    Hi, I'd like to see a timeline of events from a database in a "timeline chart", that should look like this: http://i46.tinypic.com/sw3dj5.png - I've made me a small c# program that paints this onto a Bitmap, but that isn't the way to go. I have input data that has 3 fields: StartX EndX Y 2596 15008 1 5438 6783 2 5450 5453 4 5456 5459 4 5462 5466 4 5470 5474 4 5477 5657 5 5662 5665 4 5668 5671 4 As the picture shows, for each line I'd like to have a line from StartX to EndX with a Y value of Y. Stacked bar chart almost solves my problem, but I don't want to have a new line on the chart for every row, I have thousands of rows and I'd like to have X axis as the time axis, and view which events (Y is the type of the event) happened simultaneously. The image ( http://i46.tinypic.com/sw3dj5.png) I've generated with a simple C# program shows that the event SYSTEM was active all the time, and the events TECH and BREAK were almost exclusive, but had some overlaps. I'd like to at least know the correct direction which I should take; I'm lost in the multitude of Excel chart types. Thanks.

  • Why Is ModSecurity Unable to Access the Data Directory?

    Update I think we've solved this; the problem appears to have been a result of the /modsec_storage directory having an incorrect value for its SELinux context type. However, we're still not sure, because although after I changed the SELinux context type value, Apache was able to create files in that directory for the global and ip collections (global.dir/global.pag and ip.dir/ip.pag), the new files still have zero bytes. I'm new to ModSecurity and am not sure if the files are empty because something is wrong with the configuration or if ModSecurity has simply determined it doesn't need to store IP addresses persistently after each transaction ends. Anyone able to offer guidance here? I've recently installed ModSecurity (v2.5.12 / CRS v2.0.8) on our production server, and everything works great, except for these errors that it keeps writing to the Apache error log: Failed to access DBM file "/modsec_storage/global": Permission denied [hostname "www.internationalstudent.com"] [uri "/includes/soc_bookmarks/images/delicious.png"] [unique_id "LZ6jc38AAAEAAFO6408AAABO"] Failed to access DBM file "/modsec_storage/ip": Permission denied [hostname "www.internationalstudent.com"] [uri "/includes/soc_bookmarks/images/delicious.png"] [unique_id "LZ6jc38AAAEAAFO6408AAABO"] After following the instructions for file permission settings in the ModSecurity handbook by Ivan Ristic, with no success, I created a /modsec_storage directory, set the owner & group to apache, and set the permissions for the directory recursively to 777. However, ModSecurity is still reporting the same permission errors, so I am stumped. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

    I am writing a general file backup program. It searches the drive for files matching a set of types and then writes them to a folder on the desktop. I wrote it using xcopy on Windows XP but upon learning that xcopy was deprecated in favor of robocopy in Vista and newer, still wanting to maintain compatibility I decided to switch to the non-deprecated copy. This is where the problems begin. I'm trying to fix the copy routine. I thought I had everything sorted out, but it doesn't copy anything. My output is zero files copied for every iteration. Original Code using xcopy: for /r %%a in (*.bmp *.dds *.gif *.jpg *.jpeg *.png *.psd *.pspimage *.tga *.thm *.tif *.tiff) do ( echo f | xcopy "%%a" "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\Desktop\LDR\Images\Bitmap\%%~nxa" /q /y /g /c ) Revised (broken) Code using copy: for /r %%a in (*.bmp *.dds *.gif *.jpg *.jpeg *.png *.psd *.pspimage *.tga *.thm *.tif *.tiff) do ( copy "%%a" "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\Desktop\LDR\Images\Bitmap\%%~nxa" /d /y /z ) Output: The system cannot find the path specified. 0 files copied. Usually, to create a new git repository, I'll do something like: $ mkdir proj $ cd proj $ git init Initialized empty Git repository in /home/user/proj/.git/ // here I'm creating the files or copy them from somewhere else $ git add *.php $ git add README $ git commit -m 'initial version' But after creating the repository in virtualmin, I can find a new dir named 'reponame.git' but not the '.git' dir. When I'm trying to run any git command (e.g. git status) I'm receiving "fatal: This operation must be run in a work tree". How can I work with that repository? Currently I need to explicitly grant access for users to be able to view the repositories via gitweb. How can I make certain repositories public?

