  • mouseover producing multiple images works in Firefox, but not i.e.

    - by tcantrel
    The code below allows the user to hover over 1 object and it not only replaces the object but also shows an additional object between the buttons. It works great in Firefox, but does not in Internet Explorer. HELP webpage: http://www.isp.ucar.edu/ Thx, Terri if ( < ocument.images) { img1on = new Image(); img1on.src = "images/buttons/button-beachon-on.gif"; img1off = new Image(); img1off.src = "images/buttons/button-beachon.gif"; img2on = new Image(); img2on.src = "images/buttons/button-bgs-on.gif"; img2off = new Image(); img2off.src = "images/buttons/button-bgs.gif"; img3on = new Image(); img3on.src = "images/buttons/button-iam-on.gif"; img3off = new Image(); img3off.src = "images/buttons/button-iam.gif"; img4on = new Image(); img4on.src = "images/buttons/button-nvia-on.gif"; img4off = new Image(); img4off.src = "images/buttons/button-nvia.gif"; img5on = new Image(); img5on.src = "images/buttons/button-utls-on.gif"; img5off = new Image(); img5off.src = "images/buttons/button-utls.gif"; img6on = new Image(); img6on.src = "images/buttons/button-water-on.gif"; img6off = new Image(); img6off.src = "images/buttons/button-water.gif"; img7on = new Image(); img7on.src = "images/buttons/button-exploratory-on.gif"; img7off = new Image(); img7off.src = "images/buttons/button-exploratory.gif"; // second image that does not appear in original button space img1ad = new Image(); img1ad.src = "images/buttons/beachon-overview-sm.gif"; img2ad = new Image(); img2ad.src = "images/buttons/bgs-overview-sm.gif"; img3ad = new Image(); img3ad.src = "images/buttons/iam-overview-sm.gif"; img4ad = new Image(); img4ad.src = "images/buttons/nvia-overview-sm.gif"; img5ad = new Image(); img5ad.src = "images/buttons/utls-overview-sm.gif"; img6ad = new Image(); img6ad.src = "images/buttons/water-overview-sm.gif"; img7ad = new Image(); img7ad.src = "images/buttons/exploratory-overview-sm.gif"; } function imgOn(imgName) { if ( < ocument.images) { document[imgName].src = eval(imgName + "on.src"); document["holder"].src = eval(imgName + "ad.src"); } } function imgOff(imgName) { if ( < ocument.images) { document[imgName].src = eval(imgName + "off.src"); document["holder"].src = "images/buttons/isp-overview-sm.gif"; } }

  • Computer Vision Website Image Slideshow help

    - by msandbot
    Hi, I'm making an online display of the output of a computer vision algorithm. After running the algorithm I am left with a folder of about 1000 16 bit .tiff files. I need to put those on the website in a list for so that the researchers can click through and find the list. Also there needs to be an image frame with an "animated gif" feel that can be started stopped and played in reverse. Any ideas on the best way to do this? What language to use? I made a simple website in Ruby on Rails but I don't know if it has the capabilities to do what I require.

  • Jquery / PHP - pre-loading next page before navigating to it.

    - by Tim
    Hey all Using jQuery, is there a way to prevent going to the next page until the animation has finished AND the next page has completely loaded (including images)? The code below works but it is a bit clunky. You can see what I am trying to achieve here: http://bit.ly/aOeYgE The first three or so pages work. But when you click to go to the homepage a few times (after it's cached) you will see that it jumps, and the animation isn't very smooth. As you can see with the code below, the height is immediately set to 0, then when the page has loaded the height is set to 500px. When users navigate to a new page, the height should go back to 0, the next page content should load, and then upon loading the new window, the first bit of code will run again to set the width back to 500px. $(".content-center").css({"height": "0px"}); $(window).load(function() { if($('.content-center').is(':not(:animated)')) { $('.content-center').animate({height: "500px"}, 450); } }); $("a").click(function(event){ $(".content-center").animate({height: "0px"}, 500); if($('.content-center').is(':not(:animated)')) { navigate($(this).attr('href')); event.preventDefault(); } }); If anyone has any suggestions or alternative ideas to this code then it would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks Tim

