  • JDBC Connection pool monitoring GlassFish

    I am trying to find a setting by which the connection pool monitoring information would come in the server.log whenever an error like "error allocating a connection" or "connection closed" occur. I found some blog entries that talk about this but they mention it from GUI prespective. However, I want a setting on the connection pool itself so that perodically the connection pool monitoring information would be shown in the logs. Does anyone know of such a setting? On Sun app Server 8.X it used to be perf-monitor

    I am writing a windows batch file to do the following things: Display a picture in the middle of the screen, showing the beautiful icon of my software. Kick of the launch of the web server. Finish displaying the picture. Point the browser to the start page. I have already know how to do it in step 2 and 4. However, I have the following questions in writing the windows batch file: 1. How do I know that the launch of the web server is finished, taking jetty as the example? 2. How do I display a picture and stop displaying it when I want to?     Is there anything I could do to get my own open source stuff into Maven's Central repository? I've wondered many times how I could get my own projects into Maven's Central repository. I was asking this myself, especially as I've seen some well known projects hosting their own repository, requiring users to add dependency and repository. At the same time, it's getting difficult for other projects to depend on those projects. As I neither want others to add an additional repository nor to host one myself, I'm looking for other ways. And why aren't some projects using the option to deploy to Maven Central in favor of their self-hosted repository? Any good reasons that aren't obvious?

  • Hibernate criteria with projection not performing query for @OneToMany mapping

    I have a domain object, Expense, that has a field called initialFields. It's annotated as so: @OneToMany(fetch = FetchType.EAGER, cascade = { CascadeType.ALL }, orphanRemoval = true) @JoinTable(blah blah) private final List<Field> initialFields; Now I'm trying to use Projections in order to only pull certain fields for performance reasons, but when doing so the initialFields field is always null. It's the only OneToMany field and the only field I am trying to retrieve with the projection that is behaving this way. If I use a regular HQL query initialFields is populated appropriately, but of course I can't limit the fields. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

  • GWT: What is the way to handle Click on GWT FlowPanel

    May be a dumb question, but GWT FlowPanel (raw div element) does not provides something to handle a mouseclick/mousemovement on it. Overriding onBrowserEvent do not works either. If setting onclick event using native JavaScript (need to specify positive height before, 'div' have a height of 0 if not specified), then catching these events is working properly. Is there a way to do it without using JSNI?

But after executing I'm getting: org.hibernate.QueryException: Not all named parameters have been set: [:TEXT] [select * from news WHERE lower(ID::TEXT) LIKE '%5%' Exception. Looks like hibernate parse my convert exp as parameter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Can you return an array from a JAX-WS @WebMethod?

    I'm pretty sure you can, but in addition to answering the question in the title, could you also explain the pros, cons, caveats, if any, to doing so? I know that you can't return a List, Set, Collection, Map, or any interface, from a WebMethod (which is stupid, IMO, but I don't know what the design reasons were should I should probably withhold judgment).     Is it possible to: set a URI template in the mvc:view-controller element of the *-servlet.xml file or in a controller method and then use/get that path parameter in a jsp? I understand that using @PathVariable in a controller method will give me access to the path parameter in that controller method. But how can I gain access to the path parameter in the jsp? For example, is it possible to do something like: *-servlet.xml file: <beans...> <mvc:view-controller path="/home" view-name="home"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/home/{error}" view-name="home"/> </beans> jsp file: <c:if test="${not empty param['error']}"> <span class="error">You have an error...</span> </c:if>

