    Microsoft do not sell Windows 8's DVD in China, We can only update to Windows 8 from Windows 7 , Vista or Windows XP SP3. However, I am a Ubuntu user, I don't have Windows 7 , Vista or Windows XP SP3 installed in my laptop. I was planning to buy a DVD of Windows 8 Pro from Amazon.com, but I don't know if it can be activated in China. Does anybody know? The customer service of Microsoft is too busy right now.

    I have 2 very similar routes, just because i'm trying to generate two different URLs for the same resource (same Controller/Action), and both are very similar. These are the routes definitions: routes.MapRoute("Post2.Mp3", "sites/{siteSlug}/post/{brand}/aconstant-{slug}.mp3", new { controller = "Posts", action = "Mp3" }, new { siteSlug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+", slug = @"[^(aconstant\-)][A-Za-z0-9-_]+", brand = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+" }); routes.MapRoute("Post.Mp3", "sites/{siteSlug}/post/{slug}.mp3", new { controller = "Posts", action = "Mp3" }, new { siteSlug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+", slug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+" }); "brand" is going to be my site name, which is the same as "aconstant" in those routes. Now, if I try this: Url.Action("ShowMp3", "Posts", new { siteSlug = post.Site.Slug, slug = post.Slug, origin = "origfeedwithaudio", brand = "aconstant" }) sometimes I get the URL I expect: /sites/site-Name/post/aconstant/aconstant-post-Name.mp3 but sometimes, I get this: /sites/site-Name/post/post-Name.mp3?brand=aconstant By sometimes, I mean that different sets of "slugs" give me one or the other. I haven't seen the same set of slugs give me different URLs. I haven't found any reasonable rule for when i'm getting one or the other, it seems random. What is going on here?     I'm getting bamboozled by "for each" loops and two dimensional arrays, and I'm a php newb so please bear with me (and ignore any variables with the word "image" - it's all about the mp3s, I just didn't change it from the xml tutorial) I found a php function on the net that list files in a directory, the output of which is: Array ( [0] = audio/1.mp3 [1] = audio/2.mp3 [2] = audio/3.mp3 [3] = audio/4.mp3 [4] = audio/5.mp3 ) As expected. And another that lists some info about mp3 files. $mp3datafile = 'audio/1.mp3'; $m = new mp3file($mp3datafile); $mp3dataArray = $m-get_metadata(); print_r($mp3dataArray); unset($mp3dataArray); The output of which is Array ( [Filesize] = 31972 [Encoding] = CBR [etc] ) In order to automatically build RSS for a podcast, I need to generate XML for each item. So far so good. So, I have an array of the names of the files in the directory in $mp3data And, I have an array of mp3 data in $mp3dataArray from one iteration of the get_metadata() function. If I do the following, then I get a nice list of the mp3 data of the 5 files in the directory: foreach ($mp3data as $key = $val) { $mp3datafile = $val; $m = new mp3file($mp3datafile); $mp3dataArray = $m-get_metadata(); print_r($mp3dataArray); unset($mp3dataArray); } As expected. Where I'm struggling, and have been for most of the day in spite of reading many forums and tutorials, is how to populate the "second dimension" of the array, so that it goes through 1,2,3,4 and 5.mp3 (or however many there are), extracts the metadata, then allows me to use it in the xml section above. Here's what I have foreach ($mp3data as $key = $val) { $mp3datafile = $val; $m = new mp3file($mp3datafile); $mp3dataArray = $m-get_metadata(); $mp3testarray = array($mp3dataArray); } print_r($mp3dataArray); Shouldn't that line print_r($mp3dataArray); give me a nice list of 5 lots of mp3 data, in the way it did when I recursed through the loop as before?     I have a need to store files on Amazon AWS S3, but in order to isolate the user from the AWS authentication I want to go via an ASP page on my site, which the user will be logged into. So: The application sends the file using the Delphi Indy library TidHTTP.Put (FileStream) routine to the ASP page, along with some authentication stuff (mine, not AWS) on the querystring. The ASP page checks the auth details and then if OK stores the file on S3 using my Amazon account. Problem I have is: how do I access the data coming in from the Indy PUT using JScript in the ASP page and pass it on to S3. I'm OK with AWS signing, etc, it's just the nuts and bolts of connecting the two bits (the incoming request and the outgoing AWS request) ... TIA R

