  • Prevent gnome from automatically mounting partition when clicked in nautilus

    Hi, I have two partitions on a hard drive in my machine that are formatted as ntfs, but must under no circumstance be mounted by my Ubuntu installation (unless I do some preparation first). However nautilus happily displays the partitions, and a single click will mount them automatically. This is very dangerous behaviour, how can I hide the partitions from nautilus and prevent accidentally mounting them by a single stray mouse click? Thanks

  • Windows minimizing automatically.

    My computer (running xp sp3) keeps minimizing windows or deselecting them automatically. It's so bad that I can't do anything before the windows close. (typing this on my phone) and no, I'm not prssing alt tab, I'm not touching anything when it happens. Had anybody else had this problem? And if so how did you fix it? Please help my pc is completely unusable because of this.

  • OS X 10.6 won't automatically connect to wireless even though remember network is checked

    Upgraded to 10.6 recently. 10.5 would connect to my home network whenever I was home. 10.6 constantly pops up the network selection dialog and asks me what network I want to join. I click my home network and the password is already entered (so it "remembers" the network). "Remember network" is checked... but it does it every time. How do I get 10.6 to connect to networks automatically whenever it sees them?

When reselecting, Visual Studio will automatically add references to System.Deployment, System.Drawing and System.Windows.Forms C# Create a new project with the Empty Project template (Visual C# - Windows) Go to the project properties, and change the Application type to any of the choices. Visual studio will not add references. Question Is there a way to change this behaviour for Visual Basic?

    Hi, I'm trying to automatically mount a windows share in a Fedora 12 instance (FC12). When I manually mount things work: mount -t cifs //nas01/servers -o username=guest,password=myPassword /mnt/nas01/servers If I update /etc/fstab with the following: //nas01/servers /mnt/nas01/servers cifs username=guest,password=myPassword 0 0 Nothing happens after reboot. The thing that has me baffled is after a reboot if I run: mount -a The share is mounted. Any ideas on this? Thank you, Martin

    I want to define bash functions and aliases in my remote shell automatically on login. I can't put the definitions into .profile or similar because the users I log in as are often shared with others who use the same systems and I don't have control of this. What I'm trying to do is execute a few bash function definitions in the remote process and then continue as a login shell. I tried this but it did not work: cat ~/.profile - | ssh -tt user@host bash -l Any ideas?

    I am trying to find a caller id device/program that will automatically open a browser and append the incoming phone number to a url when receiving a call. For example: https://www.myphonesearchapp.com/search?q=5733655593 This would probably be a usb device that you would run a phone line through that will get caller id and allow you to set custom commands like append the number to a url and launching it in a Browser.     Hi, I'm trying to get ssh to automatically change to a particular directory when I log in. I tried to get that behaviour working using the following directives in ~/.ssh/config: Host example.net LocalCommand "cd web" but whenever I log in, I see the following: /bin/bash: cd web: No such file or directory although though there is definitely a web folder in my home directory. Even using an absolute path gives the same message. To be clear, if I type cd web after logging in I get to the right folder. What am I missing here? EDIT: Different combinations of quotes/absolute paths give different error messages: LocalCommand "cd web" /bin/bash: cd web: No such file or directory LocalCommand cd web /bin/bash: line 0: cd: web: No such file or directory LocalCommand cd /home/gareth/web /bin/bash: line 0: cd: /home/gareth/web: Input/output error This makes me think that the quotes shouldn't be there, and that there's another error happening.

There is no such problem in another sections of document. The one possibility how to display whole area of image is to use floating layout like the first image in presented screenshot. But this solution has disadvantage that I have to manually format image positions after changes in text before.

    I have a problem with my computer turning on automatically. The power switch lights up and the fan keeps running. After a while, a single beep will be heard every minute or so but nothing will display on the monitor. In some cases it will completely turn on and suddenly shut off. What is the problem and how can I fix it? This is a desktop computer running Windows XP.