  • JBoss 6 unpacks jars from WEB-INF/lib of war

    when I start JBoss 6 I see that it unpacks all jar files from WEB-INF/lib in tmp/vfs/automountXXX folder. E.g. jackrabbit-server.war contains library asm-3.1.jar, then in tmp folder I see the following folders with files: asm-3.1.jar-83dc35ead0d41d41/asm-3.1.jar asm-3.1.jar-2a48f1c13ec7f25d/contents/"unpacked asm-3.1.jar" it does not take files from my.ear/lib only WEB-INF/lib... Why is it so? And is here any way to prevent it doing so? It just slows down application server starting (and stopping), what is not that comfortable at development... If it is somehow related to JavaEE 6 specification and ejb-jars, which can be located now in WEB-INF/lib, so I don't have such libraries in my war files... UPDATE: actually when I repack jackrabbit-server.war to jackrabbit-server.ear which contains jackrabbit-server.war and moved all its libraries to jackrabbit-server.ear/lib then I still see two folders in tmp: asm-3.1.jar-215a36131ebb088e/asm-3.1.jar asm-3.1.jar-14695f157664f00/contents/ but in this case last folder is empty. So it still creates two folders, but does not unpack my library. Also I use exploded deployment so the question is only about jar files, not unpacking ear/war.

  • log4j rootLogger seems to inherit log level of other logger. Why?

What seems to be happening is that the level for SGSearch overrides the level set for the root logger somehow. I can't figure it out. I have confirmed that Log4J is reading then properties file I think it is, and no other (via the -Dlog4j.debug option)

  • Configuring Hadoop logging to avoid too many log files

    I'm having a problem with Hadoop producing too many log files in $HADOOP_LOG_DIR/userlogs (the Ext3 filesystem allows only 32000 subdirectories) which looks like the same problem in this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2091287/error-in-hadoop-mapreduce My question is: does anyone know how to configure Hadoop to roll the log dir or otherwise prevent this? I'm trying to avoid just setting the "mapred.userlog.retain.hours" and/or "mapred.userlog.limit.kb" properties because I want to actually keep the log files. I was also hoping to configure this in log4j.properties, but looking at the Hadoop 0.20.2 source, it writes directly to logfiles instead of actually using log4j. Perhaps I don't understand how it's using log4j fully. Any suggestions or clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

At the top in the xml file I get.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> Note that standalone is no, even thou I have it set to yes. The first question: How do I get standalone = yes? I would like to add <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="my.stylesheet.xsl"?> at line two in the xml file. Second question: How do I do that? Some useful links? Anything?   • Where to handle fatal exceptions

    I am considering a design where all fatal exceptions will be handled using a custom UncaughtExceptionHandler in a Swing application. This will include unanticipated RuntimeExceptions but also custom exceptions which are thrown when critical resources are unavailable or otherwise fail (e.g. a settings file not found, or a server communication error). The UncaughtExceptionHandler will do different things depending on the specific custom exception (and one thing for all the unanticipated), but in all cases the application will show the user an error message and exit. The alternative would be to keep the UncaughtExceptionHandler for all unanticipated exceptions, but handle all other fatal scenarios close to their origin. Is the design I'm considering sound, or should I use the alternative?

  • Change size of ImageIcon in a JRadioButton

    I simply want to change the size (diameter) of the actual (default) ImageIcon of my JRadioButton. I've changed the size of the font displayed in the widget, so it really looks silly with such a large radiobutton. JRadioButton button = new JRadioButton("Button"); button.setFont(new Font("Lucida Grande",Font.PLAIN, 11)); gives me this giant button: Do I really have to create my own ImageIcon? Or can I somehow scale the default one, without too much of a hassle?

I attempted: ArrayList<double><String> array; But that didn't work. Sorry for the silly question, but it has been a while since I have used something like this..     I have Maven multi-module project with such structure: parent-pom-project -- module1 -- module2 At the parent-pom-project I have such pom.xml <modules> <module>module1</module> </modules> ... <profiles> <profile> <id>local</id> <properties> <prop>local_prop</prop> </properties> </profile> <profile> <id>test</id> <modules> <module>module2</module> </modules> <properties> <prop>test_prop</prop> </properties> </profile> </profiles> At all pom.xml files I have such tag: <build> <resources> <resource> <directory>src/main/resources</directory> <filtering>true</filtering> </resource> <resource> <directory>src/test/resources</directory> <filtering>true</filtering> </resource> </resources> </build> At module1 and module2 in resource directory I have properties files with such text: prop=${prop} The problem is that after mvn clean install or mvn clean install -Ptest or even mvn clean install -P test I get prop=local_prop If I user test profile for build module2 is also builded, but properties are used from local profile. I use Maven 3.0.3. Anybody have any ideas?
