    I have a large file I want to transfer using either Internet storage hosting, DVD-Rs or USB storage, which sometimes is limited to FAT file-systems (for example: mobile phones) What I'm basically looking for is a tool that create multiple files/volumes (less than 2GB each - FAT's file size limit) which are packed with a self-extracting executable. Currently the only tool I found doing this is WinRAR, but that's shareware, and not free. Is there any Free, preferably Open-Source tool that does that? Thank in advance

  • KeyPass - KeyPassHttp refuses to be recognised as a plugin

    I'm trying to make KeyPass run on my Windows 7 machine, I've downloaded and installed KeePass, aim to use it alongside Passifox However, downloading and copying the KeePassHttp executable to the C:\Program Files (x86)\KeePass Password Safe folder, however it refuses to show up in the KeyPass plugins window. Please help, I've tried download KeePassHttp using multiple links from github and passifox itself using Firefox and even wget. Also I've tried pinging http://localhost:19455 but nothing was found. Any ideas I'm at a loss.

  • Start menu entries suddenly missing

    I am using Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates applied. During the last weeks I observed that some start menu entries / folders suddenly disappeared. Those programs then sometimes can be found using the search function of the start menu, then however they are labeled by the name of their executable (like photoshop instead of Adobe Photoshop). Does anyone know where to start looking for errors? Does the start menu has anything to do with windows search? I doubt it?

    On Unix systems, the scheduled task service will email any output that a scheduled task produces. If no output is produced, no email is sent. How can I do the same thing on Windows Server 2003 or 2008? Is there a way to call a batch file or executable that will run my task, capture the output, and email it only if there is output? If you propose a PowerShell solution, please note that I only have PowerShell 1.0.

  • Android passing an arraylist back to parent activity

    Hi there. I've been searching for a simple example of this with no luck. In my android application I have two activities: 1. The main activity which is launched at startup 2. A second activity which is launched by pressing a button on the main activty. When the second activity is finished (by pressing a button) I want it to send back an ArrayList of type MyObject to the main activity and close itself, which the main activity can then do whatever with it. How would I go about achieving this? I have been trying a few things but it is crashing my application when I start the second activity.   • Execute a script with root permission

    Hi all, I need a script that will chown/chmod some files. This script need to be executable by any user. The problem is that those files are owned by different users, so it needs to be executed as root. I tried the SUID so that any users with X permission can execute the script as root, but seems that it doesn't work with a bash script because of security issue. How can I do that ? thanks.

The first one opens fine, but when I close it and do the process again to show a different one the app falls over with a memory error (it's running on a samsung galaxy s3 - so shouldnt be an issue).   • Severe Tomcat crash has me stumped

    I'm pretty used to crashing my tomcat server. But I don't think I made any changes at all and seem to have broken it completely. Was working one min then not the next.     i am trying to set the environment variables in tcsh shell and it is not working. This is the syntax that i am using currently setenv MYSQL_HOME=/opt/mysql/mysql/bin my other question is i have a c-shell script that i am editing. Is setenv the same as a regular set MYSQL=${MYSQL_HOME}/bin/sqlplus? set MYSQL_HOME=/opt/mysql/mysql/bin or should i just set the MYSQL_HOME to where the mysql executable is ?

    Hi everyone, Are there any way known to trick an computer with XP to appear to have more RAM? I need to install a specific program (which fits in my system requirements), which is bundled with a number of other programs on an DVD. Unfortunately, the other programs besides the one that I need demand twice the amount of RAM that's available on my computer and the installation is closed due to this. Can I trick my XP computer into have more RAM temporarily to bypass the block in the install executable? Thanks

    I keep data on a USB drive, but I also keep a copy of all of that data on a hard disk. I like using the hard disk because it's faster and gives me a backup. What standalone tools would work to keep the files on the disk and USB drive in sync? I'd like a single command line executable or standalone GUI app that can do the job--something I could run off of the USB drive. So, things like the MS Sync Tool wouldn't work.

  • No compatibility tab for Devenv.exe (VS 2010 and VS 2012) on Windows 8

    I've tried checking the "Run as Administrator" on the shortcut, but that doesn't always seem to work, like when I open the solution through the jumplist. I browsed to the devenv.exe file, but when I open the properties for the file the Compatibility tab is not there. It is there for other executables in the same directory. Does anyone know how I can get the tab back so that I can set the Run as Administrator open on the executable?

    I just got some 20Gb of data in a Visual FoxPro database with a custom frontend probably written in the same framework, and need to extract that data in any well-known format. I don't know anything about VFP in particular, but as it is SQL, there should be a way of opening an SQL console, or maybe an vfpdump utility. How can I do that? Everything I have now are a bunch of obscure binary files and a frontend executable.

    I am trying to setup a menu programatically and my method gets com.actionbarsherlock.view.Menu menu as a parameter. As I want to change the styling of the menu item I am trying to setup a SpannableString spannable and pass it to add. menu.add(0, MENU_ABOUT, 0, spannable); This is causing a crash only in ICS when I cick that menu item.     When I am trying to launch a call activity from a Service, I get a NullPointerException. This works fine with a lot of devices (Nexus One, Htc Magic, SGS, X10… and even Htc Desire HD v2.2). My application works with all versions of Android (tested on my device (1.6, 2.2, 2.2.1 Htc Magic) and on the emulator (v1,5 until v2.3). I have just a problem with HTC DESIRE HD v2.2.1 1.72.405.3.
