  I am trying to use the WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventHandler inside of a while loop but when the code executes the WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs is never reached.   I have a dropwizard project and I have maintained a config.yml file at the ROOT of the project (basically at the same level as pom.xml). Here I have specified the HTTP port to be used as follows: http: port:9090 adminPort:9091 I have the following code in my TestService.java file public class TestService extends Service<TestConfiguration> { @Override public void initialize(Bootstrap<TestConfiguration> bootstrap) { bootstrap.setName("test"); } @Override public void run(TestConfiguration config, Environment env) throws Exception { // initialize some resources here.. } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { new TestService().run(new String[] { "server" }); } } I expect the config.yml file to be used to determine the HTTP port. • IE8 $('body').width() is 0 on $(window).load()

  On $(document).ready I run through a for loop twice and alert out the body's width ($('body').width();) each time through. I get a value I would expect (ex. 1092). On $(window).load I run through another for loop twice, also alerting out the body's width each time through. I get 0 the first time through (and the page looks completely blank behind the alert), and then a value I would expect the second time through (ex. 1092). This is an issue I am not able to replicate in a stripped-down example, nor any other browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE9, IE10). Does anyone have any ideas, or other things that I could test for? I am using $(window).load to cut up some divs based on their width, which is based on their font size, which is based on a webfont (which isn't necessarily loaded by the time $(document).ready fires).

  I'm using Sails and I when I attempt to call the login action of my UsersController. I know my routing is working, because the console.log successfully logs both the loginpassword and loginname. However, the res.view() doesn't work.   I'm trying to prevent user from inserting * in a textbox. This is what I was trying to do, but here it only detects * if this is the only inserted character. For example texts like: *, etc. When allowed characters are mixed with *, then it cannot detect it. • JQuery mobile handling links (return false)

  I'm planning on using JQM to make a simple mobile web app, and I'm having problems getting this simple functionality to work: when I click on some links (not all of them), I want to be able to first process some data, and then depending on that outcome, sometimes continue the link action (I like the whole transitions and ajax things), and sometimes don't. The important part is that I want to preserve the normal JQMobile transitions and stuff for the links, just sometimes prevent them (for example for validation and things like that). I've tried with: return false, preventDefault (and in combination with stopPropagation), and data-ajax="false", and none hav worked, they all redirect. Could somebody tell me the correct way to to this in JQMobile? Just in case it's important: I'm using anchor links, using this to test. Thank you in advance, Jennifer.

• C++ Reading and Editing pixels of a bitmap image

  I'm trying to create a program which reads an image in (starting with bitmaps because they're the easiest), searches through the image for a particular parameter (i.e. one pixel of (255, 0, 0) followed by one of (0, 0, 255)) and changes the pixels in some way (only within the program, not saving to the original file.) and then displays it. I'm using Windows, simple GDI for preference and I want to avoid custom libraries just because I want to really understand what I'm doing for this test program. Can anyone help? In any way? • Why does SQL Server consider N'????' and N'???' to be equal?

  We are testing our application for Unicode compatibility and have been selecting random characters outside the Latin character set for testing. On both Latin and Japanese-collated systems the following equality is true (U+3422): N'????' = N'???' but the following is not (U+30C1): N'????' = N'???' This was discovered when a test case using the first example (using U+3422) violated a unique index. Do we need to be more selective about the characters we use for testing? Obviously we don't know the semantic meaning of the above comparisons. Would this behavior be obvious to a native speaker?

• 2-Bay External HDD Enclosure in JBOD mode fails to detect both drives (Linux & Windows)

  I recently purchased a couple of USB 3.0 External HDD Enclosures to use for storage and backup; the idea was to have one act as backup to the other, with 4 x 3TB drives in total. However, the second drive in each is not accessible in either Linux nor Windows, and I could not determine the reason. 1. Situation The two enclosures are slightly different (couldn't find them in stock at the same time) yet from many little details appear to be the same Chinese base design with a tweaked outer shell. The models are: Sharkoon 2-Bay RAID Box Fantec MR-35DU3 The drives are Seagate 3TB Barracuda ST33000651AS, firmware CC44, all identical. From reading manuals and online sources, I determined that JBOD would be the optimal setup for my needs -- addressing the two drives separately in each enclosure would be important, making it easy to swap drives and mix&match them if needed; all the other modes implied the controller doing a combination of the drives. The software used was Debian GNU/Linux - testing/wheezy - kernel 2.6.39-2 and Windows 7 Ultimate. 2. Description of the problem Now, here comes the problem: every time I connect either of the enclosures to a PC using the supplied cable (tried a different one as well), only the HDD in the top bay is readable, the one below is detected yet errors out in various ways. According to the manuals, it should not happen: in JBOD, the system should be able to "see" two separate drives upon connection. This happens with both enclosures and any combination of HDDs (i.e. if I swap them, the same thing happens), so the HDDs are good and I think so are the enclosures (two different companies making similar products that failed in an identical fashion would be very unlikely). The top HDD can be used fine every time, I actually tried a speed test from Linux and got about 150MiB/s reads, so all is working as it should; the one below refuses to work every time. So the failure is consistent. To make sure this was not some obscure Linux bug, I tried the same under Windows 7, and the system also only created one drive letter for a drive of 3TB size (so it was only seeing one instead of both). Placing an older, known good, 2TB drive in the top bay made that the one recognised, so we have the same issue under Windows as well. Log entries under Linux (tested here with a 3TB and a 2TB drive so I could differentiate them; either one works in the top enclosure, in the test setup the 3TB one is on top).
