  • How do I draw a texture-mapped triangle in MATLAB?

    - by Petter
I have a triangle in (u,v) coordinates in an image. I would like to draw this triangle at 3D coordinates (X,Y,Z) texture-mapped with the triangle in the image. Here, u,v,X,Y,Z are all vectors with three elements representing the three corners of the triangle. I have a very ugly, slow and unsatisfactory solution in which I (1) extract a rectangular part of the image, (2) transform it to 3D space with the transformation defined by the three points, (3) draw it with surface, and (4) finally masking out everything that is not part of the triangle with AlphaData. Surely there must be an easier way of doing this?

  • Making the shadow from a ScatterViewItem a different shape

    - by Vargen
I am developing a program for Surface using Expression Blend and Visual Studio. I have a custom user control with an ellipse and a label in a grid. This will need to be placed in a scatterViewItem. My problem is that the scatterviewitem will cast a rectangle shaped shadow under the ellipse shaped content. I can disable the shadow completely, but is there any way to make the shadow inherit the shape from its parent? Or can i set the shape of the scatterviewItem itself in any way?

  • How can I use a config-file in Expression Blend 4?

    - by sofri
Hi, while trying to use the "InfoStrat"-Bing-Maps-Control in Expression Blend 4 for my Surface Application, I get the error message: "Mixed mode assembly is built against version v2.0.50527 of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information" I already found out that I need to write this configfile: <configuration> <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/> </startup> </configuration> But Expression Blend doesn't seem to recognize that it is there. So how can I solve this problem?

  • WPF: Reset the positions of scatterviewitems?

    - by sofri
Hi, I have a scatterview with some items in it which I place with Orientation und Center. Now I want to have the possibility to reset the positions of the scatterviewitems after scaling, rotating and moving them, while the program is running. At the moment I do it this way: private void Reset_ContactTapGesture(object sender, Microsoft.Surface.Presentation.ContactEventArgs e) { item1.Center = new Point(150,150); item1.Orientation = 15; item1.Width = 100; item1.Height = 150; } Is there a better way to do it?

  • Adding a textblock to a custom wpf control (piepiece control from codeplex)

    - by bomortensen
Hi Stackoverflow! I'm currently building a Surface application where the main navigation is a circular menu. For each menu item I'm using a custom control that I found on codeproject.com: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/PieChartDataBinding.aspx (PiePiece control) The number of submenu items (which is also piepiece controls) comes from a database and thus dynamically loaded. What I can't figure out is how I add a textblock to this custom control to display the submenu item text. It needs to follow the PiePiece's RotationAngle property to line up correctly. Anyone got a hot-fix for this? I was thinking about adding another dependencyproperty to the piepiece custom control, but that way I can't set the font-family, size etc (can I?) Any input on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • wrong font in a RichTextBox importing from .rtf

    - by giacomellow
Hi all, I'm developing a microsoft surface application using expression blend+vs 2008. I have a RichTextBox that loads formatted text from an .rtf file. The text is formatted with uppecases, color, and specific font (helvetica-neue). When i load the text, it is displayed in the control with matching format (color and uppecase) but NOT matching font. it seems to use the standard Blend font (Thaoma). the text is loaded with this function: public static RichTextBox SetRTFText(string text, RichTextBox richTextBox) { MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(ASCIIEncoding.Default.GetBytes(text)); TextRange documentTextRange = new TextRange(richTextBox.Document.ContentStart, richTextBox.Document.ContentEnd); documentTextRange.Load(stream, DataFormats.Rtf ); return richTextBox; } thank you all!

  • How to set up Asus RT-N66U in bridge mode with wired connection to main router?

    - by Milligan
I have a wired router (TP-Link RT-860) in the basement where the cable service comes in. Eight wired ethernet connections span two buildings. I currently have a Linksys wireless router set up in bridge mode, but its signal doesn't span the whole area. I have purchased an Asus RT-N66U to replace it, but I can't figure out how to set it up in bridge mode. Does anyone know if this is possible? Second question: Would there be any advantage in installing DD-WRT on the Asus?

  • Why's a simple change to rt.jar causing the Java Runtime Environment to crash silently?

