• Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 in Windows Vista

  I tried installing trial version of sap netweaver 7.1 in windows vista in my laptop but i couldnt succeed there.. then i tried installing SAP WEB AS 6.20 now.I am able to succeed till 91% completion.After that i get some errors and the installation stops... if anybody have any experiences please share.it will be really helpful.I mentioned the complete log details below. nfo: INSTGUI.EXE Protocol version is 10.   I'm having a proprietary image format SNG( a proprietary format) which is having a countinous array of Image data along with Image meta information in seperate HDR file. Now I need to convert this SNG format to a Standard TIFF 6.0 Format. So I studied the TIFF format i.e. about its Header, Image File Directories( IFD's) and Stripped Image Data. Now I have few concerns about this conversion. Please assist me. SNG Continous Data vs TIFF Stripped Data: Should I convert SNG Data to TIFF as a continous data in one Strip( data load/edit time problem?) OR make logical StripOffsets of the SNG Image data. SNG Data Header uses only necessary Meta Information, thus while converting the SNG to TIFF, some information can’t be retrieved such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc. So this raises a concern that after conversion whether any missing directory information such as NewSubFileType, Software Tag etc is necessary and sufficient condition for TIFF File. Encoding of each pixel component of RGB Sample in SNG data: Here each SNG Image Data Strip per Pixel component is encoded as: Out^[i] := round( LineBuffer^[i * 3] * **0.072169** + LineBuffer^[i * 3 + 1] * **0.715160** + LineBuffer^[i * 3+ 2]* **0.212671**); Only way I deduce from it is that each Pixel is represented with 3 RGB component and some coefficient is multiplied with each component to make the SNG Viewer work RGB color information of SNG Image Data. I need to be able to force the creation of the directory path to the target file location if that location doesn't already exist. For example, there is already a file.txt in this location: C:\file.txt And I want to copy it to C:\example\new\path\to\copy\of\file\file.txt but at this time C:\example\ and all the subdirectories may or may not yet exist. Basically, I am looking for a "copy and create the target path if necessary" command. What would you recommend is the best way to achieve this?

  I'm in a small company that has offices on the east and west coasts of America and also various people working from their homes. There are Windows Servers already in the offices. I think that Microsoft Windows DFS will do what I want, but despite reading the web site, I'm really not sure, so I'm hoping that someone can confirm if it will do all the following: (For various personnel / political reasons I know that a proposal for a Microsoft Windows system has more chance of being accepted than any *nix system) Creation of a Folder so that any files in this folder will automatically be available on the servers in all the offices. When anyone opens up one of these shared files on any of servers, the copies on all the servers will automatically be locked. And when they close the file, the updates automatically get copied to the file on all the servers. VPN access to these folders for people working outside the offices. Bandwidth at the main offices varies from 6 Mb/s to 20Mb/s. Files are Excel / Word / AutoCAD ranging in size from 100KB to 4MB. Thank you.

• Elevating UAC via .bat file?

  Pretty straightforward one that I'm having trouble finding an answer to. serverfault previously helped me with finding a way to automate Windows updates without using WSUS. It's working fantastically, but to run it over the network, you have to first mount a shared drive. That's pretty simple XP since you just mount the drive and run the updater. On Vista and W7, though, this all has to be done with elevated privileges to work correctly. The UAC account can't see network drives mounted by the regular user, so in order to get everything working, I have to mount the share via net use from an escalated shell. I'd like to automate mounting this share and launching the updater via a simple .bat file. I could probably just instruct everybody to right click "Run as Administrator" on the .bat file, but I'd like to keep things as simple as possible and have the .bat automatically prompt the user to escalate their privileges. Since these computers don't belong to us, I can't count on anything like Powershell being installed, so that rules any solution along those lines out and pretty much have to rely on things that would be included in an RTM Vista install. I'm hoping I'm mostly missing something obvious here. :)

  OK, I'm feeling like this should be easy but am obviously missing something fundamental to file writing in Java. I have this: File someFile = new File("someDirA/someDirB/someDirC/filename.txt"); and I just want to write to the file. However, while someDirA exists, someDirB (and therefore someDirC and filename.txt) do not exist. Doing this: BufferedWriter writer = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(someFile)); throws a FileNotFoundException. Well, er, no kidding. I'm trying to create it after all. Do I need to break up the file path into components, create the directories and then create the file before instantiating the FileWriter object?

  I have a Model with an image field and I want to be able to change the image using a ModelForm. When changing the image, the old image should be deleted and replaced by the new image. • Transferring a flat file database to a MySQL database

  I have a flat file database (yeah gross I know - the worst part is that it's 1.4GB), and I'm in the process of moving it to a MySQL database. The problem is that I'm not sure how to go about doing this - and I've checked through every related question on here but none relate to what I want to do, nor how my database is currently setup. My current flat file database is setup to where a normal MySQL row is its own file, and a MySQL table would be the directory. So for example if you have a user named Jon, there would be a file for the user in a directory named /members/. Within that file would be various information for the user including the users id, rank etc - all separated by tabs, all on separate lines (userid\t4). So here's an example user file: userid 4 notes staff notes: bla bla staff2 notes: bla bla bla username Example So how can I convert the above into their own rows and fields in MySQL? And if possible, could I do thousands of these files at once? Thanks.

