parse them and generate a HTML table with HTML tags. The current manual solution that works fine is when I use Microsoft Excel software to save the spreadsheet as a HTML page. I want to automate this task in some way since I want to do it progrmatically through Java. Is their any existing solution or a way to do it? Thanks.

  I need to calculate the difference between two dates (facility_start_date, facility_end_date) for a report in Reporting Services in SQL 2005. If the facility_end_date is null then it needs to use the report parameter @EndDate in the calculation. However if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate, then it also needs to use the paramenter @EndDate. The code below works fine except that if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate it is still calculating between the facility_start_date and facility_end_date, rather than between the facility_start_date and @EndDate. Any help would be appreciated. • copy an identity column into another table

  I have 2 tables that are related,both have identity columns for primary keys and i am using a vb form to insert data into them,My problem is that i cannot get the child table to get the primary key of the parent table and use this as its foreign key in my database. the data is inserted fine though no foreign key constraint is made.I am wondering if a trigger will do it and if so how. All my inserting of data is done in vb. The user wont insert any keys. all these are identity columns that are auto generated. If a trigger is my way out please illustrate with an example. If there is another way i can do this in VB itself then please advise and an example will be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance

  Hi, In C#, I'm sending a mail with an activation link to users after they have registered. However, the link is split over two lines in the mail and thus doesn't work. I've checked in Visual Studio and the string containing the link looks fine. I've also tried: strMessage.Replace("\r", ""); strMessage.Replace("\n", ""); but without success.   The commons WPF applications take some time for loading medium complex views, once the view is loaded it works fine. For example in a Master - Detail view, if the Detail view is very complex and use different DataTemplates take some seconds (2-3 seconds) for load the view. When i open the Outlook application, for instance, it renders complex views and it is relative much more fast. Is there a way for increase the performance of my WPF application? Maybe a way for not loading the template's data every time that change the "master" item, and load it only one time in the app time live? i will appreciate any suggestion.

• Problem while compiling the code

  Can someone points me the problem in the code when compiled with gcc 4.1.0. #define X 10 int main() { double a = 1e-X; return 0; } I am getting error:Exponent has no digits. When i replace X with 10, it works fine. Also i checked with g++ -E command to see the file with preprocessors applied, it has not replaced X with 10. I was under the impression that preprocessor replaces every macro defined in the file with the replacement text with applying any intelligence. Am I wrong? I know this is a really silly question but I am confused and I would rather be silly than confused :). Any comments/suggestions.

  Inside a jQuery event handler, I would like to scroll the window and then add a class to something. This is my code: $('#foo').click(function() { window.scrollTo(y); $('#bar').addClass('active'); }); $(window).scroll(function() { $('#bar').removeClass('active'); }); Notice I have another handler to remove that same class whenever the window is scrolled. The scrolling part works fine, but seems to run asynchronously, so removeClass() happens after addClass() but before the scrolling is finished. I don't know how to do this in plain javascript. I know there is a jQuery scrollTop() function that does the same thing (but seems to have cross-browser issues), but it doesn't accept a callback. What I really need is a callback to add the class after the scrolling is finished. thanks!

• PHP Zip Archive sporadically creating multiple files

  I have a PHP script (running PHP 5.2 on Apache 2.2) that creates a zip archive of files for a user to download. Everything seems to work just fine; the only issue I have is that periodically multiple files will be created before the ZIP archive is successfully finished. Example: archive-name.zip archive-name.zip.a09600 archive-name.zip.b09600 archive-name.zip.c09600 This does not happen every single time; only periodically - the file is still created but sometimes these extra 'files' are left on the server after it finishes. • Automatically Host User Domains in Rails/Apache

  Hi, I'm currently developing a user facing web application that gives each new user their own subdomain on the site, which is fine (using subdomain_fu), but is there a way to let a user map their own domain to this subdomain? I know how to do this manually through SSH-ing into the server and editing the Apache Vhosts file by hand, but is there a way to do this automatically so that a user simply enters their domain into a box on the site (obviously they'd have to change their own DNS elsewhere)? I'm using Ruby 1.8 and Rails 2.3.3 on top of Apache. Essentially letting; http://user.application.com/article-1 be accessed from http://userdomain.com/article-1 Thanks for any help!

  I need to dynamically load a CSS stylesheet into a page that's on a different domain. How can I get the complete URL of the JS file to use in the href attribute of the stylesheet? For instance, here is the structure: http://bla.com/js/script.js http://bla.com/css/style.css I want to dynamically load the stylesheet into a page http://boo.net/index.html. The problem is, I don't know the bla.com bit in advance, just the fact that the stylesheet is in ../css/ relative to the JS file. The script is, of course, included on index.html. jQuery's fine too.
