  • How do I return specific keys from the $_POST array?

    - by Brook
    I would like to check to see if there are any keys in $_POST that contain a string. The string will not be the full key, only part of the key. (ie. search string = "delRowID", $_POST key = "delRowID_16"). I have tried to use array_keys($_POST,"delRowID"), but it has never returned anything. CODE print_r($_POST); print_r(array_keys($_POST,"delRowID")); RETURNS Array ( [delRowID] => 29 [qAction] => [elmUpdateId] => [elmTtl] => [elmDesc] => [elmStr] => ) Array ( )

  • How to make Nokogiri transparently return un/encoded Html entities untouched?

    - by svenfuchs
    How can I use Nokogiri with having html entities (like German umlauts) untouched? I.e.: # this is fine node = Nokogiri::HTML.fragment('<p>&ouml;</p>') node.to_s # => '<p>&ouml;</p>' # this is not node = Nokogiri::HTML.fragment('<p>ö</p>') node.to_s # => '<p>&ouml;</p>' # this is what I need node = Nokogiri::HTML.fragment('<p>ö</p>') node.to_s # => '<p>ö</p>' I've tried to mess with both PARSE_OPTIONS and :save_with options but could not come up with a way to have Nokogiri just transparently behave like above. Any pointers?

  • [Wordpress] How do I return values from custom created meta box?

    - by Steven
    I've just followed this example from Wordpress and I have successfully added an extra Meta Box in Post interface, and the value is stored in DB. Now my question is, how can I retrieve and display the content of this meta box? I'm trying the following code: $intro = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'post_intro', true); echo $intro; But I get nada. What am I doing wrong? And while I'm here, does anybody know if I can place this extra meta box above the default text box in Wordpress post page?

  • What's an appropriate HTTP status code to return by a REST API service for a validation failure?

    - by michaeljoseph
    I'm currently returning 401 Unauthorized whenever I encounter a validation failure in my Django/Piston based REST API application. Having had a look at the HTTP Status Code Registry I'm not convinced that this is an appropriate code for a validation failure, what do y'all recommend? 400 Bad Request 401 Unauthorized 403 Forbidden 405 Method Not Allowed 406 Not Acceptable 412 Precondition Failed 417 Expectation Failed 422 Unprocessable Entity 424 Failed Dependency Update: "Validation failure" above means an application level data validation failure ie. incorrectly specified datetime, bogus email address etc.

  • Is it valid for Hibernate list() to return duplicates?

    - by skaffman
    Is anyone aware of the validity of Hibernate's Criteria.list() and Query.list() methods returning multiple occurrences of the same entity? Occasionally I find when using the Criteria API, that changing the default fetch strategy in my class mapping definition (from "select" to "join") can sometimes affect how many references to the same entity can appear in the resulting output of list(), and I'm unsure whether to treat this as a bug or not. The javadoc does not define it, it simply says "The list of matched query results." (thanks guys). If this is expected and normal behaviour, then I can de-dup the list myself, that's not a problem, but if it's a bug, then I would prefer to avoid it, rather than de-dup the results and try to ignore it. Anyone got any experience of this?

  • How can I make a Yes/No combobox return true/false?

    - by Kasper Hansen
    I am new to creating forms in Visual Studio and C#. But I made a UI that has some comboboxes where the DropDownStyle is DropDownList. The items shown is Yes and No. But I need to assign this as a boolean value to a property on some object ai and currently do this: if (cmbExample.Text == "Yes") { ai.isPacketType = true; } else if (cmbExample.Text == "No") { ai.isPacketType = false; } I basically want to do something like this (or some other one liner): ai.isPacketType = cmbExample.Text; How do I link the Text Yes to the value true and No to false?

  • Can I use foreach to return only a certain type from a collection?

    - by RoboShop
    If I enter the code below, I get an error. Basically, the foreach will break when it comes across a Control that isn't a label. foreach (Label currControl in this.Controls()) { ... } I have to do something like this. foreach (Control currControl in this.Controls()) { if(typeof(Label).Equals(currControl.GetType())){ ... } } can anyone think of a better way of doing it without me needing to check the type? Can I somehow get foreach to skip the objects that aren't Labels?

  • What would cause objectForKey: to return null with a valid string in place?

    - by theMikeSwan
    I am having an issue with NSDictionary returning null for an NSString even though the string in in the dictionary. Here is the code: - (void)sourceDidChange:(NSNotification *)aNote { NSDictionary *aDict = [aNote userInfo]; DLog(@"%@", aDict); NSString *newSourceString = [aDict objectForKey:@"newSource"]; DLog(@"%@", newSourceString); newSourceString = [newSourceString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""]; DLog(@"%@", newSourceString); NSString *inspectorString = [newSourceString stringByAppendingString:@"InspectorController"]; DLog(@"%@", inspectorString); newSourceString = [newSourceString stringByAppendingString:@"ViewController"]; DLog(@"%@", newSourceString); } And I get the following log statements: 2010-04-17 23:50:13.913 CoreDataUISandbox[13417:a0f] -[RightViewController sourceDidChange:] newSource = "Second View"; 2010-04-17 23:50:13.914 CoreDataUISandbox[13417:a0f] -[RightViewController sourceDidChange:] (null) 2010-04-17 23:50:13.916 CoreDataUISandbox[13417:a0f] -[RightViewController sourceDidChange:] (null) 2010-04-17 23:50:13.917 CoreDataUISandbox[13417:a0f] -[RightViewController sourceDidChange:] (null) 2010-04-17 23:50:13.917 CoreDataUISandbox[13417:a0f] -[RightViewController sourceDidChange:] (null) As you can see the string is in the dictionary under the key newSource, yet when I call objectForKey: I get null. I have even tried the fallback option of cleaning the project. Has anyone ever run into this, or have I just forgotten something really basic?

