Building a directory tree from a list of file paths

I am looking for a time efficient method to parse a list of files into a tree. There can be hundreds of millions of file paths. The brute force solution would be to split each path on occurrence of a directory separator, and traverse the tree adding in directory and file entries by doing string comparisons but this would be exceptionally slow. The input data is usually sorted alphabetically, so the list would be something like: C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Amarok\Afile C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Amarok\Afile2 C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Amarok\Afile3 C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Blender\alibrary.dll C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Blender\and_so_on.txt From this ordering my natural reaction is to partition the directory listings into groups... somehow... before doing the slow string comparisons. I'm really not sure. I would appreciate any ideas. Edit: It would be better if this tree were lazy loaded from the top down if possible.

curl object moved here error, bash

I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget)

I'm calling a web API exposed by TheyWorkForYou (TWFI). http://www.theyworkforyou.com/api/ I'm using the Python bindings provided by twfython: http://code.google.com/p/twfython/ I wrote some code to call this API a few months ago, at which time it worked fine. But now I dig it out to run it again, no matter what query I ask of the API, it always returns '{}' (an empty dictionary). Hi, I have a telerik grid which is performing operations like searching,sorting,filtering etc. To make customers happy, we put this control in an ajax panel for seamless experience. Now, we added a new functionality to the grid where the customer can download the entire row information as a csv file. As the response is a file, ajax panel is trying to parse the output and throwing the following exception: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near '?'. Hi, If I have a python script that is executed via a symlink, is there a way that I can find the path to the script rather than the symlink? I've tried using the methods suggested in this question, but they always return the path to the symlink, not the script. Interface member name conflicts in ActionScript 3

I am trying to create an ActionScript 3 class that implements two interfaces. The interfaces contain member functions with different signatures but the same name: public interface IFoo { function doStuff(input:int):void; } public interface IBar { function doStuff(input1:String, input2:Number):void; } public class FooBar implements IFoo, IBar { // ??? } In C# this problem can be solved with explicit interface implementations, but as far as I can tell ActionScript does not have that feature. Is there any way to create a class that implements both interfaces?

i need to display current status of a document approval workflow task in asp.net web page with a specific activity highlighted. i have seen the visual workflow tracker example (in wf&wcf samples) but i have two issues, 1-i have to render workflow in asp.net not in a wpf app. 2-i don't need to display current status with workflow running, all activities that need to highlighted are the one that require user input. e.g. "waiting for approval from department head" etc. if i could just convert the workflow xaml to jpg after highlighting a specific activity by activity id that created a bookmark and waiting to resume the bookmark it would do the work.

WPF DataGridTextColumn Can't type point for float data

I had a WPF DataGrid and use DataGridTextColumn Binding to a Collection. The items in Collection had some float property. When my program launched, I modify the value of float property in DataGrid, if I type a integer value, it works well. But if I type char . for a float value, char . can't be typed. I had to type all the numbers first, and then jump to the . position to type char . to finish my input. So how can I type . in my situation? Thanks.

POJO's versus Cursors in Android

I usually tend to define the model layer of my apps using POJO's, such as Article, Comment, etc. I was about to implement an AlphabetIndexer in the adapter of one of my ListViews. Right now this adapter accepts a Collection of Articles, which I normally get from my wrapper around an SQLiteDatabase. The signature of the AlphabetIndexer constructer is as follows: public AlphabetIndexer (Cursor cursor, int sortedColumnIndex, CharSequence alphabet) Since this doesn't accept a Collection or something similar, just a Cursor, it got me wondering: maybe I shouldn't be creating objects for my model, and just use the Cursors returned from the database? So the question is, I guess: what should I do, represent data with Collections of POJO's, or just work with Cursors throughout my app? Any input?

