  • Reject recipient in postfix mail relay

    I have about 3 knows email addresses in my domain, which don't exist and to which a lot of spam is sent. Some of this spam is pretty heavy, and I'm wasting a lot of traffic on it, so I don't want to even receive emails if their destination is one of those 3 addresses. Since I know that the users don't exist I would like postfix to reject emails during RCPT TO: negotiation. Basically, all I want is to update some config with those 3 addresses, and every email sent to them must fail to come in. I want to stress out following: postfix works as a relay for domain, there is no local users postfix has no knowledge about validity of other emails within domain, so it cannot simply reject unknown recipients

  • Windows Task Scheduler fails at sending e-mail

The old router is 10.0.32.1, our company wanted to implement a squid proxy to better monitor web traffic while at work, and if necessary block large time-wasters, IE Facebook.com. However, we've quickly realized that this change has played a mean prank on our Polycom SIP Phones. Occasionally our phones will not ring, the end recipient hears ringing (this is artificially created by our PBX) however the handset never rings. The ONLY thing that has changed in our network is the option routers line. So, Since all Polycom MAC addresses begin with 00:04:F2 would it be possible in DHCP to say any 00:04:F2:::* MAC addresses get option routers 10.0.32.1, and anything else must talk with our Gateway?

    i am using Exim for some years (now i have v4.74 on Ubuntu Server 11.04) with good results, with ClamAV and SpamAssassin. Now i'd like to set up a backup server to improve the continuity of service. Reading the official Exim doc. (specifications and the Philip Hazel book on Exim4 2nd Edition) i don't found a complete guide to implement a synchronized structure (primary + backup).   • E-mail message of failed lock not identifying affected Lotus Notes documents

    I have a user who was sent several messages to his Outlook account with the following subject: Changes made to the database xxxx have NOT been incorporated into the database. There was a conflict detected. Your changes may be found in body of this message. A document link to the original document is attached to the end of the message. Unfortunately, besides the link, the body of the email is blank and the link URL is of this form: Notes:///482567CC001B4104. The link seems to be making reference to the database replica ID and clicking on the link opens up the database and not directly to the affected document. I'm finding that the message is not very useful in terms of identifying the affected document. Can anyone advise me on the ways to identify the affected documents or configure the system so that it would identify/link the affected documents?

  • Unable to receive emails from Ubuntu postfix mail server

    I am unable to receive emails on an Ubuntu 11.04 server running postfix with the Plesk control panel. I can't see the mails even on webmail. I am able to send emails and am not getting any error messages on the email client when I try to receive.   • Get Internal IP Address From DHCP Hostname

    I would like to try and get an internal ip address of one of the computers on my network. The reason for this is I have a little home server box downstairs but every time I want to SSH into it I have to open my router configuration and go on the DHCP client table and look at the IP address. For example I would like to be able to go ssh ell-sever instead of ssh 192.168.1.105 or whatever it happens to be. My network configuration is like so: Router downstairs that is connected to the Internet and is running a DHCP server My server computer (ell-server) is a headless pc connected to the router via ethernet cable. Running Ubuntu 11.04 Server Edition My laptop upstairs (ell-laptop) that is running Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop Edition connected wirelessly Other (irrelevant) computers - 2 x Windows XP, 1 x Xubuntu - all connected with cables. (It seemed to me the method of connection isn't useful information but I put it in anyway - just in case. If I have missed any information please tell me) Do I have to run a DNS server on one of my computers? If so which one? And does that mean I will have to run a DDNS client on each computer?   • Outlook 2007 - Fwd all mail from one mailbox to another email

    I have two separate mailboxes setup in Outlook. My main everyday one (call this A), and another one which is where clients questions go direct to (call this B) I have a few rules setup on my main inbox. I need to setup a new rule to fwd all incoming email to B, to another colleague. If this was for mailbox A, it would not seem to hard and I would basically follow the instructions here. However, I cant see a way of applying rules to separate MailBoxes. - Does anyone know how to do this?

  • Mirroring the Global Address List on Blackberries

    In times immemorial, back in the day when men were men and blackberries still took AA batteries, we rolled them out to our users for our 100 person operation. At that time, there was no such thing as address list lookups, so we were forced to hack a bit. The ingenious hack we came up with was to mirror the GAL as a public folder and then synch up blackberries to that. While there have been a few downsides here and there, they have been mere annoyances. And our users, having grown fat and prosperous in the intervening years, have been used to seeing every single employee and department here listed on their hand-held automatically. Alas, it appears that Outlook 2010 breaks this functionality as Blackberry desktop manager is completely incompatible with it. Moreover, this presents us with an opportunity to change things for the better given that public folders are going away next time we upgrade exchange. So, we are in search of a tool or technique that will allow us to mimic current functionality--that is to: Push an essentially arbitrary list of ~100 contacts to blackberry address books Said list shall be centrally updated Without requiring desktop manager or exchange public folders. Any suggestions, crowd?

  • Gmail for Googleapps mail delivery issues

    I have a google apps domain running gmail. One of the owners of one of the email accounts is complaining that some emails don't get delivered to him. I sent him an email that did not get to its destination on one hand but I got no NDR on the other hand. I have already checked that the email was not on in his spam folder. The only thing that he has there is a forwarding rule that is also set up to leave the original in place. I am looking for any tools or ideas on how to debug this.

    Hey Guys, I'm having some trouble with my Smart Mailbox setup. I've got a Smart Mailbox named "Unread". And Contains messages that match any of the following conditions: Message is Unread Message is not in Mailbox News (AT) lovejungle.com Message is not in Mailbox Info (AT) lovejungle.com For some reasons, it is still displaying messages in either News@ or Info@.   • Mail Permissions on a File Server Resource Manager Server

    In 2008 server the File resource manager can be set up to alert users when they go over their quota etc. This is all configured however the email notifications are not working. They have been configured but the event log shows that the user does not have permission to send to the exchange server. There isnt an option to chosse who to send the email from. Is there a way to get this to work? Thanks
