  Hi, Not sure if I'll explain this properly but here goes. I having written an asp.net app using C# for the code behind. After the user makes some selection and hits the "run" button I pass off the processing to a dll written in C# but what I want is a way to periodically send information back to the client so they can see what's going on like how many records have been processed and things like that.   This is actually extracted from my module (Pre-processor in C) The conditional expression could contain any C operator except for the assignment operators,increment, and decrement operators. I am not sure if I am getting this statement or not since I tried using this and it worked.Also for other manipulation a probable work around would be to simply declare macro or function inside the conditional expression,something like this to be precise. Also I don't understand what is the rationale behind this rule. Could somebody explain? Thanks

  @Override public boolean equals( Object otherObject ) is not allowed in Java for an Enum, since the method equals(Object x) is defined as final in Enum. Why is this so? I cannot thing of any use case which would require overriding equals(Object) for Enum. I'm just curious to know the reasoning behind this behavior.

• Gridview paging and sorting do not work after changing datasource in codebehind??

  I am having a gridview with an object datasource binded in the markup(aspx page). When page loads it directly works fine with all sorting and paging properties. However, i need to filter display on gridview so i have to change the datasource of the gridview on the code behind. It works fine.. i mean the filtering and displaying is good but paging and sorting doesnt work. Did you have a problem something like this?

  I need to create a Set of objects. The concern is I do not want to base the hashing or the equality on the objects' hashCode and equals implementation. Instead, I want the hash code and equality to be based only on each object's reference identity (i.e.: the value of the reference pointer). I'm not sure how to do this in Java. The reasoning behind this is my objects do not reliably implement equals or hashCode, and in this case reference identity is good enough.

• Should I implement IDisposable here?

  My method which calls SQL Server returns a datareader but because of what I need to do (return the datareader to the calling method which is in page code-behind), I can't close the connection in the class of the method which calls sql server, so I have no finally or using blocks. Is the correct way of disposing resources to make the class implement IDisposable? Or from the caller, explicitly dispose the unmanged resource (class-level fields)? Thanks
