  • NoSQL or Ehcache caching ?

    I'm building a Route Planner Webapp using Spring/Hibernate/Tomcat and a mysql database, I have a database containing read only data, such as Bus Stop Coordinates, Bus times which is never updated. I'm trying to make the app run faster, each time the application is run it will preform approx 1000 reads to the database to calculate a route. I have setup a Ehcache which greatly improves the read from database times. I'm now setting terracotta + Ehcache distributed caching to share the cache with multiple Tomcat JVMs. This seems a bit complicated. I've tried memcached but it was not performing as fast as ehcache. I'm wondering if a MongoDb or Redis would be better suited. I have no experience with nosql but I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas. What i need is quick access to the read only database.

    My website uses categories and sub-categories. I'd like the follow mapping: /Category/Fruit /Category/Fruit/Apples But if I use the below: routes.MapRoute( "Category", // Route name "Category/{category}/{subcategory}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Entity", action = "Category" } // Parameter defaults ); I get a 404 for /Category/Fruit however /Category/Fruit/Apples works ok. I'd like /Category/Fruit to work as well but I can't add another route with the same name. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance.

    Isn't port forwarding managed by the router? Like, I've googled up some software applications that seem to port forward with great success, but it technically seems to be impossible. The packet must first go to the router. The router must forward it to the correct computer based on port forwarding rules. So how can a software application manage port forwarding if the packet must GO to the computer running this software application in the first place, meaning that port forwarding already is successful in the first place?

    Hey, i'm trying to get a project to work, but i am having trouble with the rewrite module. I'm running Wamp over Windows XP. I changed httpd.conf to change the root of localhost to: DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/project/docroot/" I have htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / my Apache has the rewrite module Activated. my base_url() in config.php is 'http://localhost/' in routes.php i have: $route['default_controller'] = "home"; $route['our-recipes'] = "recipes"; and more pairs when i point the browser to http://localhost/ i get the homepage of my site, but when i click on any internal link like to 'our-recipes' it loads but i get the same homepage, with the new url on the location bar. if i try to access 'http://localhost/recipes' i get the same result. this is my folder structure: Can anyone please solve this for me??

    Is there a way to route traffic to a target WCF service file based on the URL domain requested? Basically, I have a single WCF RESTful services project with 3 service files offering different endpoints. It's hosted on a single IIS6 site looking for multiple host header values on port 80. I want to route traffic to different services files whether the requester is asking for www.site1.com, www.site2.com, or www.site3.com. Seems like the sort of thing I would use a global.asax or HTTP Handler for, but I am not sure since this is a regular WCF Service Application. Even though I am on IIS6 for this project, I don't mind using a URL re-writer and wildcard mapping, if I have to. I have admin rights on the balanced servers where this will reside, I just want to know if there is a common/best practice before I start hacking my way around this.

In particular I've tried: ClickAt DoubleClickAt MouseDownAt MouseUpAt In all cases passing the map div id as the locator and "100,100" as the coordinate. I don't care where on the map the marker is placed, as long as I can place that marker.

  • Urgent Problem: Production site is breaking because of cached routes

    Hi folks, i have an urgent problem. Essentially, my routing works on my localhost. But when i deployed this to production, the routes does not seem to work correctly. For example, given a new route "/invites" - sometimes i will get a 404, and sometimes it will work correctly. I suspect there is some caching going on somewhere, but i am not sure. Can someone help?     I'm trying to get an iPad/iPhone app to run on my iPad. (it builds and runs fine on the simulator) I went through the menu to create a new universal project. Then I added another library that my app will use (route-me), and i keep getting the following linker errors: "___restore_vfp_d8_d15_regs", referenced from: and "___save_vfp_d8_d15_regs", referenced from: I did a search on Google, and found (http://www.badrit.com/blog/2010/6/6/building-route-me-for-ipad) that it's just a matter of matching up project settings in the library projects. I did that but it didn't help. I still keep getting these linker errors. Anyone have any ideas what I can try?

    I want to add to the context a parameter, so when login is called I can use it in the route (similar to _locale). I can add this piece of code in HttpUtils.php (as resetLocale), but i don't find it very clean. The reason I need it is the firewall redirection to the login controller, which I would like to have in its route a customized parameter. My problem is that my listener is called after UrlGenerator::doGenerate is called, so I get a MissingMandatoryParametersException.     What I need to accomplish is: If an anonymous user visits the site, show regular site content. If a user logs in to the site, then user-related content appears in place of the regular content. I would like to accomplish this using the Views module. I have looked at the Premium module, but it seems to be abandoned. To do this, i have one thread for each place in which i select the tiles and create a thread to download each. Well, the question is how to avoid creating a thread for a tile that already exists in the thread pool. Should not just check if the file exists, since it is possible that the thread for that tile already exists (other place already need that tile) but the file has not been created- Any idea? Thanks
