  I use Net_Gearman from PECL, Gearmand 1.1.11 and Gearman Manager. Every time I add background job, I can see new worker listed with no Function, nor Id in Ggearman-Monitor: If I add many messages in the bash loop, after some time it becomes very slow. for i in $(seq 0 9999); do php Client.php && echo $i; done Yesterday, the situation was even worse - I had many error messages in Gearmand log regarding Too many open files and once I added --file-descriptors=49152 as an option and swithched to 1.1.11 from 1.0.6, these errors gone. • Apache Simple Configuration Issue: per-user directory is accessing /~user instead of ~user

  Hello. I am just getting Apache 2.2 running on Fedora 13 Beta 64-bit. I am running into issues setting my per-user directory. The goal is to make localhost/~user map to /home/~user/public_html. I think that I have the permissions right because I have 755 to /home/~user, and I have 755 to /home/~user/public_html/ and I have 777 for all contents inside of /home/~user/public_html/ recursively set. My mod_userdir configuration looks like this: <IfModule mod_userdir.c> # # UserDir is disabled by default since it can confirm the presence # of a username on the system (depending on home directory # permissions). # UserDir disabled root UserDir enabled huckphin # # To enable requests to /~user/ to serve the user's public_html # directory, remove the "UserDir disabled" line above, and uncomment # the following line instead: # UserDir public_html The error that I am seeing in the error log is this: [Sat May 15 09:54:29 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to /~huckphin/index.html denied When I login as the apache user, I know that /~huckphin does not exist, and this is not what I want. I want it to be accessing ~huckphin, not /~huckphin. What do I need to change on my configuration for this to work?

• Cygwin sshd on Windows 7 issue

  Using an administrator privileged account I have installed cygwin sshd following instructions here successfully on Windows XP, Vista, but on Windows 7, after installation without errors when I try to start the service ... net start sshd The CYGWIN sshd service is starting. The CYGWIN sshd service could not be started. The service did not report an error. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534. Has anyone seen this error, got any ideas on what might be wrong?

  I think I posted this on the wrong 'sister site', so here it is. I'm having a bit of trouble getting Kerberos (Heimdal version) to work nicely with OpenLDAP. The kerberos database is being stored in LDAP itself. The KDC uses SASL EXTERNAL authentication as root to access the container ou.   I use procmail to handle some serverside mail processing. I am trying to setup one email address on a server that support multiple domains (in the example below, domain.net and domain.com). I want mail sent to [email protected] to go to bob and mail sent to [email protected] to go to sara. VERBOSE=off LOGFILE=/dev/null :0 * .domain.net bob :0 * .domain.com sara The above recipe seems to work quite well in that it catches incoming mail to domain.net and forwards it to bob. However, instead of forwarding mail to domain.com to sara, it creates a file in /home/user called sara. What am I doing wrong on this?

  This one is driving me nuts. Hoping someone can shed some light. I'm running windows 7 using onboard audio. It's been fine for over 2 years but lately there's a problem every time I play audio. I hear a small soft burst of static and the volume turns itself down from 50% to 23%. Once at 23%, it plays fine. No related events logged in viewer. No reported problems with the device. Different headphones, same problem. I played around with audio settings for hours but the problem persists. Virus scans are clear as well. The static burst is irritating to say the least. Tried 2 different headphones and separate speakers. Same problem. I know it's not an easy problem but I was hoping someone had encountered the same thing.