  • jQTouch animated table cell hight

    - by Brett
    Hi everybody, I am using jQTouch to show a table list. When a cell (really a < li tag in jQTouch) is clicked, I would like to animate the height of the cell down to 0, then hide the element. I have tried using jquery.animate() for this, and it works on firefox/chrome/opera, but it is super slow on the iPhone. Does anyone have any idea how to use -webkit-animate (or some iPhone compatible framework, such as jQTouch), to do this? Thanks, Brett

  • CSS animated menu

    - by Andrea
    I am trying to obtain something similar to the "share this on..." menu here but I don't quite understand how they are doing this, even after a look at their CSS. I refer to the fact that the images show up on hover. My first attempt would be something like <div id="share_on"> <ul> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-digg.png" /></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-reddit.png" /></a></li> ... <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-stumbleupon.png" /></a></li> </ul> </div> and the CSS: #share_on {overflow: hidden} #share_on ul {margin-bottom: -16px} #share_on li {display: inline} #share_on li:hover {margin-top: -16px} Of course this does not work, which is why I am asking here. In the inactive state, only half of the icon shows up, which is the expected behaviour. But on hover, nothing changes. I also have tried some variations, like #share_on li:hover {margin-bottom: 16px} or #share_on li:hover {padding-bottom: 16px} but none of these works. Any ideas?

  • JQUERY: Setting Active state on animated menu tabs

    - by Tony
    I have image sprites that use JQuery to set the BG position on mouseover and mouseout events. When I set the active state BG position using JQUERY it works fine until I move my cursor away from the active 'tab' which then fires the mouseout event animation. What I want is the mouseClick event to stop the animation on the active tab but still allow the animation effect to work on the other tabs, and when another tab is clicked for the active state to be removed from the current tab to the new 'active' tab. JQuery $(function(){ /* This script changes main nav links hover state*/ $('.navigation a') .css( {backgroundPosition: "-1px -120px"} ) .mouseover(function(){ $(this).stop().animate({backgroundPosition:"(-1px -240px)"}, {duration:400}) }) .mouseout(function(){ $(this).stop().animate({backgroundPosition:"(-1px -120px)"}, {duration:400, complete:function (){ $(this).css({backgroundPosition: "-1px -120px"}) }}) }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $("a").click(function(){ $(this).css({backgroundPosition: "-1px -235px"}); }); }); HTML <ul class="navigation"> <li><a href="#index" tabindex="10" title="Home" id="homeButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#about" tabindex="20" title="About us" id="aboutButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#facilities" tabindex="30" title="Our facilities and opening Times" id="facilitiesButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#advice" tabindex="40" title="Advice and useful links" c id="adviceButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#find" tabindex="50" title="How to find Us" id="findButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#contact" tabindex="60" title="Get in touch with us" id="contactButton"></a></li> </ul> You can see what I've got so far here Thanks in advance for any help

  • iPhone UISearchBar animated to top

    - by hurley scott
    There are lots of apps where the searchbar moves upwards if active and moves down when it is inactive. There is a sample code from apple available which works with IB, but how can I achieve this behavior programmatically? Mostly it is combined with a navigationbar which moves out of the screen in replace with the searchbar

  • Animated transitions for jQuery UI's sortable

    - by Heilemann
    Just out of curiosity, as I haven't been able to find anything anywhere; does anyone know of a way to get jQuery UI's sortable function to animate its sorting? What I mean is, when you move an element around the sortable parent, its children, the sortables, skip around instead of smoothly animating to their new position, which besides from being an eyesore can also make it a bit difficult to figure out what has moved where. There's obviously no default option for this, but I was hoping that perhaps someone, somewhere, had a neat solution.

