  • How to run a custom action after install which can run in quiet or a UI after Install (WIX)

    - by Jamie
Hi, I basically want to able to run an command line tool that already exists on the desired machine against the directory the files were run to. I.e The Installer does the following: Specify a location for the files to go into (INSTALLOCATION variable) Then after copying has finished run a tool which will zip the files and attach them to attach them to another application. <CustomAction Id="InstallTo" Return="check" Directory="INSTALLLOCATION" Execute="immediate" ExeCommand='"C:\MyTool\Here\Tool.exe" -ad [INSTALLLOCATION] Poop 1.0'/> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action="InstallTo" After="InstallFinalize">$InstallTo&gt;2</Custom> </InstallExecuteSequence> At the moment I'm not sure anyuthing is being called, is there a way to basically have this two step install and report progress if the tool failed/doesn't exist etc. Thanks, Jamie

  • Weird Rails URL issue when rendering a new action

    - by Tony
I am rendering a new action but somehow getting the "index" URL. To be more specific, my create action looks like this: class ListingsController < ApplicationController def create @listing = Listing.new(params[:listing]) @listing.user = @current_user if @listing.save redirect_to @listing else flash[:error] = "There were errors" render :action => "new" end end end When there are errors, I get the "new" action but my URL is the index URL - http://domain.com/listings Anyone know why this would happen? My routes file is fairly standard: map.connect 'listings/send_message', :controller => 'listings', :action => 'send_message' map.resources :listings map.root :controller => "listings" map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format'

  • Knockout with ASP.Net MVC2 - HTML Extension Helpers for input controls

    - by Renso
Goal: Defining Knockout-style input controls can be tedious and also may be something that you may find obtrusive, mixing your HTML with data bind syntax as well as binding your aspx, ascx files to Knockout. The goal is to make specifying Knockout specific HTML tags easy, seamless really, as well as being able to remove references to Knockout easily. The third overloaded method does it client-side via the viewmodel. The first two overloads can be done when you have no requirement to add complex JSON objects to your lists. Furthermore, why render and parse the JSON object when you can have it all built and rendered server-side like any other list control.

  • Trouble deciding how to add popup menu to eclipse plugin using either action ObjectContributions or command handlers

    - by user1808408
The issue is this: Most things I read on the web says that we should avoid actions when creating popup menus because the command framework allows for more decoupling. Example: http://wiki.eclipse.org/FAQ_What_is_the_difference_between_a_command_and_an_action%3F Fair enough. But I am having a heck of a time getting the command framework to add my menu when I right click on a .java file inside the editor, and only when I click inside the editor. I can get the menu to show (using 'with' and the activeEditor variable), but it also shows when I right click on the java file inside the package explorer, which I don't want. I suspect it's because the file is already open inside the editor. I also have a menu that gets added when I right click on the java file inside the package explorer, using IComplilationUnit. That works fine. So my problem is solved using a popup menu action for when I click inside the file. I also get access to to all the ISelection stuff there. But the coupling is to high and I lose the flexability of using handlers. I'm looking for either: Tell me I'm doing it the only way possible; or Tell me how to have my popup appear only when I right click on the java file editor. Regards

  • Asp.NET MVC ActionFilter cannot get Form Submit data

    - by Goden
I want to use custom action filter to manipulate parameters to one action. User inputs: 2 names in a form ; Action: actually needs to take 2 ids; Action Filter (onExecuting, will verify the input names and if valid, convert them into 2 ids and replace in the routedata) because i don't want to put validation logic in Action Controller. here's part of the code: Routing Info routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index"} // Parameter defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "RelationshipResults", // Route Name "Relationship/{initPersonID}/{targetPersonID}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Relationship", action = "Results" }); Form to submit (Create 2 input box and submit via jquery) <% using (Html.BeginForm("Results", "Relationship", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "formSearch" })) {% ... <td align="left"><%: MvcWeibookWeb.Properties.Resource.Home_InitPersonName%></td> <td align="right"> <%= Html.TextBox("initPersonName")%></td> <td rowspan="3" valign="top"> <div id="sinaIntro"> <%: MvcWeibookWeb.Properties.Resource.Home_SinaIntro %> <br /> <%: MvcWeibookWeb.Properties.Resource.Genearl_PromotionSina %> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" width="90px"><%: MvcWeibookWeb.Properties.Resource.Home_TargetPersonName%></td> <td align="right"><%= Html.TextBox("targetPersonName")%></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="right"> <a href="#" class="btn-HomeSearch" onclick="$('#formSearch').submit();"><%: MvcWeibookWeb.Properties.Resource.Home_Search%></a> </td> Action Filter public override void OnActionExecuting(ActionExecutingContext filterContext) { Sina.Searcher searcher = new Sina.Searcher(Sina.Processor.UserNetwork); String initPersonName, targetPersonName; // form submit names, we need to process them and convert them to IDs before it enters the real controller. initPersonName = filterContext.RouteData.Values["initPersonName"] as String; targetPersonName = filterContext.RouteData.Values["targetPersonName"] as String; // do sth to convert it to ids and replace Action/Controller [ValidationActionFilter] [HandleError] public ActionResult Results( Int64 initPersonName, Int64 targetPersonName) { ... • The Best Tools for Enhancing and Expanding the Features of the Windows Clipboard

