  • Oracle: delete suddenly taking a long time

    Hi We have a feed process which runs every day of the year. As part of that we delete every row from a table (approx 1 million rows) every day, repopulate it using 5 different stored procedures and then commit the transaction. This is the only commit statement that we call. All of a sudden the delete has started takign about 2 hours to complete. The delete is also very simple (delete from T_PROFILE_WORK) This has worked perfectly well for the past year, but in the past week i have noticed this issue. Any help on this is greatly appreciated Thanks Damien

In fact, I have no experience in creating cookies in JS, only in PHP. Could someone come up with an example of how to make cookies the simpliest way remembering my option, but whenever someone clicks another one, it should get rid of the cookie that was last set, e.g. Cookie value has 15px, then should update it or remove it with a new cookie with a new value of 13px and so on. Thanks :)

  • Very long tree control inside a <frame>

    I have an tree control inside of a frame. It's quite tall, around 2000 pixels. Right now, we use the frame's scroll bars, which is mostly good. Unfortunately, when you select an item near the bottom of the list, the page reloads and the view goes back to the top of the list. I tried calling the tree control's ScrollNodeIntoView() function, but since we're not using the tree's scroll bars, it just thinks that it's displaying the full 2000 pixels and the control doesn't have its own scroll bar. I'm not much of an HTML guru, so I have two ideas, neither of which I know how to do. 1) Tell the frame to not to let the tree render all 2000 pixels and instead stay inside the viewable area. 2) Tell the tree to not render all 2000 pixels and instead stay within the viewable area. Setting the CSS height property on the within the frame doesn't do anything. Thanks.

    Hello all As the title says, I want to truncate user-input text string based on the width and height of a designated container. My specification is to truncate the string, display some message like Read More at the end and when user clicks on it, the text slides down. UPDATE: Ah! Forgot one thing. It should handle multi-byte characters as well. Can somebody throw some light on what options do I have? jQuery plugins or some nifty jquery snippet? Thanks and Regards

  • Console App Mouse-Click X Y Coordinate Detection/Comparison

    I have a game that I am working on in a C# console application, purely as practice before going on to better methods. As opposed to using something such as a Windows Forms App, which has button functionality built in, I am endeavoring to grab the cursor position (which I know how to do) and compare it to a number of area's inside a console application as defined by perhaps pixel location, but I also do not know if there is some sort of built in unit of space other than pixels (this last bit is the part I am unable to figure). P.S. I know this is in general terms, with no code already provided, but I do not feel that it is needed as all I am asking for is a brief explanation of how to grab X Y coordinates inside a console application, and stick them in int variables.   • Very simple python functions takes spends long time in function and not subfunctions

    I have spent many hours trying to figure what is going on here. The function 'grad_logp' in the code below is called many times in my program, and cProfile and runsnakerun the visualize the results reveals that the function grad_logp spends about .00004s 'locally' every call not in any functions it calls and the function 'n' spends about .00006s locally every call. Together these two times make up about 30% of program time that I care about. It doesn't seem like this is function overhead as other python functions spend far less time 'locally' and merging 'grad_logp' and 'n' does not make my program faster, but the operations that these two functions do seem rather trivial. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be happening? Have I done something obviously inefficient?   • Fresh XP +click once +cannot connect

    Greetings, we have to following problem. Our application is deployed using ClickOnce. Everything is running fine and application is able to connect to the wcf service. The problem occurs when application is installed on FRESH XP machine without .net Framework and Windows Installater (that were selected in ClickOnce prerequities). Application downloads .NET Framework 3.5SP1 and windows installer but then it cannot connect the the server. Reboot after install does not help. The strange is that this application has been installed on 10 xp machines and 4 of them can connect to the service without a problem

  • Refactoring a long method that simply populates

    I am refactoring a method which is over 500 lines (don't ask me why) The method basically queries a list of maps from the database and for each map in the list does some computation and adds the value of that computation to the map. There are however too many computations and puts being done that the code has reached over 500 lines already!     I'm trying to do something which is very easy to do in the regular MSVC, but not supported easily in VC++ Express. There is no resource editor in VC++ Express. So I added a file named version.rc into my DLL project. The file has the below content, which is compiled by the resource compiler and added to the final DLL. This resource is viewable in the DLL using reshacker, though not when right-clicking the DLL in Windows Explorer. What is missing from my RC file to make it appear when right-clicking?
