• Using axWebBrowser control to capture page request and postdata.

  I'm writing a small utility to capture all requests made to a web server from a windows application using the axWebBrowser control. So far I have the following working, as the user traverse the website clicking on links, posting forms etc I capture the webpage and the data being send to the server to request the next page. Where I run into a stumbling block is when it comes to Ajax calls. There are number of drop down boxes that filter down the selection as the user types in the search term, I would like to capture the page/script that is called and the data being send. Any hint, advice would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm getting an annoying error in visual studio for SQL that executes fine.   Why do Windows programs parse command-line switches out of their executable's path? (The latter being what is commonly known as argv[0].) For example, xcopy: C:\Temp\foo>c:/windows/system32/xcopy.exe /f /r /i /d /y * ..\bar\ Invalid number of parameters C:\Temp\foo>c:\windows\system32\xcopy.exe /f /r /i /d /y * ..\bar\ C:\Temp\foo\blah -> C:\Temp\bar\blah 1 File(s) copied What behavior should I follow in my own programs? Are there many users that expect to type command-line switches without a space (e.g. program/? instead of program /?), and should I try to support this, or should I just report an error and exit immediately? What other caveats do I need to be aware of? (In addition to Anon.'s comment below that "debug/program" runs debug.exe from PATH even if "debug\program.exe" exists.)

• Ajax based progress bar

  I am developing a progress bar using Ajax. My client side code is working fine, but I have issue at server side. I am using C based CGI. if(i == inc && pb_inc<=100) { fptr = fopen("progress_bar.txt", "w"); fprintf(fptr,"%d", j); fclose(fptr); pb_inc++; } basically I am increasing progress bar after certain number of bytes. What I see here is that the CGI doesn't let display any data to text file until it has sent all the data to file one by one. i have referred to http://www.redips.net/javascript/ajax-progress-bar/ Any idea whats happening here?

• CFGRID - replace data store or filter on more than one column

  ColdFusion 8 I have a cfgrid that that is based on a query. It is not bound to a cfc function because I want a scrolling grid, not a paged grid (you must supply the page number and page size if you use BIND).. I can figure out how to make it filter on one column by using the following code, but I really need to filter on three columns... grid.getDataSource().filter("OT_MILESTONE",t1); Adding more to the filter string does not do the trick...it ignores anything more than the first pair of values.. so..I thought if I called a function that passes the three values and returned the query results to me, I could replace the Data Store for the grid..but I cannot figure out the syntax to get it to replace. The returned variable for the query has the following format: {"COLUMNS":["SEQ_KEY","ID","OT_MILESTONE"],"DATA":[[63677,"x","y"]]} Any ideas?

• How to use less memory while running a task in Symfony 1.4?

  I'm using Symfony 1.4 and Doctrine. So far I had no problem running tasks with Symfony. But now that I have to import a pretty big amount of data and save them in the database, I get the infamous "Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of XXXX bytes exhausted" During this import I'm only creating new objects, setting a few fields and saving them. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the number of objects I'm creating when saving data. Unsetting those objects doesn't do anything though. Are there any best practices to limit memory usage in Symfony?

• Display continuous dates in Pivot Chart

  I have a set of data in a pivot table with date times and events. I've made a pivot chart with this data, and grouped the data by day and year, then display a count of events for each day. So, my horizontal axis goes from 19 March 2007 to 11 May 2010, and my vertical axis is numeric, going from zero to 140. For some days, I have zero events. These days don't seem to be shown on the horizontal axis, so 2008 is narrower than 2009. How do I display a count of zero for days with no events? I'd like my horizontal axis to be continuous, so that it does not miss any days, and every month ends up taking up the same amount of horizontal space. (This question is similar to the unanswered question here, but I'd rather not generate a table of all the days in the last x number of years just to get a smooth plot!)

  I need the very last valid entry in a database table which would be the row with the greatest primary key. So using mysqli, my query is "SELECT MAX(id) FROM table LIMIT 1". This query returns the correct number(using print_r()) but I cannot figure out how to access it. Here is the main code.   How can I insert values from a comma-separated input parameter with a stored procedure? For example: exec StoredProcedure Name 17,'127,204,110,198',7,'162,170,163,170' you can see that I have two comma-separated value lists in the parameter list. Both will have the same number of values: if the first has 5 comma-separated values, then the second one also has 5 comma-separated values. 127 and 162 are related 204 and 170 are related ...and same for the others. How can I insert these two values? One comma-separated value is inserted, but how do I insert two?

  Hi All, Been scratching my head for too long on this: Using jquery.form, (http://malsup.com/jquery/form) with PHP ... my $_FILES['someimage'] gets set but the error number is always UPLOAD_ERR_NO_FILE, size is also 0. The JavaScript: $('form input[type=file]').change(function(){ $(this).clone().appendTo('#imgform'); $('#imgform').ajaxForm(); $('#imgform').ajaxSubmit( { type:'POST' } ); }); Which appends to: <form id="imgform" method="POST" action="/api/images.php" enctype="multipart/form-data"></form> From another form which has bog-standard file inputs. PHP logs are clean, but var_dumping $_FILES always shows that the index is set to the name of the form element ... but no data. Thanks guys!   In BioPerl, a sequence object can have any number of features, and each of these can have subfeatures nested within them. For example, a feature may be a complete coding sequence of a gene, and its subfeatures might be individual exons that are concatenated to form the full coding sequence. However, when I use BioPerl to write a sequence object to a file in genbank or embl format, only the top-level features are written to the file, not the sub-features nested within the top-level features. How can I store my subfeatures in sequence files? Should I just convert all my subfeatures into top-level features, and then reconstruct the tree structure next time I read in the sequence?