    - by Tom
This is what I'm doing: extract contents of my JRE's rt.jar extract src.zip of my JDK (same version) Now, if I copy Runtime.java from the extracted src folder and compile it using javac.exe without any modifications and then put it in the extracted rt folder to finally put everything back in a jar file using jar.exe, everything works as expected. The JRE runs fine. However, if I make the slightest change to Runtime.java and compile it and put it in rt.jar, the JRE crashes whenever I attempt to start it. This is an example of a slight change that causes the silent crash: /** Don't let anyone else instantiate this class */ private Runtime() { System.out.println("This is a test."); } Instead of: /** Don't let anyone else instantiate this class */ private Runtime() {} Could anyone tell me why this is causing my JRE to crash? Thanks in advance.

  • Speaking at Mix11

    - by Dennis Vroegop
In April Microsoft will hold the next MIX event. MIX was usually targeted at web designers and developers but has grown over the years to be more a general conference focused on the web and devices. In other words: everything the normal consumer might encounter. It’s not your typical developers conference, although you’ll find many developers there as well. But next to the developers you’ll probably run into designers and user experience specialists as well. This year I am proud to say that I will be one of the people presenting there. Together with all the Surface MVP’s in the world (sounds impressive, but there are only 7 of us) we’ll host a panel discussion on all things Surface, NUI and everything else that matches those subjects. Here’s what the abstract says: The Natural User Interface (NUI) is a hot topic that generates a lot of excitement, but there are only a handful of companies doing real innovation with NUIs and most of the practical experience in the NUI style of design and development is limited to a small number of experts. The Microsoft Surface MVPs are a subset of these experts that have extensive real-world experience with Microsoft Surface and other NUI devices. This session is a panel featuring the Microsoft Surface MVPs and an unfiltered discussion with each other and the audience about the state of the art in NUI design and development. We will share our experiences and ideas, discuss what we think NUI will look like in the near future, and back up our statements with cutting-edge demonstrations prepared by the panelists involving combinations of Microsoft Surface 2.0, Kinect, and Windows Phone 7. We, as Surface MVPs think we are more than just Surface oriented. We like to think we are more NUI MVP’s. But since that’s not a technology with Microsoft you can’t actually become a NUI MVP so Surface is the one that comes the closest. We are currently working on the details of our session but believe me: it will blow you away. Several people we talked to have said this could potentially be the best session of Mix. Quite a challenge, but we’re up for it! Of course I won’t be telling you exactly what we’re going to do in Las Vegas but rest assured that when you visit our session you’ll leave with a lot of new ideas and hopefully be inspired to bring into practice what you’ve seen. Even if the technology we’ll show you isn’t readily available yet. So, if you are in Las Vegas between April 12th and 14th, please join Joshua Blake, Neil Roodyn, Rick Barraza, Bart Roozendaal, Josh Santangelo, Nicolas Calvi and myself for some NUI fun! See you in Vegas! Tags van Technorati: mix11,las vegas, surface, nui, kinecct

  • Get Checked RadioButtons using JavaScript

    - by Rudi
so I’m trying to build a win 8 app, which includes a WebView. The WebView contains the HTML code (+JavaScript) below. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC " -//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=utf-8' > <script type='text/javascript'> function get_radio_value() { for (var i=0; i < document.myForm.frage1.length; i++) { if (document.orderform.frage1[i].checked) { var rad_val = document.myForm.frage1[i].value; return rad_val; } } } </script> <title>Kundenfragebogen</title> </head> <body> <h1>Kundenfragebogen</h1> <div id='myDiv'>Hello</div> <form name='myForm' action=''> <table border='2'> <tr> <td></td> <td>sehr gut</td> <td>gut</td> <td>schlecht</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Wie geht es Ihnen?</td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage1" value='1'/>Mir ging es noch nie besser!</td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage1" value='2'/>Es geht mir so wie immer.</td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage1" value='3'/>Heute geht einfach gar nichts…</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Können Sie Auto fahren?</td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage2" value='1'/>Ja</td> <td></td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage2" value='3'/>Nein</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Möchten Sie unseren Newsletter abonnieren?</td> <td><input type='radio' name="frage3" value='1'/>Ja</td> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> </table> <input type='button' value='Formular absenden' onclick="return get_radio_value()"/> </form> </body> </html> So the html contains some radio buttons and a button. I’ve used JavaScript ~2 years ago (just a little), so I don’t really know how to write the exact code. I’ve found something on the internet, but it doesn’t do what I want. I want to have the following: The user can check the RadioButtons. When the user clicks the Button, the JavaScript function should return all the checked radio buttons (I only need to know which RadioButton is checked). Since I know the name of the RadioButtons in my Windows 8 App, I can do the following: var object = WebView.InvokeScript("JavaScriptFunctionNAME", NameOfRadiobutton); So the WebView invokes the script and should get as a return the VALUE of the RadioButton, which is checked. “JavaScriptFunctionNAME” = name of the function in Javascript NameOfRadiobutton = the name of the RadioButton as a parameter (for example “frage1”). Currently I’m returning the value of the radiobutton, which is checked in the RadioGroup “frage1”. How can I check every RadioButton by it’s parameter? By this I mean I have a parameter “frage1” and return the value of the checked RadioButton. After this, I call the function again with the parameter “frage2” and return the checked RadioButtons value. Could anyone help me out with the JavaScript-function?

