• Is it possible to search through json result with jQuery

  What I'm trying to achieve, is to output a json list that contains a list of Css classes, and their corresponding url records, i.e. var jsonList = [{"CSSClass":"testclass1","VideoUrl":"/Movies/movie.flv"},{"CSSClass":"testclass2","VideoUrl":"/Movies/movie2.flx"}]; //]]> foreach item in the list I am adding a click event to the class... $.each(script, function() { $("." + this.CSSClass, "#pageContainer").live('click', function(e) { videoPlayer.playMovie(this); return false; }); }); What I'm wondering, is if I can somehow get the corresponding url from the jsonlist, without having to loop through them all again, searching for CSSClass, or adding the url to the link as an attribute?

I always held MS coders in fairly high regard and while I may not have agreed with all of their decisions, I always respected their reasoning. So - is there a good reason for code like this that I'm missing, or was this code extract just put together by a shitty developer? I'm hoping there is a good reason, and I'm just blindly missing it. • Objective-C I can access self.view but not self.view.frame

  I can access and show self.view and see the frame in the log but when I try to access self.view.frame I get null. • Is there such a thing as a virtual COM port receipt printer?

  I'm debugging some code that writes directly to a COM port in order to print receipts on a receipt printer. The printer model is something like an Epsom TM-88. Instead of printing reams of thermal paper while debugging this code, it would be nice if I could use some kind of virtual printer. Like PDFCreator or FinePrint, but with a virtual COM port instead of a virtual windows printer. Does anyone know of such a thing? Edit: The code sends control characters to get bold text and other formatting. I'd like to see this in the output if possible.

The stored procedure has 2 input parameters (@p1 and @p2) and when I enter some test data for @p1 and @p2 within crystal report IDE , every thing is all right. Then, I added the report1 in visual basic 6.0 IDE and added a new form (form1) and a crystal report viewer control on form1. Now please help me: I wanna to show the report1. What codes exactly should I write to show it?How send data user has entered to the stored procedure parameters via application? I also get this error messsage: the server has not been opened yet" What's wrong?

  I'm trying to open local file from Silverlight. I try Window.Navigate("c:\test.pdf", "_blank") and invoking JavaScript like this: window.open("c:\test.pdf", "_blank") Both give "Access is denied". However it works in plain HTML when I do <input type="button" value="test" onclick="window.open('c:\test.pdf', '_blank')" /> Is it Silverlight security restriction? Can I open a local file in a browser from Silverlight application? The reason behind this is that users store local paths and want to open those files from the app.

• How to use regex to match ASTERISK in awk

  I'm stil pretty new to regular expression and just started learning to use awk. What I am trying to accomplish is writing a ksh script to read-in lines from text, and and for every lines that match the following: *RECORD 0000001 [some_serial_#] to replace $2 (i.e. 000001) with a different number. So essentially the script read in batch record dump, and replace the record number with date+record#, and write to separate file. So this is what I'm thinking the format should be: awk 'match($0,"/*FTR")!=0{$2="$DATE-n++"; print $0} match($0,"/*FTR")==0{print $0}' $BATCH > $OUTPUT but obviously "/*FTR" is not going to work, and I'm not sure if changing $2 and then write the whole line is the correct way to do this. So I am in need of some serious enlightenment.

I wrote it some time ago and don't want to modify it to the extent of turning it into a module but would like to regression test it before adding some small functional changes. So far I have use Test::Command tests => 10; exit_is_num($cmd, 0); .... But the command produces some files and I want to check those files are the same as I expect (either equal or match some regexp). Any suggestions

• Marshal struct to unmanaged array

  Hi guys, I have a C# struct to represent a cartesian vector, something like this: public struct Vector { private double x; private double y; private double z; //Some properties/methods } Now I have an unmanaged C dll that I need to call with P/Invoke. Some methods expect a double[3] parameter. The unmanaged C signature is something like void Cross(double a[3], double b[3], double c[3]); Is there any way to set up a P/Invoke signature so I can pass instances of my Vector struct and marshal them transparently to unmanaged double[3]? I would also need bidirectional marshaling as the unmanaged function needs to write the output to the argument array, so I guess I would need to marshal as LpArray. Any ideas? Thanks Pedro

  My reducer class produces outputs with TextOutputFormat (the default OutputFormat given by Job). I like to consume this outputs after the MapReduce job complete to aggregate the outputs. In addition to this, I like to write out the aggregated information with TextInputFormat so that the output from this process can be consumed by the next iteration of MapReduce task. Can anyone give me an example on how to write & read with TextFormat? By the way, the reason why I am using TextFormat, rather Sequence, is the interoperability. The outputs should be consumed by any software.

