• Using RecordStore in Java J2ME

  Hi, I am currently doing some J2ME development. I am having a problem in that a user can add and remove elements to the record store, and if a record gets deleted, then that record is left empty and the others don't move up one. I'm trying to come up with a loop that will check if a record has anything in it (incase it has been deleted) and if it does then I want to add the contents of that record to a list. My code is similar to as follows: for (int i = 1; i <= rs.getNumRecords(); i++) { // Re-allocate if necessary if (rs.getRecordSize(i) > recData.length) recData = new byte[rs.getRecordSize(i)]; len = rs.getRecord(i, recData, 0); st = new String(recData, 0, len); System.out.println("Record #" + i + ": " + new String(recData, 0, len)); System.out.println("------------------------------"); if(st != null) { list.insert(i-1, st, null); } } When it gets to rs.getRecordSize(i), I always get a "javax.microedition.rms.InvalidRecordIDException: error finding record". I know this is due to the record being empty but I can't think of a way to get around this problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Windows Media Encoder object not created in ASP.NET on MS Server 2003 64 bit

  Hello, I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine. However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154." It cannot be that the component isn’t registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit. Could it be a problem with permissions? Regardless, anyone have any ideas why this problem is occurring and, more importantly, how to resolve it? Thank you.   I've implemented some extension methods and put those in separate Class Library project. Imagine I have a simple extension method like this in class library called MD.Utility: namespace MD.Utility { public static class ExtenMethods { public static bool IsValidEmailAddress(this string s) { Regex regex = new Regex(@"^[\w-\.]+@([\w-]+\.)+[\w-]{2,4}$"); return regex.IsMatch(s); } } } But nowhere in WebApp like App_code folder or WebFroms code-behind page I can't use this Extension method. While if I put my extension method in App_Code folder it's ok for using in another cs file in App_code Folder or Web Form code-behind pages.

• Can't get past 2542 Threads in Java on 4GB iMac OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard (32bit)

  I am running the following program trying to figure out how to configure my JVM to get the maximum number of threads my machine can support. For those that might not know, Snow Leopard ships with Java 6.   Is there any alternate way to create stored procedure without putting all query in one long string if criteria of WWHERE clause can be different. Suppose I have Orders table I want to create stored procedure on this table and there are three column on which I wnat to filter records. 1- CustomerId, 2- SupplierId, 3- ProductId. If user only give CustomerId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.CustomerId = @customerId And if user only give ProductId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.ProductId = @productId And if user only all three CustomerId, ProductId, and SupplierId is given then all three Ids will be used in WHERE to filter. There is also chance that user don't want to filter record then query should be like following SELCT * FROM Orders Whenever I have to create this kind of procedure I put all this in string and use IF conditions to check if arguments (@customeId or @supplierId etc) has values.   I'm totally new to flex. I'm getting a build error when using flex. • Need to search email body for regex using VBA

  I am trying to write a script that I can run from a rule withing outlook. The goal of this script is to search the email body for a regex pattern, \d{8}-\d{3}\(E\d\) in this case. I want to take that pattern and see if a folder with the name of the match exists and if not create one. I am not super familiar with VBA as I write mostly in python. I have copied and pasted the following bit of code together but at this time I am unable to get the MsgBox to appear when I send an email with 20120812-001(E3) in the body.   Hi, I making a game leaderboard on facebook. I'm not using connect but working inside the canvas. When I try to load the images from facebook it gives me the following error. SecurityError: Error #2122: Security sandbox violation: Loader.content: http://test cannot access http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/v22941/254/15/q652310588_2173.jpg A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded.   I'm creating my generic DataContext using only the connectionString in the ctor. I have no issues in retrieving the table using DataContext.GetTable(). However, I need to also be able to retrieve entities of inline table functions. • Gravatar XML-RPC request problem in Objective-C

  Hi all, I'm trying to incorporate some Gravatar functionality using its XML-RPC API in an iPhone app I'm writing. I grabbed the Cocoa XML-RPC Framework by Eric Czarny (http://github.com/eczarny/xmlrpc) and it works well when I tested it with some of the Wordpress methods. However, when I try to use the Gravatar API, I always receive a response of "Error code: -9 Authentication error". I think I'm constructing the request correctly, but I've been wracking my brain and can't seem to figure it out. Maybe someone has some experience with this API or can see what I'm doing wrong. • Adding an application to OpenWithList with Inno Setup

  I'm trying to write an installer for an app I created. I found a suggestion elsewhere that I was trying to follow and it mostly worked. My app is now in the "Open With" list. However, the app won't run at all. Could it be that it's because the app is not being started in its directory, so it can't find the dlls?   I got this idea from XKCD's Hofstadter comic; what's the best way to create a conditional loop in (any) Lisp dialect that executes a function until it returns NIL at which time it collects the returned values into a list. For those who haven't seen the joke, it's goes that Douglas Hofstadter's “eight-word” autobiography consists of only six words: “I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym” containing continuation of the joke: (some odd meta-paraprosdokian?) “Is Meta” — the joke being that the autobiography is actually “I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym Is Meta”. But why not go deeper? • Implementing parts of rfc4226 (HOTP) in mysql

