• Why can't I connect to a Cisco wireless access point?

  I'm running a Lucid Netbook Remix on my Dell Inspiron 600m and I was not able to connect to the wireless network at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View yesterday. There were plenty of other people on the network - MS, Mac, and Linux boxes - but my laptop would never get an ip address. I can connect to my home network, which is open, and I've never had a problem connecting at the coffee shop, which uses WPA. The Hacker Dojo is running WPA and we checked the password a number of times but got no love. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.   Moving a document using a SharePoint Designer workflow involves copying the document to the SharePoint document library you want to move the document to, and then deleting the document from the current document library it is in. You can use the Copy List Item action to copy the document and the Delete item action to delete the document. To create a SharePoint Designer workflow that can move a document from one document library to another: 1. In SharePoint Designer 2007, open the SharePoint site on which the document library that contains the documents to move is located. 2. On the Define your new workflow screen of the Workflow Designer, enter a name for the workflow, select the document library you want to attach the workflow to (this would be a document library containing documents to move), select Allow this workflow to be manually started from an item, and click Next. 3. On the Step 1 screen of the Workflow Designer, click Actions, and then click More Actions from the drop-down menu. 4. On the Workflow Actions dialog box, select List Actions from the category drop-down list box, select Copy List Item from the actions list, and click Add. The following text is added to the Workflow Designer: Copy item in this list to this list 5.   I work on a large Django application that uses CouchDB as a database and couchdbkit for mapping CouchDB documents to objects in Python, similar to Django's default ORM. It has dozens of model classes and a hundred or two CouchDB views. The application allows users to register a "domain", which gives them a unique URL containing the domain name that gives them access to a project whose data has no overlap with the data of other domains. Each document that is part of a domain has its domain property set to that domain's name. As far as relationships between the documents go, all domains are effectively mutually exclusive subsets of the data, except for a few edge cases (some users can be members of more than one domain, and there are some administrative reports that include all domains, etc.). The code is full of explicit references to the domain name, and I'm wondering if it would be worth the added complexity to abstract this out. I'd also like to know if there's a name for the sort of bound property approach I'm taking here. When letting my build server build the solution it can't resolve a couple of my third party dll's.   Hello, How do I set the default selected UITabBarItem in an UITabBar that is within an UIView, not an UITabBarController? Just to clarify, the UIView does implement the protocol and the didSelectItem method works. At run-time, the tabbar works and the tabbaritems selected when the user touches them. My problem is setting the default selected item. If i use [myTabbar setSelectedItem] within the didSelectItem method it works. But outside of it, it doesn't (for example, in the viewDidLoad method of my UIView). Thanks!

• Programmatically set a TaxonomyField on a list item

  The situation: I have a bunch of Terms in the Term Store and a list that uses them. A lot of the terms have not been used yet, and are not available yet in the TaxonomyHiddenList. If they are not there yet they don't have an ID, and I can not add them to a list item. There is a method GetWSSIdOfTerm on Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy.TaxonomyField that's supposed to return the ID of a term for a specific site. This gives back IDs if the term has already been used and is present in the TaxonomyHiddenList, but if it's not then 0 is returned. Is there any way to programmatically add terms to the TaxonomyHiddenList or force it happening?

  I have recently moved my solution from my main dev machine using vs2010 pro sp1 to a new machine. The setup is supposed to be the same except its failing to build.   Hi, I want to change the build system path for building my VC++ project in VS2005. When I try to build the project, I'm getting an error that a specified header file cannot be opened. I have that header file in "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include". But the path present in 'Build system path' is "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include" which i found in the Error dialog box when i tried to open that header file through the code. • Visual Studio Crashes when using Crystal Reports Group Editor

  I have a crystal report in my Visual Studio 2008 ASP.NET project, and when I choose "Group Expert" from the Crystal Reports - Report menu, Visual Studio crashes / hangs and I have to use Task Manager to close the program. This happens no matter how many times I try, and oddly enough it seems to work fine on another computer with the same project. Any help at all in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Developer SP2, Windows Vista Enterprise SP1, and the version of Crystal Reports that came with the Visual Studio installation.