  • Is there a way to show a 3-D surface plot in the browser?

    - by Phage
I've got a bunch of data for 3-D surface plots. I want to build a quick web interface to let me browse through that data. Are there any (free) packages out there that can easily show surface plots? I found this question but the suggested libraries did not support surface plots. If it requires a plugin like flash / java that is fine. This is for prototyping so a quick 'n dirty solution is preferred. Right now, the only option I have come up with is to use gnuplot to serve up static images. It would be awesome if there was some way to provide an interactive 3-D surface plot in the browser.

  • Refreshing Your PC Won’t Help: Why Bloatware is Still a Problem on Windows 8

    - by Chris Hoffman
Bloatware is still a big problem on new Windows 8 and 8.1 PCs. Some websites will tell you that you can easily get rid of manufacturer-installed bloatware with Windows 8′s Reset feature, but they’re generally wrong. This junk software often turns the process of powering on your new PC from what could be a delightful experience into a tedious slog, forcing you to spend hours cleaning up your new PC before you can enjoy it. Why Refreshing Your PC (Probably) Won’t Help Manufacturers install software along with Windows on their new PCs. In addition to hardware drivers that allow the PC’s hardware to work properly, they install more questionable things like trial antivirus software and other nagware. Much of this software runs at boot, cluttering the system tray and slowing down boot times, often dramatically. Software companies pay computer manufacturers to include this stuff. It’s installed to make the PC manufacturer money at the cost of making the Windows computer worse for actual users. Windows 8 includes “Refresh Your PC” and “Reset Your PC” features that allow Windows users to quickly get their computers back to a fresh state. It’s essentially a quick, streamlined way of reinstalling Windows.  If you install Windows 8 or 8.1 yourself, the Refresh operation will give your PC a clean Windows system without any additional third-party software. However, Microsoft allows computer manufacturers to customize their Refresh images. In other words, most computer manufacturers will build their drivers, bloatware, and other system customizations into the Refresh image. When you Refresh your computer, you’ll just get back to the factory-provided system complete with bloatware. It’s possible that some computer manufacturers aren’t building bloatware into their refresh images in this way. It’s also possible that, when Windows 8 came out, some computer manufacturer didn’t realize they could do this and that refreshing a new PC would strip the bloatware. However, on most Windows 8 and 8.1 PCs, you’ll probably see bloatware come back when you refresh your PC. It’s easy to understand how PC manufacturers do this. You can create your own Refresh images on Windows 8 and 8.1 with just a simple command, replacing Microsoft’s image with a customized one. Manufacturers can install their own refresh images in the same way. Microsoft doesn’t lock down the Refresh feature. Desktop Bloatware is Still Around, Even on Tablets! Not only is typical Windows desktop bloatware not gone, it has tagged along with Windows as it moves to new form factors. Every Windows tablet currently on the market — aside from Microsoft’s own Surface and Surface 2 tablets — runs on a standard Intel x86 chip. This means that every Windows 8 and 8.1 tablet you see in stores has a full desktop with the capability to run desktop software. Even if that tablet doesn’t come with a keyboard, it’s likely that the manufacturer has preinstalled bloatware on the tablet’s desktop. Yes, that means that your Windows tablet will be slower to boot and have less memory because junk and nagging software will be on its desktop and in its system tray. Microsoft considers tablets to be PCs, and PC manufacturers love installing their bloatware. If you pick up a Windows tablet, don’t be surprised if you have to deal with desktop bloatware on it. Microsoft Surfaces and Signature PCs Microsoft is now selling their own Surface PCs that they built themselves — they’re now a “devices and services” company after all, not a software