  • animated scroll

    - by Happy
    Using scrollTo plugin to animate scroll effect: http://plugins.jquery.com/project/ScrollTo http://demos.flesler.com/jquery/scrollTo/ Tryed this code: $(".top-scroll").hover(function(){ $("body").scrollTo($(".top-corner"), 2000); },function(){ $("body").stop().scrollTo(); }); It must start to scroll when we hover .top-scroll block (mouseover) and stop when we hover it out (mouseleave). Start works, stop - not. How to fix? Thanks.

  • Blackberry pixel-specific animated focus scrolling

    - by Diego Tori
    Suppose I have a VFM full of both focusable and non-focusable fields. Since most of them are spread out far apart, the movement from one focused field to another is jerky at best, even with NullFields in between. In other words, it just sets the current y position to the next focused field without smoothly scrolling the screen. What I want to achieve is to be able to scroll at a fixed rate between fields, so it it doesn't just focus from one to another that instantaneously. After reading up on how to do this, it is a matter of overriding moveFocus and setting it via a TimerTask from an accessor method to set moveFocus, as per this link. However, I haven't seen a practical implementation of how to do this, complete with the routines that are called in the TimerTask's thread. Is there any way to achieve this type of behavior?

  • animated swap position of two buttons

    - by Jagat
    I am trying to swap the position of two buttons. my swapping code looks as below. private void exchangeButtons(Button btn1, Button btn2) { // Create the animation set AnimationSet exchangeAnimation = new AnimationSet(true); TranslateAnimation translate = new TranslateAnimation( Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn2.getLeft(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn1.getLeft(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn2.getRight(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn1.getRight() ); translate.setDuration(500); exchangeAnimation.addAnimation(translate); // int fromX = btn1.getLeft(); // int fromY = btn1.getRight(); // int toX = btn2.getLeft(); // int toY = btn2.getRight(); Log.d("ArrangeMe", "view1 pos:" + btn1.getLeft() + ", " +btn1.getRight() + "view2 pos:" + btn2.getLeft() + ", " + btn2.getRight()); AnimationSet exchangeAnimation1 = new AnimationSet(true); TranslateAnimation translate1 = new TranslateAnimation( Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn1.getLeft(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn2.getLeft(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn1.getRight(), Animation.RELATIVE_TO_SELF, btn2.getRight() ); translate1.setDuration(500); exchangeAnimation1.addAnimation(translate1); // EXECUTE btn1.startAnimation(exchangeAnimation); btn2.startAnimation(exchangeAnimation1); } I call the code as below exchangeButtons(button1, button2); my layout looks as below what happens when i execute the code is, instead of the buttons exchanging their positions, they just disappear for sometime[may be 500 ms] and reappear as they were originally. how to resolve this problem ? will it work properly in device ? regards

  • Animated transitions in WPF

    - by arconaut
    I can't figure out what I'm missing here. Here's the problem: Consider a (Control|Data)Template with a Trigger that switches visibility of some inner UI elements. E.g. show a TextBlock when IsReadOnly==true and show a TextBox when IsReadOnly==false. Everything is perfect if you do this without animation - one or two setters would do the job. But what if you want a fancy animation? Then you would specify which animations to start in EnterActions and ExitActions. But the problem is what exactly the animations should do? Modifying width/height seems really ugly, because fixed sizes in WPF are almost always a wrong way to go and also it's absolutely unflexible. So far, the best I've come up with is modifying MaxHeight/MaxWidth to some extent, this gives just a little more flexibility but still seems brutal. How do you tell WPF to animate Width/Height of an element from 0 to "as much as needed"? UPD: Currently I do animate Opacity and RenderTransform, and it works. It's just that sometimes I'd like to see animations where elements slide around without transformation. This is not a critical question, but a quite interesting one for me.

