• UINavigationController from scratch?

  I have a view based app that works well. (In other words, I'm not going to start over with a Navigation-Based App template.) It's an immersive app of sorts and I'm trying to add a Table View that loads in a new view when a button is pressed. The loading the nib part works, but I can't seem to be able to add a navigation controller to the new view. I want to see a navigation bar on top with a done button and an edit button. Also, I want to the Table View entries to be empty. I added a new file like so: File-> New File -> UINavigationController subclass. I checked the UITableViewController Subclass and With XIB for user interface. All I see when the view is pulled up is a blank Table View. I am able to customize things in the view controller. What can I do to make the table show a navigation bar and be editable? I need some direction here please. EDIT: I'm working with the latest Public SDK. (XCode 3.2.2)

  I have a brand new server server that I am trying to get setup up. This is a 64 bit machine that I can not install "fileinfo" or "memcache". I have uninstalled these and reinstalled them using yum and pecl with no luck. Yum install fine "no error" but then get error when running php. pecl from what I can tell is only installing 32bit. Does not put anything in the lib64 directory. • Creating an Apache Virtual Directory, but updating Active Directory DNS

  Hello all, I'm just getting started with using the Zend Framework and am following a recommended procedure where I am supposed to create an Apache Virtual Directory for the public-facing portion of a new Zend project. I don't THINK I had any issues creating the Virtual Directory, but my knowledge of the required DNS changes is rather lacking. The dev server I'm using is on a Microsoft Windows Active Directory domain, so I've added A records for both the server name and the subdomain. Still, trying to browse to the site from a Windows 7 PC isn't working properly. What am I missing? What's the proper set of steps for getting an Apache-served subdomain to appear properly in a peer computer's web browser? Details below: server: Debian command-line only, freshly installed today with Zend Server CE LAMP stack server name: ZENDEV subdomain: SQUARE.ZENDEV AD Domain functional level: 2008 mixed (run by a mishmash of 03 and 08 servers) attempting to visit the sites: http://square.zendev and http://square.zendev.domain.local (name of domain redacted, but using the local (not com) suffix) Apache Virtual Directory added to httpd.conf: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot "/var/www/square/public" ServerName square.localhost </VirtualHost> Is this only a problem with DNS? • Installing ionCube on Windows 2008 64bit

  I've been trying to install ionCube onto my server but have not been having a lot of luck! My server is: Windows 2008 64bit PHP 5.3.14 Thread Safe disabled running as FastCGI In my PHP.ini I have : zend_extension="C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll" The path is correct. The DLL is from the x86 NONTS VC9 version of ionCube and PHP is using the MSVC9 (Visual C++ 2008) compiler though I have also tried using the x86 NONTS VC6 version of ionCube. I'm not getting any error but I'm also not getting ionCube when using phpinfo(): This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine: Zend Engine v2.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2012 Zend Technologies Apart from the mail application pools I have also set all the applications in the application pool in IIS7 to use 32bit mode. I don't know if FastCGI is running under 64 or 32 bit mode nor how to switch it or whether it would make a difference? I know it can be a problem installing ionCube onto 64bit Windows but I have also come across threads whereby other people have also [somehow] managed to get it working but even though I seem to be doing the same as them I still can't get it working.

And though I use Vim as an editor, I don't really need it in my browser. Does anyone know of a Firefox Addon that does just that hit-a-hint like navigation?

• How to update correctly an Entity Model after changes of database structure?

  I've made some changes in the table structure and especially the relationships between tables in my SQL Server database. Now I want to update my Entity model based on this new database structure. Right clicking on the edmx file I find the option "Update model from database". But when I do this I get kind of a 50% update: The new columns appear in the Entity classes but I am confused about a lot of navigation properties which are still there in the model although the corresponding foreign key relationships do not exist anymore in the database. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there another option to update the model including deletion of navigation properties? Or do I have to delete those navigation properties manually in the model files? I am using Entity Framework Version 1 (VS 2008 SP1). Thanks for help in advance!

  Hi, I am envisioning a site layout like this- top navigation menu linking to maybe 4 or 5 indexes of different controllers. each of these sections will be working with different model objects. Left navigation menu is specific to a controller. so, for each of the top menu buttons (corresponding to different controllers) I would like the left navigation menu to offer options only specific to the currently used controler.   I'm having trouble merging the two concepts of using a SplitViewController in my main view and having the "RootView" controller that controls the left panes popup/sidebar table view. I want to have the left "RootView" act as a navigation menu, but how do I do this when the RootView is tied through MainWindow.xib into the left pane of the SplitView? Basically, I want the left navigation to work just like the built-in email applications folder drilldown navigation. Is there an example iPad project out there that uses both SplitView and a NavigationView for the left/Root pane?