company. One of the nice things about Microsoft’s Surface PCs is that they’re free of the typical bloatware. Microsoft won’t take money from Norton to include nagging software that worsens the experience. If you pick up a Surface device that provides Windows 8.1 and 8 as Microsoft intended it — or install a fresh Windows 8.1 or 8 system — you won’t see any bloatware. Microsoft is also continuing their Signature program. New PCs purchased from Microsoft’s official stores are considered “Signature PCs” and don’t have the typical bloatware. For example, the same laptop could be full of bloatware in a traditional computer store and clean, without the nasty bloatware when purchased from a Microsoft Store. Microsoft will also continue to charge you $99 if you want them to remove your computer’s bloatware for you — that’s the more questionable part of the Signature program. Windows 8 App Bloatware is an Improvement There’s a new type of bloatware on new Windows 8 systems, which is thankfully less harmful. This is bloatware in the form of included “Windows 8-style”, “Store-style”, or “Modern” apps in the new, tiled interface. For example, Amazon may pay a computer manufacturer to include the Amazon Kindle app from the Windows Store. (The manufacturer may also just receive a cut of book sales for including it. We’re not sure how the revenue sharing works — but it’s clear PC manufacturers are getting money from Amazon.) The manufacturer will then install the Amazon Kindle app from the Windows Store by default. This included software is technically some amount of clutter, but it doesn’t cause the problems older types of bloatware does. It won’t automatically load and delay your computer’s startup process, clutter your system tray, or take up memory while you’re using your computer. For this reason, a shift to including new-style apps as bloatware is a definite improvement over older styles of bloatware. Unfortunately, this type of bloatware has not replaced traditional desktop bloatware, and new Windows PCs will generally have both. Windows RT is Immune to Typical Bloatware, But… Microsoft’s Windows RT can’t run Microsoft desktop software, so it’s immune to traditional bloatware. Just as you can’t install your own desktop programs on it, the Windows RT device’s manufacturer can’t install their own desktop bloatware. While Windows RT could be an antidote to bloatware, this advantage comes at the cost of being able to install any type of desktop software at all. Windows RT has also seemingly failed — while a variety of manufacturers came out with their own Windows RT devices when Windows 8 was first released, they’ve all since been withdrawn from the market. Manufacturers who created Windows RT devices have criticized it in the media and stated they have no plans to produce any future Windows RT devices. The only Windows RT devices still on the market are Microsoft’s Surface (originally named Surface RT) and Surface 2. Nokia is also coming out with their own Windows RT tablet, but they’re in the process of being purchased by Microsoft. In other words, Windows RT just isn’t a factor when it comes to bloatware — you wouldn’t get a Windows RT device unless you purchased a Surface, but those wouldn’t come with bloatware anyway. Removing Bloatware or Reinstalling Windows 8.1 While bloatware is still a problem on new Windows systems and the Refresh option probably won’t help you, you can still eliminate bloatware in the traditional way. Bloatware can be uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel or with a dedicated removal tool like PC Decrapifier, which tries to automatically uninstall the junk for you. You can also do what Windows geeks have always tended to do with new computers — reinstall Windows 8 or 8.1 from scratch with installation media from Microsoft. You’ll get a clean Windows system and you can install only the hardware drivers and other software you need. Unfortunately, bloatware is still a big problem for Windows PCs. Windows 8 tries to do some things to address bloatware, but it ultimately comes up short. Most Windows PCs sold in most stores to most people will still have the typical bloatware slowing down the boot process, wasting memory, and adding clutter. • StackOverflow in compojure web project