  I recently moved a Symfony 1.3.2 website (a PHP web framework), from a windows machine to Linux (Ubuntu 9.10). Ever since then, I have had all kinds of problems involving file permission (even though the app run without any of these problems on windows). I run symfony fix-perms which applied a 777 mask to the web directory (presumably, including its sub folders) - (as an aside) I think that is a potential security hole ... I have been meaning to come in here to ask how to correctly set permissions. • How to access Windows Server 2008 R2 file shares from a different subnet

  We have a couple of severs that used to be Windows Server 2003 that we recently upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2. A couple of details to set the situation up: We wiped the OS and re-installed. These servers are on one subnet (172.16.x.x) and we are trying to access some file shares on them from another subnet (10.34.x.x). Firewall is disabled on these servers. Trying to access with UNC "\172.16.x.x\sharename" and net use \172.16.x.x However, we're having problems doing this. We are getting "The network path was not found". Here's some of the things we've tried so far and the result: Tried accessing the share from other (non-2008) servers on the same subnet... Success! Ping servers from different subnet... Success! Telnet connection into port 139 from different subnet... Success! Took a scan through Local Security Policies to see if something obvious needed to be enabled / disabled / configured... Fail I'm not sure where to look next. I know that the router between the two subnets is locked down pretty good, but this did work for our 2003 servers. Has anything changed in the way of ports used for UNC / file share access in 2008? Maybe I'm missing some security policy setting? Hoping somebody can take pity on a poor programming guy that can't figure out something really simple. :-) Thanks!

  I just switched my site's server from Windows to Linux, and am finally able to control file permissions from my ftp. So, seeing that all permissions were 705 by default (and not wanting just anyone to have permission to execute), I went and changed everything to 744. Now, gif and jpg links don't work, pdf download links don't work, php links don't load, and mov files don't play. Conversely, all html files work perfectly. Setting things back doesn't seem to help. Even setting to 777 gets me nowhere. Any ideas on what might be going wrong? I've been googling file permissions all day (solved that problem with the Windows-Linux switch, which has bred a new problem), and I don't think anything I can find has escaped my attention. • Changing resource file in new version of an app

  Hi, I'm working on an update for an already existing iphone app. The existing version contains a .sql database file which is used in the app. I would like to use a new version of this file in the update of the app. On the first startup of the existing app the .sql file is placed in the caches directory of the users iphone. From what I can understand from Apple's documentation the files in the caches directory might get copied from the old app to the new versions caches directory when the user updates the app. Does this mean that for being sure my new file is used in the updated version I should use a different name of the file? And what happens with the old file? Do I have to manually delete it from inside the app? Which means I have to check if it's there at every startup of the app? Thanks Michael

• Tool to Save a Range of Disk Clusters to a File

  Hi, Yesterday I deleted a (fragmented) archive file only to find that it did not extract correctly, so I was left stranded. Fortunately there was not much space free on the drive, so most of the space marked as free was from the now-deleted archive. I pulled up a disk editor and—painfully—managed to get a list of cluster ranges from the FAT that were marked as unused. My task then was to save these ranges of clusters to files so that I could examine them to try to determine which parts were from the archive and recombine them to attempt to restore the deleted file. This turned out to be a huge pain in the butt because the disk editor did not have the ability to select a range of clusters, so I had to navigate to the start of each cluster and hold down Ctrl+Shift+PgDn until I reached the end of the range (which usually took forever!) I did a quick Google search to see if I could find a command-line tool (preferably with Windows and DOS versions) that would allow me to issue a commands such as: SAVESECT -c 0xBEEF 0xCAFE FOO.BAR ::save clusters 0xBEEF-0xCAFE to FOO.BAR SAVESECT -s 1111 9876 BAZ.BIN ::save sectors 1111-9876 to BAZ.BIN Sadly my search came up empty. Any ideas? Thanks!

  To design a client-server code in LINUX where server will send the file equally to its entire client connected(all not at a time). Suppose 15 files are there, client1 makes a connection, server starts sending files to it. After 4 files a new connection comes the first client gets halted (not terminated) and client2 start getting the file. After 2 files another connection comes. Server starts sending file to client3. after sending 3[2(client2)+1] files, server resumes client2.then client2 & client3 goes on till file count reaches 4.then client1 wakeup & remaining 3 files are transferred to each 3 clients. File's name are pre written in a file from where server reads it(not a big deal)
