• Does AutoSproc Scale Well?

  We use AutoSproc as our DAL, not my choice, but it was there when I started working at my job. I was wondering if any one had any experience using AutoSproc with large web applications? I'm just curious if it would scale well as our application is growing and we might need to pop it into a web farm at some point. If it doesn't scale well, what would you suggest then since there are several options out there. Any info is greatly appreciated.

  When I run my asp.net mvc 2 site (shared hosting) I get the following error: Method not found: 'Void System.Web.Mvc.DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.set_AddImplicitRequiredAttributeForValueTypes(Boolean)'. In the bin directory I have System.Web.Mvc.dll version 2.0.50217.0 On my local dev machine it runs fine. Is it possible that if the hosting provider has a different mvc 2 version installed it would cause this error? Thank you!

  In my mind, a web app something that runs continuously; therefore, I'm confused by documentation pages that talk about the "end" of a PHP script (eg this one). Such references seem to refer to the end of each web request, but if the script ends there, doesn't that mean that the OS has to setup a whole new process for each request? That seems unlikely, because spinning up a whole new process is expensive, and be very inefficient for the whole site.

  I've read all over the Internet that I should not define fonts (or anything) with absolute pixel height/width/size and instead, use EM ... so that on higher resolution displays, my web site can scale appropriately.   Hi, In one of my application I'm using the WebClient class to download files from a web server. Depending on the web server sometimes the application download millions of documents. It seems to be when there are lot of documents, performance vise the WebClient doesn't scale up well. Also it seems to be the WebClient doesn't immediately close the connection it opened for the WebServer even after it successfully download the particular document. Does anybody can interpret the meaning of this value? Does this happen, when memory swapping is necessary - so the root cause is not sufficient memory? Even if the CPU value seems high, it is not the main problem for the slow web site. Do you agree?