  • JQuery $.ajax doesn't return anything, but only in Google Chrome!?

    - by Shawson
    Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me with this as I'm at a loss. I'm trying to simply load a plain text file into a page at runtime using jquery- everything works fine in IE8 (8.0.7600.16385), Firefox 3.6.3, however in Google Chrome 5.0.375.55 the "data" comes back as nothing- i get an empty alert box. This is the code i'm using; <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Animation Test</title> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $.ajax({ url: 'level1.txt', success: function (data) { alert(data); }, async: true, type: 'GET' }); }); </script> </head> <body> <canvas id="canvas" width="640" height="480"> Unsupported Browser </canvas> </body> </html> The file I'm loading in is a plain text file containing this; Central Cavern 100 O.........1.C....C...........1.O O................1.............O O..............................O O..............................O O......................B1..B...O O=============~~~~=~~~~========O O.............................1O O===...........................O O............A..OOO.B..........O O====...<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<...O O............................==O O..............................O O..........B........OOO.....===O O....===============...........O O%............................XO O==============================O (Yes- it's the first level from Manic Miner!   • how to use a class method as a WIN32 application callback method (WINPROC)... Error static struct HI

    - by numerical25
    I am receiving errors and at the same time trying to make this work so please read what I got to say. Thanks.... I am creating a c++ application and majority of the application is encapsulated into a class. That means that my WinProc function is a static class method that I use as my call back method for my win32 application. The problem is that since I created that as a win32 application, every class member I use inside that method has to be static as well. Including my HINSTANCE class which I use inside of it. Now I receive this error error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static struct HINSTANCE__ I need to figure out how to make this all work and below is my class declaration. • Multi-argument decorators in 2.6

    - by wheaties
    Generally don't do OO-programming in Python. This project requires it and am running into a bit of trouble. Here's my scratch code for attempting to figure out where it went wrong: class trial(object): def output( func, x ): def ya( self, y ): return func( self, x ) + y return ya def f1( func ): return output( func, 1 ) @f1 def sum1( self, x ): return x which doesn't compile. I've attempted to add the @staticmethod tag to the "output" and "f1" functions but to no avail. Normally I'd do this def output( func, x ): def ya( y ): return func( x ) + y return ya def f1( func ): return output( func, 1 ) @f1 def sum1( x ): return x which does work. So how do I get this going in a class?

  • help designing a method, should I use out or ref or return the type?

    - by Blankman
    I have a method that I will use in the following contexts: 1. User user = null; if(...) { user = defaultUser; SetUser(a,b,user); } else { SetUser(a,b,user); } SaveUser(user); So some cases are where user may be null, while in other cases it will already be initialized. How should I design the SetUser method? I currently have it like so, but this causes an error when user is null. public void SetUser(object a, object b, User user) { if(user == null) user = new User(); user.Security = a.security; user.Blah = b.type; }

  • [SCORM 2004] the cmi.total_time parameter does not return anything.

    - by Nephila
    I am programming a SCORM 2004 product. I can update the session_time, it works. I can set the status (passed, failed, etc...) I also can get the cmi.location time. No problems! But I don't succeed atingt get the total time (cmi.total_time). I have tested on 2 LMS: On Ganesha the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is an empty string. On Moodle the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is just a "P". I do have the correct logs with correct session times. EDIT. I also try on cloud.scorm.com and cmi.total_time returns each time PT0H0M0S.

  • Does unboxing just return a pointer to the value within the boxed object on the heap?

    - by Charles
    I this MSDN Magazine article, the author states (emphasis mine): Note that boxing always creates a new object and copies the unboxed value's bits to the object. On the other hand, unboxing simply returns a pointer to the data within a boxed object: no memory copy occurs. However, it is commonly the case that your code will cause the data pointed to by the unboxed reference to be copied anyway. I'm confused by the sentence I've bolded and the sentence that follows it. From everything else I've read, including this MSDN page, I've never before heard that unboxing just returns a pointer to the value on the heap. I was under the impression that unboxing would result in you having a variable containing a copy of the value on the stack, just as you began with. After all, if my variable contains "a pointer to the value on the heap", then I haven't got a value type, I've got a pointer. Can someone explain what this means? Was the author on crack? (There is at least one other glaring error in the article). And if this is true, what are the cases where "your code will cause the data pointed to by the unboxed reference to be copied anyway"? I just noticed that the article is nearly 10 years old, so maybe this is something that changed very early on in the life of .Net.

  • How can I get a custom made set of checkboxes return values in the postback?

    - by AngryHacker
    I have the following in an aspx page: <td colspan="2"> <% DisplayParties(); %> </td> In the code behind for the aspx page, i have this (e.g. I build HTML for the checkboxes): public void DisplayParties() { var s = new StringBuilder(); s.Append("<input type=\"checkbox\" id=\"attorney\" value=\"12345\"/>"); s.Append("<input type=\"checkbox\" id=\"attorney\" value=\"67890\"/>"); s.Append("<input type=\"checkbox\" id=\"adjuster\" value=\"125\"/>"); Response.WriteLine(s.ToString()); } Not my proudest moment, but whatever. The problem is that when this page posts back via some event on the page, I never get these tags in the Request.Form collection. Is this simply how ASP.NET works (e.g. only server-side control post back) or am I missing something simple. My understanding was that a postback should bring back all the form variables.

  • Using md5_file(); doesn't return the md5 sometimes?

I can't figure out why. Any ideas?