    I've installed statusnet 0.9.1 on a Windows Server via the WAMP stack and on the whole it seems to be fine. However, when logging in using IE7 or Chrome the browers invoke a file download, i.e. the File Download dialog is displayed.   • Is .htaccess slowing down my dedicated server?

    First of all, I consider myself more a programmer than a servers guy. I have a website where I receive about 3,000 visits per day, which I think is a lot less than the max capacity for a dedicated server. However, I've noticed that the connection to the website is pretty slow, e.g., to load images, to connect to it via SSH, etc. I configured .httaccess recently to avoid hotlinking to images in my server (i.e. .jpg, .gif and .png), and I was wondering if that could be slowing down my website.     So I have set up a simple server running debian stable (squeeze), and have configured git. Using gitolite, I have all functionality (at least the basic clone/push/pull/commit) working. Installation of gitweb went without any issues.   • Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 can't detect windows or any other partitions(Asus z77 UEFI BIOS)

    I've recently completed tinkering my new pc(motherboard ASUS z77 with UEFI BIOS) and unfortunately not everything works quite well. After installing windows 7 ultimate on a single primary partition(SATA drive) I decided to allocate one more logical partition for additional needs. When I tried doing it with the manager - it said that it couldn't allocate requested size even though I certainly asked for much less than it was available. I thought that it might have been a windows issue and proceded to installing Ubuntu 12.10 x64. When the graphical interface loaded it showed me a message stating that it can't find any other operating system on the drive. When I used custom partioning option it showed me none of my current partions(including that with windows). However, when I boot with "Try Ubuntu" feature it does find them ! I find it weird though.     Been surfing around for a solution for a couple days now. How do I enable Apache hotlink protection without hardcoding my domain in the config file so I can port the code to my other domains without having to update the config file every time? This is what I have so far: RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www\.example\.com [NC] RewriteRule \.(gif|ico|jpe|jpeg|jpg|png)$ - [NC,F,L] ... And this is what Apache suggests: SetEnvIf Referer example\.com localreferer <FilesMatch \.(jpg|png|gif)$> Order deny,allow Deny from all Allow from env=localreferer </FilesMatch> ... both of which hardcode the domain in their rules. The closest I came to finding any info that covers this is right here on ServerFault, but the conclusion was that it cannot be done. Based on my research, that appears to be true, but I didn't find any questions or commentary dedicated soley to this question. If anyone's curious, here is the link to the Apache 2 docs that cover this topic. Note that Apache variables (e.g. %{HTTP_REFERER}) can only be used in the RewriteCond text-string and the RewriteRule substitution arguments.

  • Routing for remote gateway over VPN in Vista/7 broken?

    Hi, Situation is as follows. Home computer running Windows 7, sets up VPN connection (LT2P + IPSec, "use remote gateway" disabled) to office. Subnet is 192.168.64.x Office has Draytek Vigor 2920 router, subnet is 192.168.32.x What happens? - VPN connection itself works fine - Can ping any machine on the remote network - When trying to open a webpage from a host in the remote network, the remote server logs the incoming request, but the browser hangs on "waiting for..." and eventually times out. I have observed this problem on Windows Vista and Windows 7. On Windows XP however there is no problem like described above. The only clue I have is that there is a difference in the routing between XP and Vista/7. The output of "route print" on Windows XP looks like this: (See www.latunyi.com/routing_xp.png) So here the gateway for the 192.168.32.x subnet is the IP address that the local computer has in the remote network. The output of "route print" on Windows 7 (and Windows Vista) looks like this: (See www.latunyi.com/routing_win7.png") Now the gateway for the 192.168.32.x subnet is the IP address of the VPN router (32.1). I don't know if that causes this trouble, but it seems a bit strange. Enabling "use default gateway on remote network" doesn't make a difference. Using the new option "Disable class based route addition" in Windows 7 only makes the route to the VPN router disappear. I am really puzzled here. I assume the VPN routing can't be broken in both Vista and Windows 7, and this should just work without manually adding routes. I hope someone has a solution for this problem :-). Thanks!