• How to make scrolling through images as fast as Apple's Photos app

  The Goal — On an iPhone, to browse through several hundred locally-stored jpgs using a UIScrollView. The Problem — Like many others before me, I've tried implementing a scroll view based on Apple's Page Control sample code and found it lacking. The biggest issue I'm currently up against is that the sample code's architecture doesn't seem to scale. With just a few images loaded from disk, everything's fine. Once the number of images gets into the dozens, though, scrolling suffers terribly: the scrollview stutters mid-scroll with each new swipe. The only code I've toyed with that comes even close to being reasonably responsive is Three20, but even there the performance doesn't hold a candle to Photos. For now, I'm just using Three20, but a faster, custom solution would definitely be preferable.

I have been using http://rdoc.info/github/rails/arel/master/frames Am I approaching this incorrectly? Or am I a few methods away from a solution?

  I need to implement a method that takes an address split up into individual parts and returns any matching items from an address table. If no matches are found, I want to be able to return a value indicating where it failed. Each input param has a corresponding field in the table. The signature would look something like this: List<Address> MatchAddress(string zipCode, string streetName, string houseNumber, string houseLetter, string floor, string appartmentNo, out int mismatchPosition) { // return matching addresses // if none found, return the position where it stopped matching // zipCode is position 0, appartmentNo is position 5 // // an empty param value indicates "don't check" } I know I can construct the method such that I start with all the parameters, execute the query and then remove param by param (from the right side) until either a match is found or I run out of parameters, but can I construct a query that is more effective than that, i.e minimizing the number of calls to the db, maybe even as a single call?

  Hi; Suppose you have an fd set which can have zero or more sockets in it. When I try to call select operation on empty fd set, what I get is -1 as the number of fds which are set, meaning error. So what would you suggest to overcome this problem, you might say do not call if empty but I have a loop and any time fd set can hold 0 or more sockets. What is the best approach about this problem? (we are on C programming language)

• Can mod_rewrite do math?

  I am planning to convert my website to a new CMS, but I would like to use mod_rewrite to seamlessly redirect old links to their new locations. The catch is that my new blog will not have the same article numbers as the old, because I'll import some older blog entries in their first. Thus, my mod_rewrite would need to take a URL like old.php?article=125, do the addition to figure out the new article number (say +200, for this example), and redirect to new.php?i=325. Can mod_rewrite do the addition on its own, or am I going to need some kind of 'helper' script to do that?

It should report the number of rows with the same values for (green.h.0, green.v.0, and offset.0) by only looking at the previous rows. The example above uses the expected values, but assume they are incorrect. How can I add a new column (say "count") which will count all previous rows which have the same values of the specified variables? I have gotten help on a similar problem of just selecting all rows with the same values for specified columns, so I supposed I could just write a loop around that, but it seems inefficient to me.

However, as it stands boost's signals seems more oriented towards dealing with function objects. What would be the best way of adapting my code to still use the callback interface but use signals and slots to deal with the connection and notification aspects?

  We have a large number of Java based servlets/portlets running in a BEA portal that we want to convert into SharePoint 2007 webparts. Many of the portlets use user preferences but the implementations are split between preferences being handled by the portlet directly and stored in a separate database from the portal. Others are using the BEA WebLogic API for user preferences. Three questions: Has anyone gotten a Java Servlet/JSP (compiled against JRE 1.4.2 and running on Tomcat 4.1) to run as a SharePoint 2007 webpart? How large of an effort was it in general (as in, was it measured in days/weeks/months)? Would it be easier to rewrite the portlet as native webparts at least as far as user preferences are concerned?

In VFP 7 I can use: SELECT a.balance ,MAX(a.created) FROM MyTable a WHERE a.meternumber = '2743876' But, in the VFP v8.0 OleDb driver I am using in my ASP.NET page I must conform to VFP 8 which says you must have a GROUP BY listing each non aggregate field listed in the SELECT. This would return a record for each balance if I added GROUP BY a.balance to my query. Yes, I could issue a SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 70 but I wanted to know if this could be done without having to revert to a previous version?

• Image gallery control for ASP.Net with filtering capabilities

  I'm writing an ASP.Net application which needs to display a large number of thumbnails, preferably in a paginated format. These thumbnails will be stored on the server's hard disk, but will have their filenames listed in a SQL Server database. What I want to do is to be able to filter the images being displayed based on criteria within the database. I've looked at the NotesForGallery control, which I really like, but it doesn't seem to have a way to do that. --if I'm wrong, please correct me. Are there any other image gallery type controls, preferably free, that can do what I need? I'm hoping someone can recommend a control or solution that will point me in the right direction. • Multline Text in a WPF Button through C#

  How do I get multi-line text on a WPF Button using only C#? I have seen examples of using <LineBreak/> in XAML, but my buttons are created completely programmatically in C#. The number and labels on the buttons correspond to values in the domain model, so I don't think I can use XAML to specify this. I have tried the naive approach below, but it does not work. Button b = new Button(); b.Content = "Two\nLines"; or b.Content = "Two\r\nLines"; In either case, all i see is the first line ("Two") of the text.