  • Browser performance when combining image resizing with animated movement

    - by Steve Reichgut
    I have been tasked with the job of converting a Flash animation into HTML. The animation is rather complex and requires the need to move multiple images (9) from location (x,y) to location (x2,y2) while simultaneously increasing the image size from 215px wide to 930px wide. While doing some initial testing of this animation with just 1-2 images, I noticed a lot of choppiness in FF handling of this animation. To try and isolate the problem, I removed the dynamic resizing of the animation and just moved it from point A to point B. What was interesting was that I saw the same behavior when simply moving a 930px image that was resized down to 215px (via the CSS width or inline width properties). When I try the same animation with a different image that is actually 215px wide, it performed smoothly. I then tried the same animation with the original 930px wide image (with no resizing) and it performed well also. This makes me wonder if the browser is having to "resize" the image down to 215px each time it is moved which is causing the choppiness. Is this a correct assumption? If so, is there any other way to optimize the animation to allow for simultaneous image resizing and image movement? Notes: 1) One optimization I have done is to position the images absolutely in order to minimize the reflow process. 2) I have tested the animation using both jQuery and the fX animation framework.

  • jQuery: How to smooth animated image resizing

    - by nikibrown
    I'm a jQuery noob - so please excuse the probable basicness of this question. I'm doing something pretty simple - on hover animate the position and size of an image. When you mouse over the images there are some noticeable 'jaggies' - is there a way to get rid of this? The jquery code is as follows and a live link is here kristechdev.metropoliscreative.com (hover over the icons). <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('#zoomNav li img').hoverIntent( function() { $(this).animate({'margin-top' :'-35px', 'margin-left' :'-10px', 'height' :'95px','width' : '79px' }, 'fast'); }, function() { $(this).animate({'margin-top' : '0px', 'margin-left' :'0px', 'height' :'70px','width' : '58px' }, 'fast'); }); }); </script>

  • jQuery: Animated header plugin

    - by Fverswijver
    I'm looking for a jQuery plugin that can help me with the following: I have a list of images I want to use for my header but they are pretty big (height especially) and I don't want to resize them to fit my small header div. What I'd want is a plugin that allows the images to start at the bottom of the div (or rather the top of the image at the top of the div) and move upwards so the entire image can be seen, and once up they are shown entirely (bottom of image at bottom of div) they should "blend" (opacity toggle or something alike) with the next image and thus create a continuous loop with all the images. I've looked through several plugins but have never found one that can achieve what I'm looking for (maybe I'm asking for a tad too much) but my JS is not sufficient enough to build it myself. Thanks!

  • Expandable list with animated effect

    - by Naveen Chauhan
    I am using this animation class to create the animation when i shrink and expand the list on some click event import android.view.View; import android.view.animation.Animation; import android.view.animation.Transformation; import android.widget.LinearLayout.LayoutParams; public class ExpandAnimation extends Animation{ private View mAnimatedView; private LayoutParams mViewLayoutParams; private int mMarginStart, mMarginEnd; private boolean mIsVisibleAfter = false; private boolean mWasEndedAlready = false; public ExpandAnimation(View view, int duration){ setDuration(duration); mAnimatedView = view; System.out.println(view.getVisibility()); mViewLayoutParams = (LayoutParams)view.getLayoutParams(); mIsVisibleAfter = (view.getVisibility() == View.VISIBLE); System.out.println("mIsVisibleAfter:- "+ mIsVisibleAfter); mMarginStart = mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin; System.out.println("mMarginStart:- "+ mMarginStart); mMarginEnd = (mMarginStart == 0 ?(0 - view.getHeight()):0); System.out.println("mMarginEnd:- "+mMarginEnd); view.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } @Override protected void applyTransformation(float interpolatedTime, Transformation t){ super.applyTransformation(interpolatedTime, t); System.out.println("mMarginEnd:- "+interpolatedTime); if(interpolatedTime<1.0f){ System.out.println("Inside if true"); mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin = mMarginStart + (int) ((mMarginEnd - mMarginStart)*interpolatedTime); System.out.println("mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin:- "+mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin); mAnimatedView.requestLayout(); }else if(!mWasEndedAlready){ mViewLayoutParams.bottomMargin = mMarginEnd; mAnimatedView.requestLayout(); System.out.println("mIsVisibleAfter:- "+mIsVisibleAfter); if(mIsVisibleAfter){ mAnimatedView.setVisibility(View.GONE); } mWasEndedAlready = true; } } } i am using following lines on some click event in my activity class to create the object of my animation class View toolbar = (View) findViewById(R.id.toolbar1); ExpandAnimation expandani = new ExpandAnimation(toolbar,500); toolbar.startAnimation(expandani); My probem is that when click event occurs, my list expand and then shrink but it must stop when it grows completely and shrink when i click on up image. please let me know that how my animation class is working. i have also tried myself by using SOP statements which you can see in my animation class.