• Freezing a dual-mode (GUI and console) application using cx_Freeze

  Hi, I've developed a Python application that runs both in the GUI mode and the console mode. If any arguments are specified, it runs in a console mode else it runs in the GUI mode. I've managed to freeze this using cx_Freeze. I had some problems hiding the black console window that would pop up with wxPython and so I modified my setup.py script like this: import sys from cx_Freeze import setup, Executable base = None if sys.platform == "win32": base = "Win32GUI" setup( name = "simple_PyQt4", version = "0.1", description = "Sample cx_Freeze PyQt4 script", executables = [Executable("PyQt4app.py", base = base)]) This works fine but now when I try to open up my console and run the executable from there, it doesn't output anything. I don't get any errors or messages so it seems that cx_Feeze is redirecting the stdout somewhere else. Is is possible to get it to work with both mode?   We're having problems with Windows silently eating exceptions and allowing the application to continue running, when the exception is thrown inside the message pump. For example, we created a test MFC MDI application, and overrode OnDraw: void CTestView::OnDraw(CDC* /*pDC*/) { *(int*)0 = 0; // Crash CTestDoc* pDoc = GetDocument(); ASSERT_VALID(pDoc); if (!pDoc) return; // TODO: add draw code for native data here } You would expect a nasty error message when running the application, but you actually get nothing at all. The program appears to be running perfectly well, but if you check the output window you will see: First-chance exception at 0x13929384 in Test.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000000. First-chance exception at 0x77c6ee42 in Test.exe: 0xC0150010: The activation context being deactivated is not active for the current thread of execution. I know why I'm receiving the application context exception, but why is it being handled silently? It means our applications could be suffering serious problems when in use, but we'll never know about it, because our users will never report any problems.

  Hey, I'm new to MonoRail and am trying to figure out how to have it so that I can select a parent category in a dropdown then have it show a second dropdown with the categories that are children of the parent. If I were using what I'm used to, ASP.NET MVC, I would have a javascript function that would be called onchange of the first dropdown and would make an ajax call to a controller method (passing in the selected parent category id) that would grab all child categories of that parent category and return them in JSON. Then in the callback javascript function I would eval the JSON and populate the second dropdown with the child categories. How would I do this using MonoRail/jQuery?   I'm attempting to display multiple records, with each record displaying its own selection box. I would like to submit this form and pass a hash, having the Add.id function as the key of the hash, and the selection box option pass as the information in the hash. • script unable to find directories/files when running from qsub cluster script

  I'm calling several unix commands and python on a python script from a qsub shell script, meant to run on a cluster. The trouble is that when the script executes, something seems to go awry in the shell, so that directories and files that exist are not found. For example, in the .out output files of qsub I see the following errors: cd: /valid/dir/name: No such file or directory python valid/script/name.py python: can't open file 'valid/script/name.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory so the script cannot cd into a dir that definitely exist. Similarly, calling python on a python script that definitely exists yields an error. any idea what might be going wrong here, or how I could try to debug this? thanks very much.

• Stream a continously growing file over tcp/ip

  Hello, I have a project I'm working on, where a piece of Hardware is producing output that is continuously being written into a textfile. What I need to do is to stream that file as it's being written over a simple tcp/ip connection. I'm currently trying to that through simple netcat, but netcat only sends the part of the file that is written at the time of execution. It doesn't continue to send the rest. Right now I have a server listening to netcat on port 9000 (simply for test-purposes): netcat -l 9000 And the send command is: netcat localhost 9000 < c:\OUTPUTFILE So in my understanding netcat should actually be streaming the file, but it simply stops once everything that existed at the beginning of the execution has been sent. It doesn't kill the connection, but simply stops sending new data. How do I get it to stream the data continuously? Thanks for any help!

• Question on multi-probe Local Sensitive Hashing

  Hey guys sorry to be asking this kind noob question, but because I really need some guidance on how to use Multi probe LSH pretty urgently, so I did not do much research myself. I realize there is a lib call LSHKIT available that implemented that algorithm, but I have trouble trying to figure out how to use it. Right now, I have a few thousand feature vector 296 dimension, each representing an image. The vector is used to query an user input image, to retrieve the most similar image. The method I used to derive the distance between vector is euclidean distance. I know this might be a rather noob question, but do you guys have knowledge on how should i implement multi probe LSH? I am really very grateful to any answer or response.

  I try to configure log4j.xml in such a way that file will be rolled upon file size, and the rolled file's name will be i.e: "C:/temp/test/test_log4j-%d{yyyy-MM-dd-HH_mm_ss}.log" I followed this discussion: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/NUYyjJipzkDOS3reRiMz Finally it worked for me only when I add: try { Thread.sleep(1); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } to the method: public boolean isTriggeringEvent(Appender appender, LoggingEvent event, String filename, long fileLength) which make it works. The question is if there is a better way to make it work? since this method call many times and slow my program.   Hi, I am trying to add click event to one of the widgets that use gwt-connector. Here is the link to the Diagram class and also link to GWT-Connector. Question: Am i doing anything wrong in the code while adding the clickhandler? I am getting error saying that addDomHandler is undefined for the type Diagrams. are there limitations for adding click handlers? Any input will be of great help. Thank you.