The initial and default configuration is very easy, but how do I swap configuration files after code is checked out and before unit tests are run. I am using TFS, NUnit. 1. When working locally I have configuration file pointing to local server. 2. On the build server TeamCity get's notification that I have checked-in code and builds new version. 3. Server runs unit tests When on 3rd step server runs unit tests I need to swap configuration files that are pointing to other servers, not the ones I am using locally. • Some unit tests fail in automated Team Build task

  I have an odd situation. I have a suite of unit tests that pass on my dev machine. They pass on the build machine if run from visual studio. But 5 of them reliably fail during the automated build. There is nothing noteworthy about the ones that fail that I can see (and I've stared at them a long time). Anyone seen anything like this? Is there a way to see the test output in the Team Build log? All I get is Passed or Failed messages, but not the Assert message. Thanks!

• JMF Registry could not add item (Vista)

  Hello, I'm using JMF to capture video stream (webcam) on my Java project. The camera I'm using is recognized by JMF (JFMStudio) and I manage to get the video stream. However, on JMF Registry Editor - there's a list of available capture devices, when I click "Add" on one of the items (including the one I need) I get a "Could not add item" error. Therefore this camera is not set in the registry of it (god know where) and later on it is not recognized by my project: RGBFormat fmt = new RGBFormat(); // could be YUV - doesn't matter Vector v = CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(fmt); v is empty (while I know the video source is recognized by Java , since I manage to get video on JMF Studio). Now, this happens only on Vista (where else) and not on XP. I have a suspiction that somehow Vista security blocks Java from writing the registry file, but of course, I might be wrong. One more comments: this is vfw:Microsoft WDM Image Capture(Win32):0 device. Any idea ?

  In my application, I have models that have the Users model as a Foreign key, eg: class Doctor(models.Model): username=models.ForeignKey(User, unique=True) ... In the admin site, when adding a new Doctor, I have the option of adding a new User next to the username field. This is exactly what I want, but in the dialog that opens, it asks for a username and password for the new user; I would also like to be able to assign a group to this new user. • How can I mark a group of changes/changesets in SVN, Hg, or Git

  I would like to mark an arbitrary group of commits/changesets with a label. Commit 1 *Mark 1 Commit 2 *Mark 2 Commit 3 Commit 4 *Mark 1 Commit 5 *Mark 2 The goal is to easily locate all the changes for a specific mark, and to have that grouping persisted in the VCS directly, as opposed to some outside system like a bug tracking system. The location and ordering of the marks needs to be arbitrary, and should be able to work with both committed/uncommitted and pushed/unpushed changes. In SVN the best way I know is to just edit the commit notes and add some sort of special text that you can search for e.g. "**Mark 1". Or just to make a fake edit and commit it and use its commit note to list all the included revisions. Is there a better solution for SVN? Are there equivalent or better solutions for Hg or Git?

  Hey there Stackoverflow, I got a doubt regarding pre-selecting(setSelectedIndex(index)) an item in a ListBox, Im using Spring + GWT. I got a dialog that contains a painel, this panel has a flexpanel, in which I've put a couple ListBox, this are filled up with data from my database. But this painel is for updates of an entity in my database, thus I wanted it to pre-select the current properties for this items, alowing the user to change at will. I do the filling up in the update method of the widget. I tried setting the selectedItem in the update method, but it gives me an null error. I've searched a few places and it seems that the listbox are only filled at the exact moment of the display. Thus pre-selecting would be impossible. I thought about some event, that is fired when the page is displayed. onLoad() doesnt work.. Anyone have something to help me out in here? Thx in advance, Rodrigo Dellacqua

• Do Precompiled headers help with rebuilds?

  I read some of the questions about precompiled headers but couldn't find a direct answer to that. I usually rebuild my entire Visual Studio 2010 solution. One of the projects in my solution is a C++/CLI project. I thought that using precompiled headers in that project will increase the speed of the compilation. After some experiments, it seems that using precompiled headers only slows the rebuild process. Do precompiled headers only help with builds that didn't completely clean the old files?
