    I trying to use open source server monitoring tool. I know there are a lot, but I couldn't find what I need.. the basic process of monitoring tool I used to use before was, 1) Install agent in my server which I want to monitor 2) The agent send data to "their server" 3) I can check the health of my server through web browser presented by them. What I need is, avoiding "Step 2". Are there any monitoring tool that I can use? I have Windows 2008 and Linux servers simple feature will be enough like (CPU, Memory, Network..) Thank you

  • jQuery accordion menu - keep accordion menu open to the page I am on

    Hi everyone, I hope you can help. I'm very new to jQuery and am working on a five- or six-level accordion menu for my side navigation. I got the majority of the code I have so far from Dane Peterson @ daneomatic.com (thanks Dane!). But, I'm stuck on one thing: I'd like to have my accordion/tree work like this: When I navigate down into, say, level three, and click on the link to open the page linked to that level, how do I indicate once the level three page loads that I'm on that page? Also, how do I keep the tree open to that level when I load the page? I guess what I'm asking is: is there a way for the accordion/tree to automatically update to show what page you're at, and have the tree open to that level? Thanks in advance!

    We have JSF web application that generates XLS file and gives user link to thes file. All works fine if access this file via HTTP. But IE(8) cannot open/save this xls file via HTTPS. There is following error message: Internet Explorer cannot download ...466088C5C313F92808BDB0AFF3447 from testhost. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. I can open the same document via HTTPS in Firefox and in Chrome. What can be the problem with IE?   • Good projects to learn OCaml and F#

    After learning the basic syntax, reading some non-trivial code is a fast way to learn a language. We can also learn how to design a library/software during reading others' code. I have following lists. A Chess program in OCaml by Tomek Czajka. Hal Daumé has written several machine learning libraries in Ocaml. Including decision trees, logistic regression and SVM. All of them are near-production-quality code. A Chess Game Analysis program in F# in Microsoft Research. The above three are my favorites. Will you suggest some other sources? General purpose open source software are good, specialized open source like the three I list here are even more welcome.

  • Visual Studio Add-in to view open files

    I frequently have 10 or more files open in Visual Studio at one time. I am looking for an add-in that will duplicate the functionality of the "Windows" Window, but in a NON-Modal, dockable type window. In other words a window with a list of the files open in the IDE, that I can dock next to the Solution explorer or something, and just click on to switch to that open file (if anyone has ever used Textpad, the Document Selector is exactly what I am talking about). Anyone seen an Add-in like that? Note: I am NOT talking about another Window Layout manager

  • file_get_contents() returns "failed to open stream" when used with Facebook access_token flow

    file_get_contents() is returning "failed to open stream" when I call it on a Facebook oAuth access_token URL. Warning: file_get_contents(https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=XXXXX&redirect_uri=http://mydomain.com/fb/callback3.php&client_secret=xxxx&code=YYYY) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No error in E:\\htdocs\fb\callback3.php on line 5 (I have removed ClientID, clientSecret and the oAuth Code). If I try to manually hit the Facebook access_token URL that my code is attempting to fetch, I get an actual payload returned in the browser: access_token=XYZ&expires=6508 (where XYZ is the access token) So for some reason, there is a problem with the access_token URL specifically when used with file_get_contents(). At first, I thought it was a security issue with my webhoster, but I have verified with phpinfo() that allow url open is indeed allowed. I have also tried this code and verified it works: $foo = file_get_contents('http://google.com'); echo $foo Anyone have any ideas why file_get_contents() is failing with the Facebook access_token URL?

  • Cost of using ASP.NET

    One thing that I keep hearing in reference to ASP.NET and MSFT technologies is that they cost money to use. Often when they are being compared to open source languages someone will mention that one factor in favor of open source is that it's free (to an extent). My question is, when does ASP.NET actually cost money to use in terms of using the proprietary technology? Understandably there are the hosting fees, but I'm curious about the fees outside of these hosting fees. I'm especially curious about this as it relates one-person smaller-site development (non-team/large enterprise). Any help is appreciated. (edits) Some excellent answers. Much appreciated The projects that I'm looking to use the technologies for would be personal sites and very small business sites (1 or 2). The intent would of course be that these projects get much bigger. It seems that for commercial production, fees will apply. What about just basic dynamic "shared hosting" sites that provide information?

    I'm trying to open a URL in Safari. It works fine for websites without Flash embedded, but crashes Safari for Flash sites. Example (this WORKS): tell application "Safari" to open location "http://google.com" This CRASHES when Safari is not already running: tell application "Safari" to open location "http://grooveshark.com" Two things I noticed: Safari only crashes for websites with embedded Flash The script above only crashes if a new instance of Safari is created (i.e. Safari was not running before) From the second observation I assume that it could be a permission issue of some sort. Maybe the Safari instance launched from the AppleScript has a problem loading plugins?

    Hi, I have an Internet app running on Grails 1.1.2 and it integrates Spring WebFlow mechanism. The problem is that there are some bots ignoring robots.txt and are entering the flow quite often. Because second step of the flow needs some human intelligence, the bot leaves open flow after the first step. This causes a lot of open flows which leades to a lot of abandoned open hibernate sessions. Do you know some common clean-up mechanism for this kind of unattended flows (plus hibernate sessions) in Grails+Spring WebFlow? Thanks, Pavel

    My application uses fopen to open a lot of files. While in linux opening and reading thousand of files doesn't even take a second; in cygwin it takes more than 5 seconds. I think it is because path conversion functions in cygwin dlls. 'open' function is a bit faster. If I use -mno-cygwin it becomes very fast but I can't use it. Is there an easy way to make cygwin dlls just open files; without any linux-windows conversion?

    I'm releasing an application I wrote as an open-source project by creating a public source-code repository. I use a third-party library which is also open-source and freely redistributable. I'm not versioning the third-party library, but should I include it in my repository for the convenience of those cloning the repository or should I expect them to download the third-party library on their own? To be clear, I'm not asking if I should version the third-party code or if I can redistribute it, but whether it is standard practice to include third-party source code as a convenience.

    I am looking for a way to programatically open the "New Document" dialog in Word 2007. It is the same one you get when you select File-New . You can also open it using the FileNew macro or the "New..." menu command. However, I have been unable to find a way to do this programmatically. I have tried: Application.Run MacroName:="FileNew" and Dialogs(wdDialogFileNew).Show and CommandBars.FindControl(ID:=5746).Execute but both of these open the old dialog, not the new one that word 2007 uses.

  • Too many open files error in Glassfish3 while using https listener

    I have a problem running webservice that requires https connection(Glassfish3). After running for a while, it eventually crashes. Log file show "Failed to load keystore type JKS with path ....config/keystore.jks due to ...config/keystore.jks (Too many open files)". lsof shows that a number of open files are constantly increasing (among others, I noticed that there are many files with type 'sock' and undefined protocol that never get closed). I tried changing the limit of open files, but it resulted in a longer time before crashing... I blamed the webservice, but everything works fine if the application doesn't require confidential protocol. Did I miss anything in http listener configuration ? Or it is rather an application error?     I'm trying desperately to find a software licensing model that would allow me to make my product completely open to the public domain for personal use/modification, but would be able to be sold commercially. I know such a beast exists, and I'm sure in many flavors.     I'm looking at free streaming audio players for web browsers that I can use in a project. I really like the audio player used on http://freemusicarchive.org/. Are they using an open source audio player and can I get a hold of it? Or is it closed source? Also if there are any open-source audio players that anybody knows about I'd love to know about them (preferable to have one with no flash). Last thing...is HTML5 going to be able to replace audio streaming players?
