  I'm building a CMS which needs to manage content in english, chinese, and spanish at a minimum. Do most markdown implementations handle UTF-8 encoded text? Is the Markdown language designed to be used with non-english languages? I'm currently using Markdown Extra by Michel Fortin.

  Hello, I'm writing a standalone application and I thought using Entity Framework to store my data. At the moment the application is small so I can use a local database file to get started. The thing is that the local database file doesn't have the ability to auto generate integer primary keys as SQL Server does. Any suggestions how to manage primary keys for entities in a local database file that will be compatible with SQL Server in the future? Thanks, Ronny

• WinAPI magic and MONO runtime

  I'm trying to get the same result of a .NET application (see the link Hide TabControl buttons to manage stacked Panel controls for details), but using the MONO runtime instead of the MS .NET runtime. Pratically, when the custom control is executed using the MONO runtime, the underlying message is not sent to the control, causing the tab pages to be shown... Is there a portable solution which is elegant as the linked one? If it is not possible, what are possible workarounds (apart from removing/adding tabs at runtime)?

  I can't figure out how to properly show the printer preference dialog of a given printer so that the user can change the printer settings. Most of the examples that I can find online manage to show the dialog but any changes the user might make are lost which makes it useless. • where has sun mysql database manager gone???

  If I recall correctly, there where at least to desktop programas from sun which were very useful for handling mysql databases... Now, all I can find is some mysql workbench which is only useful for designing data... Both programs I'm talking about allowed you to manage servers, create database, create tables, index, perform querys, edit data, etc... unfortunately I don't even recall there names...   Hi What is the recommended way to transfer files via FTP and manage (rename, move, delete) files in an FTP server programmatically in a Windows Scripting Host script file (JavaScript/VBScript)? I've got an application that I want to convert so that it can run in a completely managed environment, but most of the game logic relies upon Lua scripts, and the application uses Luabind to manage the back-and-forth.