• ReadyNAS Duo - FTP home network connectivity issue

  I have a ReadyNas Duo that I recently purchased and configured on my local home network. I'm an AT&T DSL subscriber using their default 2701HG-B Gateway (2Wire) wireless router. Basically, I have managed to configure my ReadyNAS, and can access HTTP shares and WINS shares just fine, but cannot get access to it via FTP. I've enabled it in the 'Standard File Protocols' section in the UI, and made a share have read/write default access via FTP. My settings: Port: 21 Authentication mode: User Allow upload resumes: Yes Passive ports: 1024-65535 Masquerade as: (empty, but I've tried the internal IP address). I've even poked around at my router, which has a firewall, and even tried to poke a hole for the 'FTP Server'app for the ReadyNAS. Doesn't seem like I should need to do this, or should. • Opensuse 11.1 KDE4 Dropbox autostart issue

  I am using KDE4 with the lastest version of opensuse, and I want to autostart everytime I turn on my computer. I followed this website: http://antrix.net/journal/techtalk/dropbox%5Fkde.html I got dropbox to work and everything is fine. I created a symlink to the dropboxd file to my ~/.kde4/AUtostart, but does not work. The command line I used to create the symlink is: ln -s ~/.dropbox-dist/dropdoxd ~/.kde4/Autostart/ I've check the symlink itself to see where it "pointed to" in it's properties, and it was the right file. The drobox-dist folder is in my /home/"username", and the dropboxd does work. I've tried using "sudo ln -s ~/.dropbox-dist/dropdoxd ~/.kde4/Autostart/" but no symlink was created. I've checked other blogs and they all say the same things to make dropbox to autostart up, yet it is not working. Does anyone know what's wrong?

• Wireless Network Issue, Disconnecting Randomly From Network

  I'm having an odd problem with my wireless network. Here is the background information: Server (Windows Server 2008) 1 to 10 end user machines connecting to the network Layer 3 Access Point (Asus WL-330 gE) connected to ethernet of Server and all machines connect to the network via the AP The end user machines get a connection to the server with no problems initially. But then connections are randomly lost throughout the day to the server/network. The wireless NICs of the machines still see the wireless network but are unable to connect to it. Then after some time the connection is regained automatically. I initially thought there was a problem with this particular AP, but then I took the same make/model AP out of storage and still ran into the problem. Any ideas what could be causing this??? Very confusing that the wireless nics on the end user machines can still see the network but not connect, and that the connections are randomly lost/gained. Thanks in advance!

When we drag and drop on to a webdav folder using Finder we get a -36 error. • Multiple vlan issue with procurve switch

  I have a cisco asa5505 as my rtr/fw(10.1.3.254). I have vlan 1 and vlan 3. Vlan 1 is my default all access vlan. Vlan 3 is my Guest(dmz) vlan. I can't seem to get a dhcp ip address when my laptop is plugged into port 42 on my procurve. I have plugged my laptop directly into the firewall and it gets a dhcp ip fine(the firewall is dhcp server). the firewall is plugged into port 41. Only vlan3 needs to go over port 41.   We have 2 domains “pdc1” and “devkc” both are windows 2000 Active Directory domains with a 2-way trust relationship in place., has been this way for years. All of our developer machines are joined to the “devkc” domain but the users log into there accounts on the “pdc1” domain. This all works fine with Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 server. However with Windows Server 2008 the users can only log into the “devkc” domain that the machine is joined to, they can not log into the “pdc1” domain. SiSoft Sandra reports x8 at 5GT/sec in x16 slot, and x4 at 5GT/sec in x4 slot, as expected. I'd like to be able to rely on the sheer speed of x16 slots. What gives? What can I try? Any ideas? This means that both SAS cables were utilized. We saw nearly double performance, but it varied from run to run: {2.0, 1.8, 1.6, and 1.4 GB/sec were observed, then performance jumped back up to 2.0}. The SSD RAID0 tests were conducted in a x16 PCIe slot, all other variables kept the same. It seems to me that we were getting double the performance of HDD-based RAID6 array. Just for reference: maximum possible read burst speed over single channel of SAS 6Gb/sec is 570 MB/sec due to 8b/10b encoding and protocol limitations (SAS cable provides four such channels).

• BOINC permissions issue running as non-admin on Windows PC

  I installed BOINC (running World Community Grid) on a PC (running Vista) under an administrator's account. When logged in as a standard user, and BOINC is set to run as a screensaver, it fails to connect and run properly. Only when the program is run as an administrator, does it actually run in the standard user's account. What is the correct way to install and run BOINC for standard users (non-admin) on Windows? -- Not specific to Vista necessarily.

