    When i am trying to transform xml it gives me erro that Could not find function: resolve-uri where resolve-uri is a xpath function . below is my xslt line which will use resolve uri function . <xsl:variable name="filename" select="resolve-uri(concat($dir,'/',$xmlFileName,'_',position(),'.xml'))" /> Can anybody please help me.Is it because of xslt version difference ?     I ran into a problem in IE8 today (Note that I only need to support IE) that I can't seem to explain: detachEvent wouldn't work when using a named anonymous function handler. document.getElementById('iframeid').attachEvent("onreadystatechange", function onIframeReadyStateChange() { if (event.srcElement.readyState != "complete") { return; } event.srcElement.detachEvent("onreadystatechange", onIframeReadyStateChange); // code here was running every time my iframe's readyState // changed to "complete" instead of only the first time }); I eventually figured out that changing onIframeReadyStateChange to use arguments.callee (which I normally avoid) instead solved the issue: document.getElementById('iframeid').attachEvent("onreadystatechange", function () { if (event.srcElement.readyState != "complete") { return; } event.srcElement.detachEvent("onreadystatechange", arguments.callee); // code here now runs only once no matter how many times the // iframe's readyState changes to "complete" }); What gives?!   • [PHP] Difference between normal and magic setters and getters

    I am using a magic getter/setter class for my session variables, but I don't see any difference between normal setters and getters. The code: class session { public function __set($name, $value) { $_SESSION[$name] = $value; } public function __unset($name) { unset($_SESSION[$name]); } public function __get($name) { if(isset($_SESSION[$name])) { return $_SESSION[$name]; } } } Now the first thing I noticed is that I have to call $session->_unset('var_name') to remove the variable, nothing 'magical' about that. Secondly when I try to use $session->some_var this does not work. I can only get the session variable using $_SESSION['some_var']. I have looked at the PHP manual but the functions look the same as mine. Am I doing something wrong, or is there not really anything magic about these functions.

I have tested the foo() function manually with the returned ID's and it does not have that problem, so I realize I must not understand something about the evaluation of the query.

    I'm trying to create a url shortener system in c# and asp.net mvc. I know about hashtable and I know how to create a redirect system etc. The problem is indexing long urls in database. Some urls may have up to 4000 character length, and it seems it is a bad idea to index this kind of strings. The question is: How can I create a unique short string for each url? for example MD5 can help me? Is MD5 really unique for each string? NOTE: I see that Gravatar uses MD5 for emails, so if each email address is unique, then its MD5 hashed value is unique. Is it right? Can I use same solution for urls?

    I want to use the append() function from inside the <head>, in a function to be specific, like so: function custom_img(src_img) { $("div").append("<img src='"+src_img+"'>"); } var myimg = new custom_img("test.jpg"); This is a quick example that I just wrote out. I want my function to make a new image like that every time I create a new object like this. Obviously this doesn't work, since the append() requires to be in the body (I've tried this). How would I do this?

    Good morning all, I'm working on an MD5 file integrity check tool in C#. How long should it take for a file to be given an MD5 checksum value? For example, if I try to get a 2gb .mpg file, it is taking around 5 mins+ each time. This seems overly long. Am I just being impatient?     I got this idea from XKCD's Hofstadter comic; what's the best way to create a conditional loop in (any) Lisp dialect that executes a function until it returns NIL at which time it collects the returned values into a list. For those who haven't seen the joke, it's goes that Douglas Hofstadter's “eight-word” autobiography consists of only six words: “I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym” containing continuation of the joke: (some odd meta-paraprosdokian?) “Is Meta” — the joke being that the autobiography is actually “I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym Is Meta”. But why not go deeper?
