  • Appdomain recycle settings on mod_mono & Apache

    How does one control the application recycle settings for an ASP.NET application runnin on mod_mono & Apache ? On IIS6 & 7 there was an option to specify either a time period, a number of requests, etc. when the AppDomain would be recycled and the application would basically do an Application_End() / Application_Start(). I am seeing the same behaviour on mod_mono & Apache ,but I can't find where to change the settings.

  • 2-col layout, one col scrolls vertical, other is fixed. Both scroll horizontal.

    Im trying to do a 2 column layout where the left column is very long vertically, and the right column is very long horizontally. When I scroll vertically, I want to move up and down the left column while the right one stays fixed. When I scroll horizontally, both columns move left-right (normal behaviour) I hope this drawing explain it more (sorry for the bad quality): Is this possible to do using only css? If not, how can I do it with javascript? Thanks

  • How do I get TextMate style quotes in Emacs?

    In textmate, when there's a current selection, I hit the " key and the selection gets surrounded by quotes. The same thing happens with other balanced characters like (, {, [ and '. Am I missing something obvious in Emacs configuration that would enable similar behaviour when using transient mark mode, or do I need to break out elisp and write something?

  • Is there a problem when I call SqlAdapter.Update and at the same time call SqlDataReader.Read

    I have two applications, one updates a single table which has constant number of rows (128 rows) using SqlDataAdapter.Update method , and another application that select from this table periodically using SqlDataReader. sometimes the DataReader returns only 127 rows not 128, and the update application does not remove or even insert any new rows, it just update. I am asking what is the cause of this behaviour?

    Hi all, i'm trying to make SwfUpload working. In some cases, I've a strange behaviour. So I would like to inspect the flows sended and received by the flash component. And I've tryed to use fiddler to do that, but I can't capture data comming from flash or going to flash. Is there a way to do that ?     With the following simple mark-up, I get very strange behaviour in FF and IE8. If I give the textbox focus, and tab out, nothing happens. If I give a user name value, and erase it immediately, nothing happens. However, only when I supply a user name, tab away, the erase it and tab away again, do I finally get a red star "required" mark. The summary doesn't show at all.

But from times to times, there is some differences in the layout: placing some widgets does not have the same behavior as in windows or linux. Is there a pre-loaded controller for every function like that in cake, or is it weird that he is expecting a controller to be there for a feature we didn't have yet.

    OS: Linux, Language: pure C I'm moving forward in learning C progpramming in general, and C programming under UNIX in a special case :D So, I detected a strange (as for me) behaviour of the printf() function after using a fork() call. Let's take a look at simple test program: #include <stdio.h> #include <system.h> int main() { int pid; printf( "Hello, my pid is %d", getpid() ); pid = fork(); if( pid == 0 ) { printf( "\nI was forked! :D" ); sleep( 3 ); } else { waitpid( pid, NULL, 0 ); printf( "\n%d was forked!", pid ); } return 0; } In this case the output looks like: Hello, my pid is 1111 I was forked! :DHello, my pid is 1111 2222 was forked! Why the second "Hello" string occured in the child's output? Yes, it is exactly what the parent printed on it's start, with the parent's pid. But! If we place '\n' character in the end of each string we got the expected output: #include <stdio.h> #include <system.h> int main() { int pid; printf( "Hello, my pid is %d\n", getpid() ); // SIC!! pid = fork(); if( pid == 0 ) { printf( "I was forked! :D" ); //removed the '\n', no matter sleep( 3 ); } else { waitpid( pid, NULL, 0 ); printf( "\n%d was forked!", pid ); } return 0; } And the output looks like: Hello, my pid is 1111 I was forked! :D 2222 was forked! Why does it happen? Is it ... ummm ... correct behaviour? Or it's a kind of the 'bug'?

    Hi, If I apply a style from the SL 3.0 Toolkit to my application the built in SL 3.0 data validation errors are not displayed on the application edit forms. If I removed the code that applies the toolkit style to the application the SL 3.0 data validation errors appear as per normal SL 3.0 behaviour? Has anyone else come across this problem?????     Is there a possibility to create any python object that will be not sortable? So that will be an exception when trying to sort a list of that objects? I created a very simple class, didn't define any comparison methods, but still instances of this class are comparable and thus sortable. Maybe, my class inherits comparison methods from somewhere. But I don't want this behaviour.

    I'm looking for a way to have the Xcode IDE pick up on the contents of my weird Boost template classes. Basically, classes complex enough that Xcode can't display their contents correctly. Is there something like the Objective C -description method or toString() in Java that Xcode will look for? At the moment I'm just implementing print() methods and invoking them in gdb, but that's likely to confuse other developers.

    When I drag and drop between datagrids preventing default behaviour, the cursor's does not come out of the grid. The grid's scroll bars keep moving as i move the mouse.. Even if i click outside the grid the cursor still has control over the grid and keeps scrolling as i move the mouse over the screen up and down.. Please help

  • Does anyone have experience simultaneously running a Drupal and Wordpress site and redirecting some

    This is a really weird question and I apologize: I've been asked if it's possible not to import our blog from Wordpress to Drupal but just keep it in Wordpress as an archive and re-direct our users say from hostname/blog/... to hostname/wordpress/... when a URL matches the Wordpress URL pattern. I've never heard of anyone trying this and I'm wondering about pitfalls and whether or not it's even possible. Thanks! D