    - by Anders Rune Jensen
Hi I've been playing around with clojure and have been using it to build a simple little audio player. The strange thing is that sometimes, maybe one out of twenty, when contact the server I will get the following error: 2010-04-20 15:33:20.963::WARN: Error for /control java.lang.StackOverflowError at clojure.lang.RT.seq(RT.java:440) at clojure.core$seq__4245.invoke(core.clj:105) at clojure.core$filter__5084$fn__5086.invoke(core.clj:1794) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.sval(LazySeq.java:42) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.seq(LazySeq.java:56) at clojure.lang.RT.seq(RT.java:440) at clojure.core$seq__4245.invoke(core.clj:105) at clojure.core$filter__5084$fn__5086.invoke(core.clj:1794) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.sval(LazySeq.java:42) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.seq(LazySeq.java:56) at clojure.lang.RT.seq(RT.java:440) at clojure.core$seq__4245.invoke(core.clj:105) at clojure.core$filter__5084$fn__5086.invoke(core.clj:1794) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.sval(LazySeq.java:42) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.seq(LazySeq.java:56) at clojure.lang.RT.seq(RT.java:440) at clojure.core$seq__4245.invoke(core.clj:105) at clojure.core$filter__5084$fn__5086.invoke(core.clj:1794) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.sval(LazySeq.java:42) at clojure.lang.LazySeq.seq(LazySeq.java:56) at clojure.lang.RT.seq(RT.java:440) ... If I do it right after again it always works. So it appears to be related to timing or something. The code in question is: (defn add-track [t] (common/ref-add tracks t)) (defn add-collection [coll] (doseq [track coll] (add-track track))) and (defn ref-add [ref value] (dosync (ref-set ref (conj @ref value)))) where coll is extracted from this function: (defn tracks-by-album [album] (sort sort-tracks (filter #(= (:album %) album) @tracks))) so it does appear to be the tracks-by-album function from the stack trace. I just don't see why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

  • Can I use swank-clojure with the clojure 1.2 master branch?

I'm happily using swank-clojure, installed via elpa. But I'd like to do some work with deftype, defprotocol, etc., which aren't aren't available in clojure 1.1. To use my own class paths, I'm using the excellent suggestion by Rick Moynihan in the stackoverflow question about setting custom classpaths, which was to set up a script like: #!/bin/bash java -server -cp "./lib/*":./src clojure.main -e "(do (require 'swank.swank) (swank.swank/start-repl))" And that works swimmingly if the clojure jar file in lib is 1.1, but with 1.2, it blows up: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: clojure.lang.RestFn.<init>(I)V (macroexpand.clj:1) at clojure.lang.Compiler.eval(Compiler.java:5274) at clojure.lang.Compiler.load(Compiler.java:5663) at clojure.lang.RT.loadResourceScript(RT.java:330) at clojure.lang.RT.loadResourceScript(RT.java:321) at clojure.lang.RT.load(RT.java:399) at clojure.lang.RT.load(RT.java:371) at clojure.core$load__5663$fn__5671.invoke(core.clj:4255) at clojure.core$load__5663.doInvoke(core.clj:4254) at clojure.lang.RestFn.invoke(RestFn.java:409) ...and many, many more So is there some magical incantation to make this work, or is clojure 1.2 compatibility not there yet?

  • deleting HBITMAP causes an access violation at runtime.

    - by Oliver
Hi, I have the following code to take a screenshot of a window, and get the colour of a specific pixel in it: void ProcessScreenshot(HWND hwnd){ HDC WinDC; HDC CopyDC; HBITMAP hBitmap; RECT rt; GetClientRect (hwnd, &rt); WinDC = GetDC (hwnd); CopyDC = CreateCompatibleDC (WinDC); //Create a bitmap compatible with the DC hBitmap = CreateCompatibleBitmap (WinDC, rt.right - rt.left, //width rt.bottom - rt.top);//height SelectObject (CopyDC, hBitmap); BitBlt (CopyDC, //destination 0,0, rt.right - rt.left, //width rt.bottom - rt.top, //height WinDC, //source 0, 0, SRCCOPY); COLORREF col = ::GetPixel(CopyDC,145,293); // Do some stuff with the pixel colour.... delete hBitmap; ReleaseDC(hwnd, WinDC); ReleaseDC(hwnd, CopyDC); } the line 'delete hBitmap;' causes a runtime error: an access violation. I guess I can't just delete it like that? Because bitmaps take up a lot of space, if I don't get rid of it I will end up with a huge memory leak. My question is: Does releasing the DC the HBITMAP is from deal with this, or does it stick around even after I have released the DC? If the later is the case, how do I correctly get rid of the HBITMAP?