  Hello, I would like to use UINavigationBar without decoration. I.e. I would like to create my own custom buttons and link those to the same actions (e.g. back) as the navigation items were linked to and have no bar presented at the top. I was told that one should use navigation bar even though graphically you should design the interaction yourself. How do I go about doing this? I am quite new to navigation bar to start with... • Call pushview from a subview

  Hello everyone, Here is the thing. I currently have a tabBar controller, with several navigation controllers in it. Just like this : http://tof.canardpc.com/view/d27d1361-c81b-43a0-9b5b-abb13d78e422.jpg In my first navigation controller, i have a view controller called NewsViewsController. Here is its nib (see picture). My goal is to show/hide the subviews (with tableview inside) according to the position of the segmented control. This way, I can have two separates viewControllers for each tableview. This is actually working. And here is the result (see picture). My problem is the following one. When i try to click on a cell, the pushview doesn't work. Indeed my self.navigationController is null. How can i push my detail view using the parent navigation controller ? Is the architecture of my application wrong ? Thank you =)

• Transparent Background with a Modal UIViewController

  I have a dilema, I want to present to the user a semi-transparent view. I found out by experimenting that if I simply pushed the transparent view to the top of my NavigationController's stack, that it would not render the transparency level I wanted. So I decided to simply add the view as a subview of the current view at the top of the stack. This solution works, the view below is still visible, and the View is 'semi-modal'. The problem is, if the parent view inherits from UITableViewController (as mine does), then the view I 'push' onto it, does not cover the navigation bar at the top. I really don't want to get into a situation where I am forced to enable / disable controls on the navigation bar every time I push this view, so I was wondering, if anyone knew of any solutions that I could use so that the view I push onto the UITableViewController will actually 'push over' the navigation bar?

  I'm looking for a solution to create a sort of template in Objective C. I'll try to explain my problem. I would create a sort of main view which has 1 side bar that remain always visible. This side bar have controls. The main view is responsible to load a Navigation Controller (UINavigationController seems to be ok) that manages other views. When switching a view to another, the sidebar always remain visible under the Navigation Controller and its views. • TomTom integration does not work anymore?

  I did for 6 months back an integration for TomTom navigation with URL Scheme. This worked out great, but then TomTom updated their iPhone app to version 1.10. Since then the integration does not work. Anyone tried the same?   I'm writing a Navigation-Based iPhone app, and I'd like to have a UIToolBar docked at the bottom of my screen, with a UITableView scrolling between the tool bar and the navigation bar. I used [[self navigationController] setToolbarHidden:NO] and - (void)setToolbarItems:(NSArray *)toolbarItems animated:(BOOL)animated to set the UIToolBar. UIToolBar correctly shows in current view. If I drill down into a detail view using the button on navigation bar, i cannot return back to previous view. Before I add the tool bar, it can return back. I am wondering is there anything else should be noted when use UIToolbar?

• Debugging php-cli scripts with xdebug and netbeans?

  I have managed to initiate php-cli script debug session from the IDE itself, but I need to start the debugging session from the shell / command line. These are rather complex maintenance PHP scripts which take a lot of input parameters, so entering arguments from within Netbeans is a bit cumbersome. The main concern I'm having is that I don't see much talk about MVVM frameworks and navigation (i.e., NavigationWindows and Frames). My current app relies heavily on Pages to present views to the user. I would prefer to keep it this way. I'd rather not change everything to UserControls and rely on DataTemplates to switch out the view I need to present. • Conflicts between CSS Menu and Image as Links

  There is logo on the top (image as link) and other images as links. These links are not working in FF and safari. The problem is with css/ul/li based navigation menu. If I remove the menu html code, images as links are working fine. • UISearchBar in UINavigationBar with ScopeBar

  I am trying to put a UISearchBar inside of the UINavigationBar, which I am able to do without much problem. The problem is that I have logic when editing to show the Scope Bar. This all works fine, with one exception. The navigation bar tries to center the UISearchBar inside of the title view. This causes the search bar to move up above the navigation bar. I tried adding some logic to set the frame of the search bar so that it just draws overtop of my main view, which is fine. I can only set the height, which causes the search bar to draw over the view just fine, but it isn't wide enough to cover the whole screen. If I set the width on the frame, it goes back to the same behavior of trying to center the UISearchBar on the navigation bar. Anyone know how I can accomplish this? Thanks, Nick
