  • asp.net custom templated datalist - throws argument out of range (index) on button press

    I have a class BaseTemplate public abstract class BaseTemplate : ITemplate This adds the controls, and provides abstract methods to implement in the inheriting class. The inheriting class then adds its html according to its data source and manages the data binding. this all works fine - I get the control appearing with properly parsed html. the problem is that the base class adds controls into the template that have their own CommandName arguments ... the idea is that the class that implements the custom templated dataList will provide the logic of setting the Selected and Edit Indexes. This class also manages the data binding etc. It sets all of the templates ont he datalist in the Init method (which was another cause of this exception). the exception gets throw when i hit one of these buttons .. but after the ItemCommand event is being processed. The stack trace does not include any references to my methods or objects which is why i am so stuck.   • Impersonate SYSTEM (or equivalent) from Administrator Account

    This question is a follow up and continuation of this question about a Privilege problem I'm dealing with currently. Problem Summary: I'm running a program under a Domain Administrator account that does not have Debug programs (SeDebugPrivilege) privilege, but I need it on the local machine. Klugey Solution: The program can install itself as a service on the local machine, and start the service. Said service now runs under the SYSTEM account, which enables us to use our SeTCBPrivilege privilege to create a new access token which does have SeDebugPrivilege. We can then use the newly created token to re-launch the initial program with the elevated rights. I personally do not like this solution. I feel it should be possible to acquire the necessary privileges as an Administrator without having to make system modifications such as installing a service (even if it is only temporary). I am hoping that there is a solution that minimizes system modifications and can preferably be done on the fly (ie: Not require restarting itself). I have unsuccessfully tried to LogonUser as SYSTEM and tried to OpenProcessToken on a known SYSTEM process (such as csrss.exe) (which fails, because you cannot OpenProcess with PROCESS_TOKEN_QUERY to get a handle to the process without the privileges I'm trying to acquire). I'm just at my wit's end trying to come up with an alternative solution to this problem. I was hoping there was an easy way to grab a privileged token on the host machine and impersonate it for this program, but I haven't found a way. If anyone knows of a way around this, or even has suggestions on things that might work, please let me know. I really appreciate the help, thanks!

  • In Silverlight, what is the best way to convert between a System.Drawing.Color and a System.Windows.

    I'm trying to convert from a System.Drawing.Color to a Silverlight System.Windows.Media.Color. I'm actually trying to pass this color through a service. The System.Drawing.Color, passed over the wire, does not serialize the argb value independently. I can convert the argb value to a 32-bit int [DataMember] public int MyColor { get { return Color.Red.ToArgb(); } set {} } But I don't see any corresponding method in System.Windows.Media.Color to convert that back. What is the best way to do this?

The Co-ordinate system in this case is the canonical opengl co-ordinate system which extends from (-1,-1,-1) to (1,,1,1). My question is, is this coordinate system right-handed or left-handed? A broader question: Is there a document with OpenGL which can list all the mathematical conventions followed by the API?

  • Performance issues with jms and spring integration. What is wrong with the following configuration?

    I have a jms producer, which generates many messages per second, which are sent to amq persistent queue and are consumed by single consumer, which needs to process them sequentially. But it seems that the producer is much faster than the consumer and i am having performance and memory problems. Messages are fetched very very slowly and the consuming seems to happen on intervals (the consumer "asks" for messages in polling fashion, which is strange?!) Basically everything happens with spring integration. Here is the configuration at the producer side.     I am writing a Google Chrome extension. I have reached the stage where I can pass messages back and forth readily but I am running into trouble with using the response callback. My background page opens a message page and then the message page requests more information from background. When the message page receives the response I want to replace some of the standard text on the message page with custom text based on the response. I am almost certainly because the callback completes after the page is finished loading and the rest of the code finishes before the callback completes, too. How do I update the page with the new text? Can I listen for the callback to complete or something like that? SECOND QUESTION: The procedure I am pursuing first opens the message page and then the message page requests the keyword list from background. Since I always want the keyword list, it makes more sense to just send it when I create the tab. Can I do that?     Hi guys, I've built a web application which basically logs work that has been done upon projects plus maintain resources used etc. What I need now is to set it up so that projects can be billed. Billed such that - each task that has been undertaken in a project is regarded as a billable service. Instead of building my own invoicing system and accounts management system I was wondering if there was any standard data format i.e in xml DTD or so to which I could set up the information so it could be imported by a third party accounting system for billing - or if not then what is the best way to accomplish this. I need to integrate invoicing capabilities somehow - better if its third party as I don't wish to have to go through building an entire accounting system.

