• Will the memory rise if I loads a same URL for 1000 times in Adobe AIR?

  Hi, Here is the case: I have created a test application which simply loops to load a same url for 1000 times by using HTMLLoader class from Adobe AIR. What I found is that the memory of this app keeps rising. So is this expected? I mean it's the same URL although it get loaded for 1000 times. Does the AVM create 1000 objects behind the scene?

• Put an application window as wallpaper

  I'm looking to put an application window behind all other windows. I was thinking of using .NET 4 and WPF or Silverlight. I don't have any specific drawing code, I just want my application window as my desktop wallpaper while retaining the interactivity (no mucking around with screenshots etc).   In Xamarin I've got a .jar I've imported using a Java Binding Library. One of the callbacks has a Java.Lang.Object parameter which gives me Java.Util.HashMap and Java.Util.ArrayList at runtime. I'm abstracting this SDK behind a cross-platform interface, so I need to convert this to a .NET type. It there anything like the ArrayAdapter except in reverse that can convert the Java types to their .NET equivalents?

  Hello all, I have an instance of a FlowCoverView (a great library that emulates cover flow on the iPhone). And it works great, with the exception of an update. When I update my table behind the scenes, I have no way of telling this control (that is defined in IB) that it has been updated, and to reload. (much like you can with a table using reloadData) To the question, is there a way to replace a control that is on the screen with another control to force the reload?

  in OO programming, is there some conceptual pattern, ideas, about handling multiple errors? for example, i have a method that performs some checks and should return an error message for each error found ['name is too short', 'name contains invalid unicode sequences', 'name is too long'] now, should i use an array of exceptions (not thrown exceptions)? or something like this is better: class MyExceptionList extends Exception{ public Void addException(Exception e){} public Array getExceptions(){} } any theory behind this argument will be appreciated! • Can I delay window.open()?

  So here is my basic problem. The user clicks the save button. Use Ajax to save the content via code-behind. THEN open a new window that loads the content from the DB. I just need a way to not open the window until the content has been saved. Right now it immediately opens a new window and the content isn't all saved yet. Any ideas?

If I then navigate to website#2, should I be logged in? website#2 uses formsauthentication and I call a httpHandler that is on website#2 and pass it the username/password via the querystring. One of the features I would like to add to this is that each menuitem has a different text colour when hovered over. I suppose a warning is there to inform you about something that can cause an error, but isn't a notice exaclty the same? I suppose a notice is not a message of something doing right ;).   Why does left(FIELD, replace(nullif(charindex('-', FIELD), 0), null, len(FIELD))) always return null? The idea behind the query is that if charindex() returns 0, then convert the results into null, then convert the null into the length of the field. So if '-' does not exist, show the whole string. For some reason it makes every row equal null. Thank you.

• Java writes bad wave files

  I'm writing out wave files in Java using AudioInputStream output = new AudioInputStream(new ByteArrayInputStream(rawPCMSamples), new AudioFormat(22000,16,1,true,false), rawPCMSamples.length) AudioSystem.write(output, AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, new FileOutputStream('somefile.wav')) And I get what appears to be corrupt wave files on OSX. They won't play from Finder however using the same code behind a servlet writing directly to the response stream and setting the Content-Type to audio/wave seems to play fine in quicktime. What gives?