• Contacts Issue: Google Contacts, Nokia 5800 And Outlook, Sync and Images

  Hello everyone, this is a multi-question, so please, feel free to answer just one or all of them. My actual situation is: Google contacts sync with Nokia 5800 using MFE(google sync), using google's fake "exchange server". Outlook sync with google using GoContact Sync software (http://www.webgear.co.nz/Products/GOContactSync.aspx). What I want, a easy(or not) way to correctly sync the three of them, even if I have to change some of my "escenario". I know outlook<-google contacts sync is not good yet, but if someone can suggest me some better SW than GoContact Sync. It'll be good. What I really want is to sync a least name, phone, email and image. Then, is there a way to get all my google contacts to by default use their own google image? I noted that, usually i have to manually choose it, and sometimes it doesn't work. I'll like to use something or someone's service to do this automatically. I have tried some services like Soocial, but it gives me a lot of trouble after the first sync, because soccial can ONLY get ALL your contacts, not just "My Contacts"; and also it gives me like 100 bad contacts in outlook because of their beta client. The final goal of all of this is to Get only "My Contacts" from google in Outlook and in the 5800 with their images Get ALL my contacts with their default image, meaning, the contact's personal image Get a solution to correctly sync the three of them, using Google's as the base for the rest of them.   Hi There.. I have a Linksys NAS200, I have several user in that. Only for My A/c i can't map network drive. When i try to excess my personal folder. no access coming..but i can open my personal folder in web browser.other user are able to acess their folder. It happed to me only. whenever i tried, its only showing one shared folder which is visble and shared to all user..   I am attempting to install gnome on a CentOS 5.3 Server install so that I can speed up the process that I am working on. I ran a yum groupinstall for the x window system and gnome but I keep getting the following error. Package cyrus-sasl-plain needs cyrus-sasl-lib = 2.1.22-4, this is not available. • Vista ICS issue

  I have a strange problem with Internet Connection Sharing on a laptop running Vista Business. This laptop is connected to the internet via the ethernet port, which goes to an ADSL modem. it is automatically assigned the IP address 192.168.1.50, and the modem/gateway is 192.168.1.1 My friends laptop is running Vista Home. Previously, I would create an ad hoc wireless network, enable ICS, and everything would be perfect. My friend would have internet access via this. However, something has now mysteriously broken. If I enable ICS on the wireless connection, it resets my Local Area Connection, assigning it the manual IP address of 192.168.0.1, which means my connection to the internet is destroyed. Both wireless adapters on each network are assigned auto configuration addresses, in the 168. range. They can see each other fine, but my friends laptop cannot access the internet via mine, even after I have restored the Local Area Connection settings. I understand the computer with ICS enabled must have the IP of 192.168.0.1, but previously, before whatever went wrong, my wireless adapter would be 192.168.0.1 and my friends computer would get an IP via DHCP. I have also tried setting static IP address and making a bridge, none of which works. How can I fix this problem, and prevent enabling ICS from touching my Local Area Connection? Both machines have no firewall, have appropriate settings etc...

• Sendmail Issue - Local Mail / Inner Domain Mail

  Environments: Ubuntu / Sendmail / Google Apps Emailing: I send and receive all of my emails through google apps besides emails that are sent directly from my website. My Web Domain: example.com (for the purpose of the question only) Problem: When my website sends an email, using sendmail, to any local address ([email protected]) I get an unknown user error. Emails sent to other domains seem to work just fine. Question: I believe this is because I don't have these users defined on my ubuntu server, this is besides the point I need to configure sendmail such that it doesn't pick out local emails sent to ([email protected]) and instead finds their name server which points to google apps and sends it there instead. This is my first try at serverfault, I normally use stackoverflow so let me know if I'm messing up! Thank you!