  • Help System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager find a type in a non-referenced assembly

    I'm trying to write a plug-in system where assemblies can be dropped in a folder that ASP.NET has no knowledge about. This plug-in system works fine for ASP.NET MVC based assemblies, but for old-school WebForm assemblies (where the .aspx files Inherits the System.Web.UI.Page derived classes) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager is responsible for compiling the .aspx file into a dynamic assembly. My problem is that the BuildManager knows nothing about the assemblies within my plug-in folder and it seems to be absolutely nothing I can do to help it. If I do: BuildManager.GetType("Type.Defined.In.Plugin.Assembly", true, true) it throws. If I first get a reference to the Type and then try: var instance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(path, type); it still throws, even though I've now passed in the specific type it needs to compile the .aspx file. Is there anything I can do to help BuildManager find the types it needs to compile the .aspx file?

    Is it possible to use the Facebook iOS SDK Share Dialog to share on a Friend's Wall? I know that it is possible to do this using the Feed Dialog, but that provides the user with a less than optimal experience, and seems to be discouraged by Facebook. It would be fantastic if we could configure the Share Dialog to share with one particular friend. Additionally, is there a way to share with a friend privately (such that it would be sent to Messages)? I have researched pretty extensively and it seems like there is not a way to do either of these things using the iOS SDK - I would just like to confirm that I am not missing something.

  • System.Web.UI not available in console app?

    Hey everybody, Im trying to write a quick console app that outputs data to an HTML file, however im having trouble accessing the System.Web.UI namespace. Adding System.Web to my references places a warning icon on top of the reference name in the solution explorer and System.Web is not available in the .NET reference list (in order for me to actually add it to the project I have to go to the object browser and add it from there). Anybody have any ideas about what I could be missing? Thanks alot people!

    Hi, I'm building some home automation software with Cocoa/Objective-C. The main application will have a minimal GUI and will most likely be represented by a status bar icon only. I'm using proprietary speech-to-text software (MacSpeech Dictate) that takes my voice command and converts it to plain text. I then need to send this plain text to my app for parsing. Is there a way to send a string to a Cocoa application? Could AppleScript achieve this? How would I make the NSString string in my app "available" to receive the passed string?     Hello, I am trying develop a basic referrer system to my Django website, system will be generating a unique url for each users to share with their friends. Once these friends enter this website, system somehow keep the data that "this user is browsing by the reference of X user" and once this invited person decided to register for an account, system will save this information (maybe as an extra Foreign Key of the inviting user in the UserProfile model) Now how can I keep track of the inviting user from the moment entering using the referred link to the point where he/she registers to the site. Would session framework work on this? If not how could this be done ?

  • Serializing System.Drawing.Color in .NET

    Hi all, I've used the default .NET serialization for a class with a System.Drawing.Color member. The code is now in use by people, and I need to add an extra member to the class, but still deserialize older versions. So I tried the standard way of doing this: The ISerializable interface, using SerializationInfo methods to get the int and string members. The problem: My class also has a System.Drawing.Color member, but SerializationInfo doesn't provide a "GetColor" method read this data type. I've tried getting it as an int and as a string, and casting it to System.Drawing.Color, but no luck. Does anyone know how to deserialize a System.Drawing.Color from SerializationInfo? Thanx! Alan
