• JSF2 ResourceBundleLoader override?

  I need to have resource messages that contain EL expressions be resolved when loaded from a ResourceBundle. Basically I have a number of properties files containing the text. Some of the text will look like the following: welcomeText=Welcome #{userbean.name} The only possible way I can see this working currently is implementing a custom taglib so that instead of saying: <f:loadBundle var="messages" basename="application.messages"/> I would have to use <mytaglib:loadBundle var="messages" basename="application.messages"/> #{messages.welcomeText} Given a user with username "User1", this should output Welcome User1 My implementation would then use a custom ResourceBundle class that would override handleGetObject, use the ELResolver to resolve variables etc....Ideas? suggestings? Implementations that are already available? I appreciate your assistance.

• What are modern and old compilers written in?

  As a compiler, other than an interpreter, only needs to translate the input and not run it the performance of itself should be not that problematic as with an interpreter. Therefore, you wouldn't write an interpreter in, let's say Ruby or PHP because it would be far too slow. However, what about compilers? If you would write a compiler in a scripting language maybe even featuring rapid development you could possibly cut the source code and initial development time by halv, at least I think so. To be sure: With scripting language I mean interpreted languages having typical features that make programming faster, easier and more enjoyable for the programmer, usually at least. Examples: PHP, Ruby, Python, maybe JavaScript though that may be an odd choice for a compiler What are compilers normally written in? As I suppose you will respond with something low-level like C, C++ or even Assembler, why? Are there compilers written in scripting languages? What are the (dis)advantages of using low or high level programming languages for compiler writing?

• Anobody succeeded in using ICEFaces with jQuery?

  Basically jquery is usable with IceFaces. Then only problem arises when partial updates of the page are used. For example you have a panelgroup where a jquery datepicker element (jquery UI datepicker plugin) is used. If the panelGroup is visible from the beginning it's no problem. The jquery call to jQuery(".datepicker").datepicker finds the input and jquery can do it's magic. But if the panelGroup is shown because of a partial update of the page (because the visible propery is changed) jquery is not called again. Does anybody has a solution to this problem? Basically the idea would be that jquery is run each time the dom has changed.

• jQuery trigger uploadify click event not working in firefox FF

  I want to select an option on a drop down box and for this to trigger the uploadify available to jQuery which lets you upload a file. My solution works in IE7 but not FF. When you change the drop down it should show a window to browse for a file to upload. In FF nothing appears. In IE everything works.   I'm trying to create a simple login window with the very common 'Remember me' functionality. The login validation is done AJAX style, thus the browser won't remember my input. My approach is to use the built-in state functionality, but how to use it confuses me.   I am trying to automate a web page via the weBrowser and the button that i'm trying to click has no ID only a value. here's the html code for it: Accept I can't useGetElementById as the button has no ID.   Hello, I hope that I have come to the right post for a beginner’s question abut Android programming. If not, please feel free to direct me to a better forum. I created a hello world application, and the system generated most of the Android language below. When running the app without the system.out statement, there is no “hello” in the emulator. Then, using the Eclipse tutorial, I read that I can add the system.out.println statement to main. Again the app runs, but there is no output.   I am basically looking to bind a search query to a gridview which is nice, but this must be done by a users input query (sort of like a search function). I can get single values and rows returned, but how would I get it to search all columns in my database for the inputted values and return it? But when I give input like equal([1,2,3],X)., it doesn't show all possible values of X. instead the program hangs in the middle. What could be the reason?

• Ruby GUI (non-complex layouts)

  I've done quite a bit of research on Ruby GUI design, and it appears to be the one area where Ruby tends to be behind the curve. I've explored the options of MonkeyBars, wxRuby, fxRuby, Shoes, etc. and was just wanted to get some input from the Ruby community. While they're definitely usable, the development on each seems to have fallen off. There is not a great deal of useful documentation or user bases that I could find on any (minus the fxRuby book). I'm just looking to make a simple GUI, so I don't really want to spend hundreds of hours learning the intricacies of the more complex tools or attempt to use something that is no longer even being developed (Shoes is the type of application I'm looking for, but it's extremely buggy and not being actively developed.) Out of all of the options, which would you guys recommend as being the quickest to pick up and that still has some sort of development base? Thanks!

  I am using the asp.net web application and microsoft visual studio reportviewer control and rdlc for creating a report ( not using sql server reporting). I used the Product table to view the result. It has five fields and I display all the itemsin the report. One field is Description and it store the html code as the value(eg: <div><ul><li>a</li><li>b</li></ul><b>aaaa</b></div> ). I want to disply the output of this html code in my report's description field. But in my report, it shows the html value that I stored in my table (: <div><ul><li>a</li><li>b</li></ul><b>aaaa</b></div> ). How can I render the html in my report. Please give me a solution.

  Hello, I have a inputStream of a docx file and I need to get hold of the document.xml which lies inside the docx. I am using ZipInputStream to read my stream and my code is something like ZipInputStream docXFile = new ZipInputStream(fileName); ZipEntry zipEntry; while ((zipEntry = docXFile.getNextEntry()) != null) { if(zipEntry.getName().equals("word/document.xml")) { System.out.println(" --> zip Entry is "+zipEntry.getName()); } } As you can see The output for zipEntry.getName comes as "word/document.xml" at some point. I need to pass this document.xml as a stream and unlike the ZipFile method where you can easily pass this on calling .getInputStream, I am wondering how can I do this docXFile? • Random Gui errors using C# Mono on OSX

  Hello. Im developing a app in c# (winforms), which uses mono to run on osx. It contains some dynamic controls, for example a custom groupbox which contains some labels and textboxes, a button etc. these boxes can both be added and removed dynamically. Problem arises both when they are created, and removed, or even when a messagebox is shown. What happens is that sometimes on rendering white boxes appears, or some labels are not drawn correctly. And sometimes when a messagebox appears, it first opens up like 5 dummies which are just blank, and which you cant close. Am i doing something wrong, should i sleep the gui thread a bit after each creation, or should i invalidate stuff on my own? Or should i try GTK#? Many thanks on input on this, Erik

• C# Pragma to suppress break on thrown error

  First off I run my applications with exceptions thrown on any error (handled or not). Second I am using a TypeConverter to convert from a user input string to the actual object. I could use something similar to this but not all the types I'm converting to have a TryParse method either. I'm hoping there may be some way to disable breaking for the section of code within the try without changing my exception settings.

• Problem building dotnetnuke blog module

  I have dnn 5.2 running on my machine, and installed the blog module, the blog module is also reflected in the development environment i have. But i want to find out, how do i actually develope, or build the blog from source, so i can actually output the .dll file, instead of just running it. If i import the Blog project file from the folder, it will give me a host of error like .resx file not found and so on. Does any dotnetnuke expert out there know about this?And have encountered the problem before? If not, how do you actually make the module work so u can make changes to the module. Im talking about core logic change, like adding functions, not just skin or UI changes.
