• IE7 CSS bug aligning <img> with text in a <ul>

  I've been banging my ahead on this IE7 bug for the last few days and it's time to resort to the mind of the crowd. I have the following HTML and CSS: http://beerpla.net/for_www/ie7_test/test.html The goal is to have a <ul>, with each <li> containing a small icon and some text. Multiline text would be aligned to itself and not wrap under the image. I've tried using float:left on the image and a bunch of other things, and finally I thought the position:absolute would work for sure but in IE7 I consistently see the text pop off to the next line and get misaligned with the image: This is what I expect it to look like: I even tried to make the div display:inline which kind of worked but then started wrapping under the image for long lines, so it was no good. zoom:1 also produced a similar effect. I'm at a loss at the moment. This code works fine in all other browsers. IE7 is a special, very special child. Any ideas? Thank you. Edit: If you have IE8, you can emulate IE7 by pressing F12 and then Alt-7.

  Wondering if anyone knows of a set of T4 templates for generating C# POCO classes and also mapping XML files for NHibernate from a set of tables in a database. I saw that David Hayden has created T4 for generating FluentNH code based upon a DBML model, but I'm not quite ready to use FluentNH yet as there isn't even an official release yet (although I love the idea). Anyone know of any T4 templates for using plain NHibernate?

  I'd like to hava a Dojo dojox.grid.DataGrid with its data from a servlet. Problem: The data returned from the servlet does not get displayed, just the message "Sorry, an error has occured". • Does a silverlight video player always need source address in URL format only?

  I have seen on many sites the silverlight video player. I noticed that all of them took a URL as the source of the video file. Can a silverlight player play a video file kept locally? I mean a simple HTML file kept in a folder with the xap (say VideoPlayer.xap) and the video (say ABC.avi) file. The html file would contain an object tag. How I could detect merged and split cells. I want to export table to html, so I should calculate colspan and rowspan. I would appreciate any suggestions... I am out of ideas :(

• JFace: difference between ITreeContentProvider and ILazyTreeContentProvider

  After reading JavaDoc for ILazyTreeContentProvider and Virtual Tables and Trees I am a bit confused. Do they really mean that with a simple ITreeContentProvider all elements have to be loaded when the tree is created? I expected that getChildren() would only be called when expanding an element (and hasChildren() to be called to determine whether the plus sign should be shown). Or are they intended for the case where some elements have many children?

  Hello everybody. On my wordpress website one little thing doesn't work. Sometimes the Webserver adds the port number 16080 in the URL, which leads to an error (network timeout). Wrong: http://www.example.com:16080/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Correct: http://www.example.com/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Has someone a "Server port 16080 problem fix"? • OneToMany relationship appearing as OneToOne in Linq to SQL diagram

  I have a OneToMany relationship in an SQL Server database. When I add the tables to my Linq to SQL diagram (DBML) the relationship comes up as OneToOne. I have other OneToMany relationships which synchronise correctly. Even If I change the cardinality to OneToMany the collection still only returns a single entity. Could this be a bug?

• How to remove old indexed URLs from Google?

  I used Cs-cart for a site. Default installation SEO is not suitable for Turkish accented characters such as "ö" which maps to automatically "ae". Then I modified the php code and now it substitutes "ö" with "o" and "s"-"s" etc. Also I changed a category name to a better one. My problem is, google indexed both previous versions and new versions. Previous wrong urls gives 404 error. I used sitemap addon and send it to google and sitemap does not include wrong urls. However these old urls are still indexed on google. What can I do to remove them. • Insert into a star-schema

  I've read a lot about star-schema's, about fact/deminsion tables, select statements to quickly report data, however the matter of data entry into a star-schema seems aloof to me. How does one "theoretically" enter data into a star-schema db? while maintaining the fact table. Is a series of INSERT INTO statement within giant stored proc with 20 params my only option (and how to populate the fact table). Many thanks.

• Google Maps API DirectionsRendererOptions not working?

  I am trying to use DirectionsRenderer to display a DirectionsResult without the route list. According to the API version 3 documentation, there is a "hideRouteList" property of the DirectionsRendererOptions object that when set to true should hide the route list. I cannot get it to work. Is this a bug or am I just not coding this correctly? • IE History Tracking, IFRAMES, and Cross Domain error...

  So here's the deal. We have a Flash application that is running within an HTML file. For one page we call a legacy reporting system in ASP.NET that is within an IFRAME. This page then communicates back to the Flash application using cross-domain scripting (document.domain = "domain" is set in both pages. THIS ALL WORKS. Now the kicker. Flash has history tracking enabled. This loads the history.js file that created a div tag to store page changes so the back and forward buttons work in the browser. Which works for Firefox and Chrome as they create a div tag. HOWEVER In Internet Explorer, history.js creates another IFRAME (instead of a DIV) called ie_historyFrame. When the ScriptResource.axd code attempts to access this with: var frameDoc = this._historyFrame.contentWindow.document; we get an "Access is Denied" error message. ARGH! We've tried getting a handle to this IFRAME and inserting the document.domain code. FAIL. We've tried editing the historytemplate.html file that flex also uses to include document.domain... FAIL. I've tried to edit the underlying ASP.NET page to disable history tracking in the ScriptManager control. FAIL. At my wit's end on this one. We have users who need to use IE to access this site. They are big clients who we cannot tell to just use Firefox. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

• Issues with cross-domain uploading

  I'm using a django plugin called django-filebrowser which utilizes uploadify. The issue I'm having is that I'm hosting uploadify.swf on a remote static media server, whereas my admin area is on my django server. At first, the browse button wouldn't invoke my browser's upload. I fixed this by modifying the sameScriptAccess to always instead of sameDomain. Now the progress bar doesn't move at all, I probably have to enable some server setting for cross domain file uploading, or most likely actually host a separate upload script on my media server.   I am trying to write a plugin for CKEditor that is basically just a iframe with PHP content. The user browses around, selects the video they want and then they click insert. The problem is that I need to create a "fake element" for this video, as inserting a video directly seems to show up as a Flash object, and we need to make it look a little different. • How can I debug why this click handler never fires?

