  • is there anyway to clear the content before loading ajax tab in jquery ui

    jquery ui tabs supports loading content through ajax here but if i have already loaded previous content and i click on it again, it stays on the old content until the new content is fully loaded is there anyway to clear the content right when you click the tab so its clear that a new set of content is loading. I see there is a load event but this fires after the new content is loaded. i need a beforeload event or something like that any suggestions?

  • CSS styles gone after Ajax call in IE 7

    I've had a problem with my styles not being applied after AJAX calls. My styles were not in the < HEAD section of the page, and they were only recognized by IE on initial Page_Load. If you know of any other ways to fix this problem, post them here. This is more of a reference, hope this helps some people.

  • Ajax page.replace_html problems with partials in Rails

    Hello, I am having a problem with a pretty simple AJAX call in rails. I have a blog-style application and each post has a "like" feature. I want to be able to increment the "like" on each post in the index using AJAX onclick. I got it to work; however, the DOM is a bit tricky here, because no matter what partial its looking at, it will only update the TOP partial. so if I click "like" on post #2, it will update and replace the "likes" on post #1 instead. But this is an index of posts, so if I wanted to updated the second "postcontent" div on the page, it will still replace the html of the first.     I know I can set up a role to allow user's to only edit their own pages, then go mark the appropriate pages to be authored by the appropriate user. But then I run into multiple users per page problems. Is there any way that you can explicitly only allow a user to edit certain (perhaps multiple) pages, while accounting for overlap in the case that more than one user may be allowed to edit the same page? When the user clicks to on a link to create it, and he's not logged in, I want a "register" box to appear ABOVE THE CONTENT CREATION area, where the user can enter his normal registration details.     Could you confirm I understand this correctly. Using POST, the file specified in xmlhttp.open("GET","ajax_test.asp",true); will not be cached (sent to \Temporary Internet Files) ? It will stay on the server only? If this is true, is the updated html file after calling ajax POST, being updated in the \Temporary Internet Files ? Am I missing any other important information of this mechanism? Thank You.

  • Seeking good practice advice: multisite in Drupal

    I'm using multisite to host my client sites. During development stage, I use subdomain to host the staging site, e.g. client1.mydomain.com. And here's how it look under the SITES folder: /sites/client1.mydomain.com When the site is completed and ready to go live, I created another folder for the actual domain, e.g. client1.com. Hence: /sites/client1.com Next, I created symlinks under client1.com for FILES and SETTINGS.PHP that points to the subdomain i.e. /sites/client1.com/settings.php --> /sites/client1.mydomain.com/settings.php /sites/client1.com/files --> /sites/client1.mydomain.com/files Finally, to prevent Google from indexing both the subdomain and actual domain, I created the rule in .htaccess to rewrite client1.mydomain.com to client1.com, therefore, should anyone try to access the subdomain, he will be redirected to the actual domain. This above arrangement works perfectly fine. But I somehow feel there is a better way to achieve the above in much simplified manner. Please feel free to share your views and all advice is much appreciated.

Also - beyond simple client side formatting, how can consistency be achieved when performing both server side and client side formatting?

  • How can I convince IE to simply display application/json rather than offer to download it?

    While debugging jQuery apps that use AJAX, I often have the need to see the json that is being returned by the service to the browser. So I'll drop the URL for the JSON data into the address bar. This is nice with ASPNET because in the event of a coding error, I Can see the ASPNET diagostic in the browser: But when the server-side code works correctly and actually returns JSON, IE prompts me to download it, so I can't see the response. Can I get IE to NOT do that, in other words, to just display it as if it were plain text? I know I could do this if I set the Content-Type header to be text/plain. But this is specifically an the context of an ASPNET MVC app, which sets the response automagically when I use JsonResult on one of my action methods. Also I kinda want to keep the appropriate content-type, and not change it just to support debugging efforts.

  • Is it possible to integrate user databases between Drupal and an ASP&SQL Server platform?

    We have a game project designed on ASP&SQL Server, and we need to integrate it's user database with Drupal. This would be easier from Project to Drupal (since there is user_save and user_delete functions available globally by using drupal bootstrap) but I'm not sure if we can execute PHP functions on an ASP platform. Is there any documentation for this kind of problems? What do you suggest?