StringLengthValidator - localization not working

I am validating input to my ASP.NET application using StringLengthValidators, and using the ValidationSummary control to display the error messages. To localize the application, the StringLengthValidators have the MessageTemplateResourceName and MessageTemplateResourceType attributes set. The first time the validator runs, it picks up the correct error message based on the current culture setting. If I change the language setting while running the app, the next time the validator runs, the ValidationSummary it still displays the error message for the old culture. The text for all other controls is being updated correctly. Any ideas, folks?

iPhone Icon file in bundle blank when building for App store distribution

I have been spinning my wheels for a couple hours on why when I build my app with my distribution cert with the device as the target the Icon.png file in the bundle is empty. If I build with my developer cert or against the simulator the Icon.png in the bundle matches the one in my project file. I have verified my Icon.png is 57X57, has no alpha channel, had extra finder attributes removed. I even took one of the Icon.png files from my first application that is in the store today, and it didn't work either. If this is your first incursion into the IObservable/IObserver pattern, this blog post is for you! StreamInsight 1.1 introduced the ability to use IEnumerable and IObservable objects as event sources and sinks. The IEnumerable case is pretty straightforward, since many data collections are already surfacing as this type. This was already covered by Colin in his blog. MathML or OMML to PNG w/ .NET?

Are there any libraries which take MathML (or, even more preferably, OMML) and outputs a .PNG file? I am putting together an export process for .docx files and, as a part of this process, I'd like to extract equations and render them as .PNG files. Word 2007 does this natively when you save a document for the web, but so far, I have not been able to find a way to do this programmatically (if anyone has an answer for that, it would be even better). So the next best thing is to take the OMML and use the Microsoft provided XSL stylesheets and transform them to MathML. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any (working) rendering libraries for either MathML or OMML. If there aren't any pure .NET libraries for this, I'll settle for just about anything that I can call from a commandline to output a .PNG from either MathML or OMML.

OpenCV: How to copy CvSeq data into CvMat?

I have a CvSeq structure at hand, which is the output of an available OpenCV function. This holds 128 bytes of data in each of the sequence elements. I want to copy each of these 128-byte elements into rows of a CvMat structure to form a N-by-128 of type CV_32FC1. What would be the most efficient way to do this? I thought of using memcpy but I couldn't come up with a working solution. For the details, I want to calculate the SURF features in an image by cvExtractSURF() function, and copy the SURF descriptors into a matrix for passing it to the cvKMeans2().

Hello, I want to modify / change the way the floatformat works. By default it changes the input decimal as such: {{ 1.00|floatformat }} -> 1 {{ 1.50|floatformat }} -> 1.5 {{ 1.53|floatformat }} -> 1.53 I want to change this abit as such: If there is a floating part, it should keep the first 2 floating digits. If no floating (which means .00) it should simply cut out the floating part. IE: {{ 1.00|floatformat }} -> 1 {{ 1.50|floatformat }} -> 1.50 {{ 1.53|floatformat }} -> 1.53

DualLayout for SharePoint 2010 WCM is a solution to provide you with complete HTML freedom in your SharePoint Server 2010 publishing pages. In this post I provide a quick start guide to get you up and running quickly so you can try it out for yourself. This quick start creates a simple HTML5 site with a page to show-case the basics and the power of DualLayout. We will create the site in its own web application. Normally there are many things you have to do to create a clean start point for your SharePoint 2010 WCM site. All those steps will be provided in later posts. For now we want to give you the minimal set of steps to take to get DualLayout working on your machine. Create an authenticated web application with hostheader cms.html5demo.local on port 80 for the cms side of the site. Click the Create Site Collection link on the Application Created dialog box and create a Site Collection based on the Publishing Portal site template. Before we can click the site link in the Top-Level Site Successfully Created dialog we need to add the new host header cms.html5demo.local to the hosts file. Add the following line to the hosts file: 127.0.0.1 cms.html5demo.local Navigate to the site at http://cms.html5demo.local to see the out-of-the-box example Adventure Works publishing site. Download and add the DualLayout solution package designfactory.duallayout.sps2010.trial.1.2.0.0.wsp to the farm’s solution store: On the Start menu, click All Programs. Click Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products. Click SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.
