Clarification: Yes I'm looking for an way to send notification to the user, but it won't harm if one can subscribe to certain events with programs too. The linux libnotify uses a system wide D-Bus messaging system, which can handle all kind of events.

Something like Google Charts API's Simple Org Chart would be great, but it looks like it only supports trees. What other service can I use?     I'm following the steps very well described here http://stackoverflow.com/a/18399927/2510225 , but, from my server, I receive the following error: {"error":{"message":"The access token does not belong to application APP-ID","type":"OAuthException","code":1}} I can't figure what I'm doing wrong. Anyone knows if the process to get a permanent access token has changed, or is having the same issue? The access token I'm using in the request is the user access token, which I think is correct.

  • Geocoding service for a startup?

    I'm working on an idea for a service that uses geocoded data (lat/lng) form a US address. Google maps API v3 has been awesome, until I read the terms of service and acceptable uses a little closer. The problem is that the terms seem to prohibit use of the maps API for any commercial use where the site is not freely accessibly to the public, such as a subscription based service. The alternative offered is Google Maps API Premier, but at $10,000 per year minimum, it's just not possible at this time. Same goes for services offered by Yahoo! and MS - initial fees are small for enterprises, but for a very early stage startup (not even a finished prototype yet!) it's just not doable. Geocoding process needs to be real-time and volume would be very small - user would enter address at setup time and only update it if needed. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    I was able to create a subdomain in my plesk panel (linux serverm and plesk 10.4.4 ) using API (with a PHP script). But I'm not able to find a documentation online for just two things: How can I set the stats property to be "awstats" instead of "Nothing"? How can I set (if is it possible) the home directory for the created subdomain to be, for example /subdomains/my-subdomain? Thank you very much...