    I'm making an open source C# library for other developers to use. My key concern is ease of use. This means using intuitive names, intuitive method usage and such. This is the first time I've done something with other people in mind, so I'm really concerned about the quality of the architecture. Plus, I wouldn't mind learning a thing or two. :) I have three classes: Downloader, Parser and Movie I was thinking that it would be best to only expose the Movie class of my library and have Downloader and Parser remain hidden from invocation. All the samples in ApiDemos avoid this timing problem by only calling services when triggered by user actions. But what should I do to right use this service after bindService succeeds? How can I wait for ServiceConnection.onServiceConnected being called reliably?

If a FLAC file is newer than the corresponding MP3 file (or the corresponding MP3 file doesn't exist), then I want to run a bunch of commands to convert the FLAC file to an MP3 file, and copy the tags across. The kicker: I need to search the flac directory recursively, and create corresponding subdirectories in the mp3 directory. And I want to use make to drive this.

It turns out that this won't work in make, because of the spaces in the directories and filenames, so I'm wondering how to do it in rake instead...

I already have a amazon s3 clone that I found online called parkplace but its in ruby and is old also isn't built for high loads. I am not really sure what modules and programs I should use so id like some help picking them out. My requirements are listed below (yes I know there are lots but I could start simple then add more once I get it going): Easy API implementation for client side apps. (maybe REST (?) Centralized database server for the USERDB (maybe PostgreSQL (?). Logging of all connections, bandwidth used, well pretty much everything to a centralized server (maybe PostgreSQL again (?). Easy server side configuration (config file(s) stored on the servers). Web based control panel for admin(s) and user(s) to show logs. (could work just running queries from the databases) Fast High Uptime Low memory usage Some sort of load distribution/load balancer (maybe a dns based or pound or perlbal or something else (?).     Hi. We pay a news agency to provide us mp3's of hourly news bulletins. They put the mp3's on a FTP server just about 10 minutes before every hour, with files named after date and time (example: 02012010_1600.mp3 or similar). I need to find some solution to download only the latest modified file from the FTP server, rename it to news.mp3 and replace the previous news.mp3 that was created. This should prefferably run on a Windows 2008 Server, as a service if its possible. Anyone have suggestion for software?

    I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 with all its updates (without Windows) on it’s own drive and everything is working fine. I want to play WMA audio files, also mp3 files. The mp3 files play fine. The WMA files do not play. Used "Rhythmbox Music Player" with and without "Ubuntu-restricted" -extras. Still does not play the lossless windows audio files. I am frustrated with searching to play a WMA file ("download this converter"), but one cannot use this until one "deletes this". I have done everything but it still does not play my windows lossless files that I made from all my CD’s. I am looking for a music player that I can use to play mp3’s and WMA lossless music files and automatically put the album cover on and update the info if one exists. Installation should be as simple as possible. Right now I am back to the original virgin Ubuntu 10.10 with all the recent updates. This computer will do nothing but play music (mp3 and WMA) through a stereo system. I also use Internet to update album info for the music. I do not care what bells and whistles the music player program has, as long as it is an easy install and just plays my mp3 and wma lossless music files. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm using VLC 2.0.8 on Windows 7. How do I play two mp3s simultaneously from the command line (command line because to write a batch script that launches the mp3s)? I've tried vlc 1.mp3 2.mp3 and vlc 1.mp3 --input-slave 2.mp3 (I've seen the second one as a way to play a video file and a separate audio file simultaneously). Both of these just launch 1.mp3. Not important, but if you're wondering, the mp3s are respectively cafe sounds and rain sounds, so I can play sounds similar to those found at http://rainycafe.com/ without having to launch a browser.

    I've backed up some audio files up in 2 places and added ID3 tags into one backup but not the other, since time has passed my own memory has faded on whether the backups are actually the same, but now one has ID3 data and the other doesn't, basic binary compare will fail and inspection will be cumbersome.