  I am going to be excrutiatingly detailed here. I am using Firefox 3.6.3 on Max OSX with Firebug 1.5.3. I have two versions of a project, one which works and one with a bug. One I downloaded and one I typed by hand. Take a guess which one doesn't work. They should be the same except that mine uses a newer version of jQuery and the files are named differently. jQuery version is not the issue. I made mine use the older jquery and I made the working one use the newer jquery. Either way, mine still broke and the downloaded one still works. I've busted my eyes trying to see how these projects are different. The only thing I don't want to do is copy the working code to the busted code because I need to be able to figure this stuff out when it is my own unique code causing similar issues. There are no errors that I can see in Firebug in my code, in fact, 2/3 of it works just fine. just the second button does nothing. So I wanted to step through. These are always eyeball errors and I really suck at seeing them. I put it on a public server. http://colleenweb.com/jqtests/ex71.html And I want to debug ex71.js If you firebug the working one and set a break point at line 13 in ex71.js the variable json has the expected values when you click on the second button. But If you firebug this one, it never gets there. I've been over the html and all the names of everything seem to match up. I also wonder why the buttons aren't right justified but that's a css thing. Please tell me what I'm missing, and more importantly, what tool/technique I could use to find these types of bugs.

Our scenario is such that we have a central database to which our web application connects. Whenever we supply our clients with a new functionality or a bug fix, we supply them incremental builds. The SQL script is checked into source control for every incremental build when they have made and tested there changes on our central DB Server. I want to generate Differential script that can be run at the client as an incremental update script. Now to come about it is a problem. Sometimes our developers tend to forget the database change-sets and the script in the source control is missing an SP or a two. Also, sometimes we need to insert default data into some of the tables that have strict stringent values and not test values. Like a table that contains Services provided by the panel, we add a new service name, signature, credentials and service address, etc etc in the ServiceTable. Besides this many other tables may have test data that may not be needed. If we use DataCompare, it will generate changeset for required data (important for client to enable certain services) and our test data that was added to the database as a result of our testing of the functionality or bug fix. Currently i am using SQLSchemaCompareTask (from Visual Studio 2008 Team Database Professional Power Tools API) in the TFSBuild.proj file of the build definition for TFS 2008. Using SQLSchemaCompareTask, the script generated contains database names like [dbo]. etc which are not desired as the script fails when run against SQL Server 2000 databses (Some of our client still use SQL Server 2000) databases as teh backend of the application. Also default data can't be generated by this process. To overcome this problem, i have to come up with a solution that can compare databases and generate script automatically that does not have to be manually reviewed again before being sent to the client. Please suggest effective methodology of such SQL script generation and suggest whether two different databases may be used or something ? Is there any toolkit or api that can enable build automation for SQL Server databases? Thank you all. Regards Steve

How do i write that if statement there and is there any easier way to do this? My plan now is to use a variable like @current_page and testif it @current_page == "community" and add a class if it returns right. Am i thinking wrong? any easier way to accomplish this? • DataTable identity column not set after DataAdapter.Update/Refresh on table with "instead of"-trigge

  Within our unit tests we use plain ADO.NET (DataTable, DataAdapter) for preparing the database resp. checking the results, while the tested components themselves run under NHibernate 2.1. .NET version is 3.5, SqlServer version is 2005. The database tables have identity columns as primary keys. Some tables apply instead-of-insert/update triggers (this is due to backward compatibility, nothing I can change). The triggers generally work like this: create trigger dbo.emp_insert on dbo.emp instead of insert as begin set nocount on insert into emp ... select @@identity end The insert statement issued by the ADO.NET DataAdapter (generated on-the-fly by a thin ADO.NET wrapper) tries to retrieve the identity value back into the DataRow: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select id, ... from emp where id = @@identity ' But the DataRow's id-Column is still 0. When I remove the trigger temporarily, it works fine - the id-Column then holds the identity value set by the database. NHibernate on the other hand uses this kind of insert statement: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select scope_identity() ' This works, the NHibernate POCO has its id property correctly set right after flushing. Which seems a little bit counter-intuitive to me, as I expected the trigger to run in a different scope, hence @@identity should be a better fit than scope_identity(). So I thought no problem, I will apply scope_identity() instead of @@identity under ADO.NET as well. But this has no effect, the DataRow value is still not updated accordingly. And now for the best part: When I copy and paste those two statements from SqlServer profiler into a Management Studio query (that is including "exec sp_executesql"), and run them there, the results seem to be inverse! There the ADO.NET version works, and the NHibernate version doesn't (select scope_identity() returns null). I tried several times to verify, but to no avail. Of course this just shows the resultset coming from the database, whatever happens inside NHibernate and ADO.NET is another topic. Also, several session properties defined by T-SQL SET are different in the two scenarios (Management Studio query vs. application at runtime) This is a real puzzle to me. I would be happy about any insights on that. Thank you!