  • jquery animated buttons that just wont behave

    - by TJ Sherrill
    Ok I have a inline list of buttons. <ul id="nav"> <li class="home"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> <li class="contact"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> <li class="about"><a href="#">Menu Item</a></li> </ul> .home{ position:absolute; bottom:0; background-image:url(../img/menu/single_line.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; height:34px; width:134px; } .home_hover{ position:absolute; bottom:0; background-image:url(../img/menu/single_line_over.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; height:70px; width:134px; } $(document).ready(function(){ $("#nav .home").mouseover(function(){ $(this).toggleClass("home_hover").slideToggle("slow"); return false; }).mouseout(function(){ $(this).toggleClass("home_hover").slideToggle("slow"); return false; }); }); Each menu item has a background image, and then when its hovered the background image is replaced by a taller image. Ultimately I am trying to build a simple menu where on mouseover the menu item appears to slide up. But in reality Jquery can animate the toggleClass with slideToggle. The problem is that this current code doesn't behave right. It jumps up and down, because the text is moving. I am pretty new to Jquery so any help is greatly appreciated. I also loaded this up at http://gasworks.ravennainteractive.com/result/ thanks

  • Disable Link while animated Basket

    - by Dante
    Hi, I'm using this script for my online shopping basket: http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/fly-to-basket-effect-with-jquery/. Like people suggest in the comments it's easy buggy when you click multiple times on the same image. How can I disable the img link when it's clicked once and re-enable it when the product is added to the basket? I've tried setting the attribute HREF of to # in the beginning of the function, but that doesn't help. So when a user clicks the function needs to be executed, but the link should be disabled as long as the function is busy. thanks in advance for your help.

  • animated text-shadow

    - by user1026090
    I have some keywords in the header of my website. Every few second I want one of them to glow up with the CSS text-shadow property. However, JQuery animation doesn't seem to support the CSS text-shadow property very well. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/: This is kind of the result that I want, but the glow has to fade in and out. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/1/ With a more common CSS-property, like color, the animation works perfectly, the red color kind of fades in. http://jsfiddle.net/VWBsU/2/ But the CSS text-shadow property doesn't even appear when trying to animate it. Does anyone know how to fade in and fade out a text-shadow property?

  • Animated record deletion with jquery like mootools example

    - by twitter
    I was reading around and saw this example from David Walsh about how to animate record deletion with mootools. Does the exact same effect exist in jquery? This is his mootools code. window.addEvent('domready',function() { $$('a.delete').each(function(el) { el.addEvent('click',function(e) { e.stop(); var parent = el.getParent('div'); var request = new Request({ url: 'mootools-record-delete.php', link: 'chain', method: 'get', data: { 'delete': parent.get('id').replace('record-',''), ajax: 1 }, onRequest: function() { new Fx.Tween(parent,{ duration:300 }).start('background-color', '#fb6c6c'); }, onSuccess: function() { new Fx.Slide(parent,{ duration:300, onComplete: function() { parent.dispose(); } }).slideOut(); } }).send(); }); }); });