  Like the title says, I'm trying to implement the programmatic parts of RFC4226 "HOTP: An HMAC-Based One-Time Password Algorithm" in SQL. I think I've got a version that works (in that for a small test sample, it produces the same result as the Java version in the code), but it contains a nested pair of hex(unhex()) calls, which I feel can be done better. I am constrained by a) needing to do this algorithm, and b) needing to do it in mysql, otherwise I'm happy to look at other ways of doing this. What I've got so far: -- From the inside out... -- Concatinate the users secret, and the number of time its been used -- find the SHA1 hash of that string -- Turn a 40 byte hex encoding into a 20 byte binary string -- keep the first 4 bytes -- turn those back into a hex represnetation -- convert that into an integer -- Throw away the most-significant bit (solves signed/unsigned problems) -- Truncate to 6 digits -- store into otp -- from the otpsecrets table select (conv(hex(substr(unhex(sha1(concat(secret, uses))), 1, 4)), 16, 10) & 0x7fffffff) % 1000000 into otp from otpsecrets; Is there a better (more efficient) way of doing this?

Instead, the function does not return. • Replicating SQL's 'Join' in Python

  I'm in the process of trying to switch from R to Python (mainly issues around general flexibility). With Numpy, matplotlib and ipython, I've am able to cover all my use cases save for merging 'datasets'. I would like to simulate SQL's join by clause (inner, outer, full) purely in python. R handles this with the 'merge' function. I've tried the numpy.lib.recfunctions join_by, but it critical issues with duplicates along the 'key': join_by(key, r1, r2, jointype='inner', r1postfix='1', r2postfix='2', defaults=None, usemask=True, asrecarray=False) Join arrays r1 and r2 on key key. The key should be either a string or a sequence of string corresponding to the fields used to join the array. An exception is raised if the key field cannot be found in the two input arrays. Neither r1 nor r2 should have any duplicates along key: the presence of duplicates will make the output quite unreliable.   I have a fairly complex (not really) xml layout file. One of the views is a LinearLayout (v1) with two children: an EditText(v2) and another LinearLayout(v3). The child LinearLayout in turn has an EditText(v4) and an ImageView(v5). For EditText v2 I have imeOptions as android:imeOptions="actionNext" But when I run the app, the keyboard's return does not check to next and I want it to change to next. How do I fix this problem? Also, when user clicks next, I want focus to go to EditText v4. I do I do this? • Guessess of my session value conflicts

  I have a asp.net web form which will submit information to come as emails. Whenever user fill the form and click on submit button,the information user entered will be sent as email. This web form has 4 page. but the web form will not use all 4 page on all requests. if the user select a particular value in first page, the form will bypass the 3rd page and go the last 4th page(like...page1,2,4). IF it is any other values selected in the first page. form will navigate as page1,2,3,4. So now my problem is when multiple users access the same website, the value in the first page get combines from different users and the form will act abnormally.Sometime it will bypass sometimes it will not bypass the page3 Show below is the variable decalrations: Public strRoleType As String = String.Empty Protected Shared isAreaSelected As Integer = 0 Protected Shared isStoreSelected As Integer = 0 Protected Shared isHeadOfficeSelected As Integer = 0 Protected Shared isRegionSelected As Integer = 0 I guess the problem is with strRoleType variable whether it is getting values from different users. Do any have any work around?

That's not that difficult. The challenge is to find a most generic way to build a class, which serializes/deserializes to and from a byte stream... Pickle, Google protocol buffer, marshal is all not an option. I made little success with having an explicit "def serialize" in my class, but I'm not very happy with it, because it's not generic enough. I hope I could express the problem. • Mimic.js handle fault response

  i use mimic.js regarding a project that i m developing.. the issue that i face, is if there is a fault response from the webservice, mimic, doesn't handle it, and the browser remains "awaiting" for a response, that has actually been back, but hasn't been handled by mimic.. to be more specific, one typical fault response is the following.. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <methodResponse> <fault> <value> <struct> <member> <name>faultCode</name><value><int>104</int></value> </member> <member> <name>faultString</name><value><string>Invalid Input Parameters</string></value> </member> </struct></value></fault></methodResponse> and chrome console get me the error mimic.js:11 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'childNodes' of null any suggestions on how to handle "fault" responses? mimic.js hasn't been altered at all.. also tried to bypass the fact that mimic can't handle the fault, by trying to use the isFault flag, in the if statement, with no success either.. isFault is supposed to get a boolean value, i guess true/false?