  • Help getting frame rate (fps) up in Python + Pygame

    - by Jordan Magnuson
I am working on a little card-swapping world-travel game that I sort of envision as a cross between Bejeweled and the 10 Days geography board games. So far the coding has been going okay, but the frame rate is pretty bad... currently I'm getting low 20's on my Core 2 Duo. This is a problem since I'm creating the game for Intel's March developer competition, which is squarely aimed at netbooks packing underpowered Atom processors. Here's a screen from the game: ![www.necessarygames.com/my_games/betraveled/betraveled-fps.png][1] I am very new to Python and Pygame (this is the first thing I've used them for), and am sadly lacking in formal CS training... which is to say that I think there are probably A LOT of bad practices going on in my code, and A LOT that could be optimized. If some of you older Python hands wouldn't mind taking a look at my code and seeing if you can't find any obvious areas for optimization, I would be extremely grateful. You can download the full source code here: http://www.necessarygames.com/my_games/betraveled/betraveled_src0328.zip Compiled exe here: www.necessarygames.com/my_games/betraveled/betraveled_src0328.zip One thing I am concerned about is my event manager, which I feel may have some performance wholes in it, and another thing is my rendering... I'm pretty much just blitting everything to the screen all the time (see the render routines in my game_components.py below); I recently found out that you should only update the areas of the screen that have changed, but I'm still foggy on how that accomplished exactly... could this be a huge performance issue? Any thoughts are much appreciated! As usual, I'm happy to "tip" you for your time and energy via PayPal. • How can I create a rectangular SDL surface filled with a particular color?

    - by user3689
    I'm learning SDL. I'd like to create rectangular surface filled with a flat color (not an image). Below is my code -- it compiles fine, but doesn't work. I'm passing the function these parameters: SDL_Surface* m_screen = SDL_SetVideoMode( SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SCREEN_BPP, SDL_SWSURFACE ); SDL_FillRect( m_screen, &m_screen->clip_rect, SDL_MapRGB(m_screen->format,0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF) ); ... Button button(m_screen,0,0,50,50,255,0,0) ... ... Button::Button(SDL_Surface* screen,int x,int y,int w,int h,int R, int G, int B) { SDL_Rect box; SDL_Surface * ButtonSurface; ButtonSurface = NULL ; Uint32 rmask, gmask, bmask, amask; #if SDL_BYTEORDER == SDL_BIG_ENDIAN rmask = 0xff000000; gmask = 0x00ff0000; bmask = 0x0000ff00; amask = 0x000000ff; #else rmask = 0x000000ff; gmask = 0x0000ff00; bmask = 0x00ff0000; amask = 0xff000000; #endif box.x = x; box.y = y; box.w = w; box.h = h; ButtonSurface = SDL_CreateRGBSurface(SDL_SWSURFACE, box.w,box.h, 32, rmask, gmask, bmask, amask); if(ButtonSurface == NULL) { LOG_MSG("Button::Button Button failed"); } SDL_FillRect(screen,&box,SDL_MapRGB ( ButtonSurface->format, R, G, B )); //ut.ApplySurface(0,0,ButtonSurface,screen); SDL_BlitSurface(ButtonSurface,NULL,screen,&box); } What am I doing wrong here?

  • Can a ScatterViewItem dynamically resize to fit its content?

    - by Brett
We're hosting a control inside of a ScatterViewItem that dynamically changes its size at runtime as a result of having various sub-elements added, removed, and/or collapsed. We would like to have the hosting ScatterViewItem resize as well to properly fit its child controls, but we're having a hard time making this happen. We've tried a number of different things and the closest we've come is hooking into the child control's SizeChanged event and explicitly setting the ScatterViewItem's Width and Height, but this approach still has issues. When you define a ScatterViewItem and its content in XAML, the ScatterViewItem is sized appropriately. We would like to force the same behavior at runtime when its content changes size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
