• Looking for some help with GWT/Derby in Eclipse

  I'm attempting to learn AJAX via this site. I've made it down to the section where it says "you must put the code in the onModuleLoad()" (right above listing 4). I found two areas in my Eclipse project that mention onModuleLoad(): slicr.java and the actual EntryPoint.class file in the gwt-user.jar/com.google.gwt.core.client package. When I try to add the contents of listing for to slicr.java, I get tons of cannot be resolved to a type errors and I cant add anything to EntryPoint.class as it appears to be locked from editing. I really appreciate any help someone could give me!

• Encountering NullPointerException when trying to add polynoms

  I need to add two polynomials, which is composed of two ints. For example, the coefficient and the exponent 3x^2 would be constructed using 3 and 2 as parameters. I am getting a NullPointerException but I can't figure out why. • Lining up Divs, while using JQuery

  I am trying to create a flash header like element in JQuery, that has three images that fade to other images. I have each group of images in a div, but the divs line up vertically down the page, I want them to line up horizontally in a row. • sequence generators are getting ignored

  I'm getting the following error while saving a object. However similar configuration is working for other model objects in my projects. This is horrible. I've specified the identifierGenerator as "Auto". Please see the above code. As a sidenote, I was trying to debug and seeing how the objects are getting retrieved from the database. Looks like the enrollmentgroupmembership records have the tierweight value populated. However if I look at the tierweight object, it doesn't have the enrollmentgroupmembership records. I'm puzzled. I think these two problems must be related. Maddy.

• How to Work Around Limitations in Generic Type Constraints in C#?

  Okay I'm looking for some input, I'm pretty sure this is not currently supported in .NET 3.5 but here goes. I want to require a generic type passed into my class to have a constructor like this: new(IDictionary<string,object>) so the class would look like this public MyClass<T> where T : new(IDictionary<string,object>) { T CreateObject(IDictionary<string,object> values) { return new T(values); } } But the compiler doesn't support this, it doesn't really know what I'm asking. Some of you might ask, why do you want to do this? Well I'm working on a pet project of an ORM so I get values from the DB and then create the object and load the values. I thought it would be cleaner to allow the object just create itself with the values I give it. As far as I can tell I have two options: 1) Use reflection(which I'm trying to avoid) to grab the PropertyInfo[] array and then use that to load the values. 2) require T to support an interface like so: public interface ILoadValues { void LoadValues(IDictionary values); } and then do this public MyClass<T> where T:new(),ILoadValues { T CreateObject(IDictionary<string,object> values) { T obj = new T(); obj.LoadValues(values); return obj; } } The problem I have with the interface I guess is philosophical, I don't really want to expose a public method for people to load the values. Using the constructor the idea was that if I had an object like this namespace DataSource.Data { public class User { protected internal User(IDictionary<string,object> values) { //Initialize } } } As long as the MyClass<T> was in the same assembly the constructor would be available. I personally think that the Type constraint in my opinion should ask (Do I have access to this constructor? I do, great!) Anyways any input is welcome.

  I am having a problem with "same individuals property" in protege, when i run a reasoner (pellet 1.5 or fact++) Lets take ontology example thing has class sons A and B, A has sons C and D. B, C and D have individuals of the same class. Cant i say a individual C is "same individual" as individual B, and then add also individual D is "same individual" as individual B. Wich is true, they have diferent names, but they are same individual.. Why does it only work when i set individual B has "same individual" of type C or D? The protege error is "InconsistentOntologyException:Fact++.Kernel: inconsistent Ontology" and pellet says ontology is inconsistent. EDIT: Seems its a more deep rooted problem, this example works :(, gonna keep checking. EDIT2: After some more experimenting, seems its a conflict with DataType properties. They all share a DataType properties with same name. In the example domain of property would be A and range string. Any idea how to solve?

  Hi, I'm starting a new project. It will run on devices running Windows CE, Windows Mobile 6 and will also have a desktop version. The software will connect to some equipments through the serial port, using it's own protocol. Basically it will: connect to the equipment send and receive info read and write binary files These tasks will be shared between desktop and mobile devices. I've been searching the information I need, but I still have some doubts: If I target Windows CE devices it will work with Windows Mobile 6 too? Creating a class library targeting Windows CE will give me any trouble on using it in the desktop version? (when I add a reference to that class library, my VS says that I could experience some unexpected results) Is it possible to install .NET CF 3.5 on devices running Windows CE 4.2? Thanks!

• why message box is always hidden behind main dialog and cannot be shown on the top

  I am using MFC to write a GUI application. I chose dialog-based application, and put picture control, edit box and buttons on it. When the picture control is mapped to the class derived from CWnd using DDX_Control, all the message boxes (including default system message box pop up when you enter invalid input in the edit box) are hidden behind main dialog until you use "alt + tab" to bring them to front. If I map the picture control to the default CStatic class, the above problem disappeared. Do anyone has some hints to solve this problem? Thank you in advance for any help.

  Hi i have a document from which i am trying to extract a date. But the problem is within the node along with the date their is some text too. Something like <div class="postHeader"> Posted on July 20, 2009 9:22 PM PDT </div> From this tag i just want the date item not the Posted on text. something like ./xhtml:div[@class = 'postHeader'] is getting everything. and to be precise, the document i have is basically a nodelist of this elements for eg i will get 10 nodes of these elements with different date values but to be worse the problem is sometime inside these tags some random other tags also pops us like anchors etc. Can i write a universal expath which will just get the date out of the div tag?

  Hi, I am creating an xml using php and parsing that xml in iphone application code. In description field there is some html tags and text. I am using following line to convert this html tags in to xml tag using CDATA. $response .= '<desc><![CDATA['.trim($feed['fulltext']).']]></desc>'; Now, here my $feed['fulltext'] value is like this <span class="ABC">...text...</span> In xml I am getting following response, <desc><![CDATA[><span class"ABC">...text...</span>]]></desc> You can see here, I am getting an extra greater-than symbol just before the value of $feed['fulltext'] starts.   I have a wxPython application with the various GUI classes in their own modules in a package called gui. With this setup, importing the main window would be done as follows: from gui.mainwindow import MainWindow This looked messy to me so I changed the __init__.py file for the gui package to import the class directly into the package namespace: from mainwindow import MainWindow This allows me to import the main window like this: from gui import MainWindow This looks better to me aesthetically and I think it also more closely represents what I'm doing (importing the MainWindow class from the gui "namespace"). The reason I made the gui package was to keep all the GUI stuff together. I could have just as easily made a single gui module and stuffed all the GUI classes in it, but I think that would have been unmanageable. The package now appears to work like a module, but allows me to separate the classes into their own modules (along with helper functions, etc.).