    - by Lori Kaufman
The Windows clipboard is like a scratch pad used by the operating system and all running applications. When you copy or cut some text or a graphic, it is temporarily stored in the clipboard and then retrieved later when you paste the data. We’ve previously showed you how to store multiple items to the clipboard (using Clipboard Manager) in Windows, how to copy a file path to the clipboard, how to create a shortcut to clear the clipboard, and how to copy a list of files to the clipboard. There are some limitations of the Windows clipboard. Only one item can be stored at a time. Each time you copy something, the current item in the clipboard is replaced. The data on the clipboard also cannot be viewed without pasting it into an application. In addition, the data on the clipboard is cleared when you log out of your Windows session. NOTE: The above image shows the clipboard viewer from Windows XP (clipbrd.exe), which is not available in Windows 7 or Vista. However, you can download the file from deviantART and run it to view the current entry in the clipboard in Windows 7. Here are some additional useful tools that help enhance or expand the features of the Windows clipboard and make it more useful. Can Dust Actually Damage My Computer? • New Whitepaper: Upgrading EBS 11i Forms + OA Framework Personalizations to EBS 12

    - by Sara Woodhull
Personalizations are -- and have always been -- one of the safest and most upgradable ways to "customize" your Oracle E-Business Suite screens, both for Oracle Forms-based screens and for Oracle Application Framework-based pages. However, the upgrade from Release 11i to Release 12.1 spans many years of EBS evolution, during which time Oracle has actively been building many new features and modules. A lot has changed in Oracle E-Business Suite that may affect upgrading your personalizations from 11i to 12.1. We have published a new note on My Oracle Support that discusses ways to evaluate your existing personalizations:Upgrading Form Personalizations and OA Framework Personalizations from Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i to 12.1 (Note 1292611.1)Two distinct types of personalizations There are two distinct types of personalizations: Form Personalization OA Framework Personalization. Both types of personalization are completely metadata-based. The personalizations are stored as data in database tables. However, because the underlying technologies (Oracle Forms and OA Framework) are very different, Forms personalizations and OA Framework personalizations are not equivalent and cannot be converted or migrated from one to the other.

  • Identifying Data Model Changes Between EBS 12.1.3 and Prior EBS Releases

    - by Steven Chan
The EBS 12.1.3 Release Content Document (RCD, Note 561580.1) summarizes the latest functional and technology stack-related updates in a specific release.  The E-Business Suite Electronic Technical Reference Manual (eTRM) summarizes the database objects in a specific EBS release.  Those are useful references, but sometimes you need to find out which database objects have changed between one EBS release and another.  This kind of information about the differences or deltas between two releases is useful if you have customized or extended your EBS instance and plan to upgrade to EBS 12.1.3. Where can you find that information?Answering that question has just gotten a lot easier.  You can now use a new EBS Data Model Comparison Report tool:EBS Data Model Comparison Report Overview (Note 1290886.1)This new tool lists the database object definition changes between the following source and target EBS releases:EBS 11.5.10.2 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.0.4 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.1.1 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.1.2 and EBS 12.1.3For example, here's part of the report comparing Bill of Materials changes between 11.5.10.2 and 12.1.3:

  • Choosing the Right JDeveloper Release for Your EBS Environment

    - by Sara Woodhull
Oracle E-Business Suite developers use a special build of Oracle JDeveloper. This build contains the correct Oracle Application Framework (OA Framework or OAF) libraries corresponding to a specific version of Oracle E-Business Suite (specifically, to an ATG patch level). For customers and developers who are building OA Framework components and extensions to Oracle E-Business Suite, one of the first questions is "How do I find the right version of JDeveloper?"Oracle makes these OA Framework/JDeveloper builds available in separate patches when a new ATG patch level is released.   A handy My Oracle Support Document shows the ATG patch levels and the corresponding patch containing the correct version of JDeveloper with the right versions of OA Framework libraries:How to find the correct version of JDeveloper to use with eBusiness Suite 11i or Release 12.x (Doc ID 416708.1)

  • 2.5D action RPG game

    - by Phorden
I want to make a 2.5D action RPG game in the next say five years. I need to learn a language first and I have started with C#. I haven't gotten too far into learning it and I would like advice on the best way to approach making a game like this in the long run. Work with XNA studios or stop and learn C++ and UDK? Or maybe there is another good way to approach this. I want to learn programming, so just using a visual editor without learning to code is not the way I want to go. I also don't want to write my game engine from scratch. I'm all ears for advice.

  • Running an a single action on multiple sprites at the same time

    - by Stephen
Ok so I have created a spiraling animation for a football and I want to be able to run it on 2 sprites at the same time. This is what I have done. CCAnimation* footballAnim = [CCAnimation animationWithFrame:@"Football" frameCount:60 delay:0.005f]; spiral = [CCAnimate actionWithAnimation:footballAnim]; CCRepeatForever* repeat = [CCRepeatForever actionWithAction:spiral]; [Sprite1 runAction: repeat]; [Sprite2 runAction: repeat]; but it only runs the action on the first sprite. What am I doing wrong?

  • How to use call web service action in SharePoint2013 workflow

    - by ybbest
In SharePoint2013, you can use call web service action and loop. In this post, I will show you how to achieve this. 1. Create a List workflow called CallWebService 2. Create a variable called listurl and assign the value to http://sp2010/_vti_bin/listdata.svc 3. Create a dictionary variable called RequestHeaders and add the following key value pairs. 4. Call the web service with the HttpHeaders you just build in the previous step and store the response in the variable ResponseContent. 5. The ResponseContent variable is the Dynamic values (in SharePoint designer it will be called dictionary type) and it is new feature for SharePoint2013 workflow. We can use the following actions to count the number items in the variable. 6. You can use loop in SharePoint 2013 workflow and out each list title as shown below.
