• Run an application only compatible with 32-bit on 64-bit machine

  Title's pretty explanatory. I have an application(Second Life) that isn't compatible with 64-bit windows 7. It says that it is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 but only the 32-bit version of 7. I need to know if it's possible for me to download something to make the application compatible with my computer. I've run troubleshooters and ran it as windows compatible XP service pack 2 and tried again with service pack 3.

• Will Windows XP work on a Hybrid Hard Drive?

  I'm looking into getting the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid hard drive, and I'm planning on dual booting between Windows 7 and Windows XP. I know 7 and Vista have native support for taking advantage of the SSD portion of a hybrid drive, and I assume XP does not have any such support, but will XP still work on the drive? I would think it will, but I wanted to be sure, and the Googles are coming up empty for me on this one. Thanks!

• Dead laptop screen rewired to external only right from boot-up?

  I have a Compaq CQ50-215CA laptop and after a year and 5 months, the screen is completely distorted now. I plan on removing the screen soon, but I realize that the BIOS screen, OS select and Vista boot sequence are all displayed on the laptop screen rather than the external display. Is there some way to get the laptop to display everything (From boot-up to shutdown) on an external display (VGA port)?

• Secure email crashes Outlook 2007

  I have a number of secure emails sent to my Outlook 2007 client. Most arrive fine and display the prompt with regards to granting access to the certificate and then open. Today I received two that crash Outlook whenever I try to open them. I've tried restarting Outlook and my computer but still have the same problem. Any ideas what might be causing this, and how I can fix it? I'm working on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

  I was thinking of setting up a partition on my Vista comp and installing Linux on that partition. I was gonna install Ubuntu on this partition. I was wondering if the equipment I have (i.e. video card, mouse, keyboard, network card) would be potentially unable to work on a linux platform? Any advice on doing this? • Migrating Terminal Server profiles from 2003 to 2008 R2 "V2"

  I've done some searching and there doesn't appear to be a method of migrating old 2003 based profiles to the new "V2" profiles automatically. Specifically, we're interested in retaining the <Profile>.NK2 file in Outlook, the Favorites folder, and the Signatures folder. I'm in the process of writing a fairly complicated migration script that'll be executed at login, but seems like this is something that I shouldn't have to do. The User Migration Tool appears to only work for Vista, not 2008 R2. Any other ideas?

  I just installed windows 7 on dell 4600 desktop. the Audio card is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I've look all over, and I can't find a driver for windows 7. I've also looked at Vista Drivers. It seems Dell is not supporting Windows 7 with this computer. I've got a work around, but would like a driver if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

  I currently just bought a new USB headset to replace my old mic. I put everything in order today and i can hear people talk when i'm logged in through Ventrilo, however, i get no game sounds or music playing from anything else. This would let me send arbitrary files to gVim for editing. Under Windows 7 64-bit, I have installed gVim -- twice, as it happens -- and there's no menu item. How do I add an option to send arbitrary files to gVim for viewing/editing?

  What is the best method to rip/encode a standard definition DVD, to be streamed to a Xbox360 from a Vista Media Center pc (preferably using free software). I’ve found tons of tutorials on the web explaining how to create wmv’s from vob files using FFMpeg, but every combination of settings that I have tried has resulted in very poor video quality.   I downloaded the huge Windows 7 .iso file and burnt it to a DVD. I then used that DVD to install Windows 7 on my machine and then realized that I the .iso file was on the Vista operating system that I replaced with Windows 7 (didn't upgrade). So now I would like to get the .iso file back but with the same key, etc. How can I convert the DVD I burned back into an .ISO file?
