  Hi, I'm looking for a REPL shell that I can use to test out snippets of Java code. Either a desktop app, or a web app (like the Groovy web console). Ideally, commonly used Java packages like: java.io.* java.util.* should be automatically imported, so that I can copy and paste code from a class without having to add a bunch of imports.   I was taking a look at Shoes which seems like a very nice tool for quick GUI applications. The common elements/controls, however, don't seem to include the equivalent of a list/report view (e.g., ListView in Windows, NSTableView in OS X). Did I just miss this, or does it not (yet) exist?

• is there an scp/sftp client library available for flex?

  I need to send files securely from Adobe Air. In any other language, my first thought would be sftp/scp, but I don't see any libraries to do that in Flex. I'm new to flex, so I'm not sure where to look for code examples and repos. It looks like the raw socket interface is available, so I could write one if no good examples exist. Of course, I'm trying to avoid that.

  Is there a way to make jQuery use objects in a conditional statement as an object in a hierarchy. For Example, I want to validate that something exist then tell it to do something just using the this selector. Is there any Jboss server version that can co-exist working together with JBoss cache of this version (3.1)?   i have search high and low on the internet and it does not exist. i cant find a single website that shows a few applications created with realbasic. i saw a video that shows the user going to realbasic.com/community/ and it shows a load of applications created using realbasic. would anyone know where i can find this information. that link that i gave doesnt even work by them.

  Hi. We just upgraded to visual studio 2010 RC1 and all of a sudden our controls inside tabcontainer disappeared from the designer file. Actually, it all seemed good in the beginning, the project compiled nicely, but as soon as we did any change in the markup of a page and build the code for the controls inside the tabcontainer disappeared and we got errormessages like so "Error 3 The name 'ddlPeriodicityStartInMonth' does not exist in the current context " Does anyone know if any changes are made to tabcontainer to visual studio 2010 or if this just is a bug? • Database-independant SQL String Concatenation in Rails

  I want to do a database-side string concatenation in a Rails query, and do it in database-independent way. SQL-92 specifies double-bar (||) as the concatenation operator. Unfortunately it looks like MS SQL Server doesn't support it; it uses + instead. I'm guessing that Rails' SQL grammar abstraction has solved the db-specific operator problem already. If it does exist, how do I use it?

• IIS7 Request Mapping, File Extensions

  I have a website that used to have .dsp file extensions for all pages. There are alot of other sites referencing mine that reference the pages like that, but my pages are all actually .aspx pages. In IIS5, I was able to configure this to work. My problem is I've recently switched from IIS5 to IIS7, and I have no idea how to map these requests (.dsp) to the real file (.aspx) without the server telling me the file doesn't exist.

• Is there any problem with namespacing clojure keywords in a non-existent namespace?

  Should I feel wary about creating clojure keywords which have non-existent namespaces? An example would be :foo/bar, where namespace foo doesn't actually exist. This seems to be possible because these keywords behave like literals. I couldn't find any problems doing this in the REPL, but I'm concerned about possible problems with AOT compilation.

  I'm currently in need of a purely managed code DirectX wrapper for .NET. While SlimDX is great, its use of unmanaged code makes it impossible to perform proper dead code analysis on, for the purpose of merging it into your assemblies. With a pure managed wrapper, I'd be able to include just the pieces I use in my assembly, allowing very, very small binaries (my goal is to be able to write 64k demos entirely using .NET). Does such a thing exist, or am I going to be getting intimate with P/Invoke?

  I'm having trouble finding a list of the changes and bug fixes that have been made in the .Net framework for .Net 4.0. They're not easy to find, but surely they exist somewhere? Specifically I want to find out what changes and updates have been made for System.Net.HttpWebRequest and System.Net.CookieContainer, as both are quite bugridden in 3.5 and I want to evaluate whether I should write my code for .Net 4.0 or if I should create some custom classes to work around their issues.
