  • Using JLists and ListModels

    I have defined a DirectoryListModel class that extends the AbstractListModel class from the Java Api. Internally, I have a list of File objects. I have defined the getElementAt(int index) method as: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index) } The problem is that when I try to run my JList with my DirectoryListModel, it is going to show up the full paths of files instead of just the filenames. I could change this code to: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index).getName(); } and it'd work wonders, but the problem is that in the onclick event I'll want to have the File objects so I can do some checking with them (check if they're directories, etc). If I make getElementAt() return a String, I'm losing that possibility, thus I'd like to konw if there is a way I can format my File objects before the JList shows them in my window. Thanks

    I have an app that uses the LocationManage functions which works well until the app is stopped or paused. The location listener function is still carrying on in the background.     This simple test, of course, works as expected: scala var b = 2 b: Int = 2 scala b += 1 scala b res3: Int = 3 Now I bring this into scope: class A(var x: Int) { def +=(y:Int) { this.x += y } } implicit def int2A(i:Int) : A = new A(i) I'm defining a new class and a += operation on it. I never expected this would affect the way my regular Ints behave. But it does: scala var b:Int = 0 b: Int = 0 scala b += 1 scala b res29: Int = 0 scala b += 2 scala b res31: Int = 0 Scala seems to prefer the implicit conversion over the natural += that is already defined to Ints. That leads to several questions... Why? Is this a bug? Is it by design? Is there a work-around (other than not using "+=")? Thanks

    I need an onsubmit to return false if what's written on the first field is a certain PHP value however the field has a strange id format and I'm not quite sure how to add it in the onsubmit.     I'm looking for a way to include a few additional strings in output .java files generated from antlr. Is there a comprehensive listing of available directives?   • Sort objects and polymorphism

    Suppose I have a class A. And B and C are child of A. Class A has a generic algorithm for sorting arrays of type A, so that I could use it for B and C without writing again the algorithm for each. In the algorithm, sometimes I have to swap. The problem is that I can only see the objects as type A, and if I do: A aux = array[i] array[i] = array[j] array[j] = aux I think I have a problem. Because array[i], maybe its of type B, and aux is of type A, so I think I'm losing information. I'm sure u understand this situation... how can I sort a generic array of objects using a father method algorithm?

    My question may be a part of an old topic - "properties vs fields". I have situation where variable is read-only for outside class but needs to modified inside a class. I can approach it in 2 ways: First: private Type m_Field; public Type MyProperty { get { return m_Field; } } Second: public Type MyProperty { get; private set; } After reading several articles (that mostly covered benefits of using public properties instead of public fields) I did not get idea if the second method has some advantage over the first one but writing less code. I am interested which one will be better practice to use in projects (and why) or it's just a personal choice. Maybe this question does not belong to SO so I apologize in advance.

    I have used this snippet to prevent webkit from changing antialiasing when using CSS transforms: html{ -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; } This works fine for most cases, however I noticed some weirdness in chrome when playing around with Bootstrap using this HTML: <button class="btn btn-inverse">John Doe</button> <a class="btn btn-inverse">John Doe</a>? This is how it looks in OSX/Chrome: Fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/hY2J7/. In fact, it seems that it is not applied to buttons at all. Is there a safer technique to trigger the same antialiasing in webkit for all elements?

    Hi i have a document from which i am trying to extract a date. But the problem is within the node along with the date their is some text too. Something like <div class="postHeader"> Posted on July 20, 2009 9:22 PM PDT </div> From this tag i just want the date item not the Posted on text. something like ./xhtml:div[@class = 'postHeader'] is getting everything. and to be precise, the document i have is basically a nodelist of this elements for eg i will get 10 nodes of these elements with different date values but to be worse the problem is sometime inside these tags some random other tags also pops us like anchors etc. Can i write a universal expath which will just get the date out of the div tag?

    Just a quick syntax question. I'm writing a map class (for school). If I define the following operator overload: template<typename Key, typename Val> class Map {... Val* operator[](Key k); What happens when a user writes: Map<int,int> myMap; map[10] = 3; Doing something like that will only overwrite a temporary copy of the [null] pointer at Key k. Is it even possible to do: map[10] = 3; printf("%i\n", map[10]); with the same operator overload?

  • How do I get a Type[] with arguments from a MethodCallExpression?

    I'm reflecting over a class (in a unit test of said class) to make sure its members have all the required attributes. To do so, I've constructed a couple of helpers, that take an Expression as an argument. I do some checks for it, and take slightly different actions depending on what type of Expression it is, but it's basically the same. Now, my problem is that I have several methods with the same name (but different signatures), and the following code throws an AmbiguousMatchException: // TOnType is a type argument for the type where the method is declared // mce is the MethodCallExpression var m = typeof(TOnType).GetMethod(mce.Method.Name); Now, if I could add an array of Type[] with the types of the arguments to this method as a second parameter to .GetMethod(), the problem would be solved. But how do I find this Type[] array that I need? I have cast the Expression<Func<...>> to an Expression, and then to a MethodCallExpression, and in this method the contents of <...> is not known.

    I'm using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2. I created two tables A and B using SQL developer. Table A has a FK to table B. Using the Entities from Tables function, I created two JPA files from it. A has @ManyToOne annotation on FK. And also B has @OneToMany annotation to A. I don't want this. Can I remove this @OneToMany annotation automatically? public class A implements Serializable { ... @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name = "FIELD_B") private B b; ... } public class B implements Serializable { ... @OneToMany(mappedBy = "B") private List<A> assetList; ... } I don't need @OneToMany mapping.

Like dismissModalViewController in their titles of methods, or documentation like: "The UIViewController class provides the fundamental view-management model for iPhone applications. The basic view controller class supports the presentation of an associated view in addition to basic support for managing modal views and rotating views in response to device orientation changes. Subclasses such as UINavigationController and UITabBarController provide additional behavior for managing complex hierarchies of view controllers and views."   • With custom binding for Masonry how would I resize the container appropriately

    Based on the suggestion give here, and the information given here on how to make a custom bindingHandler for a forEach, I decided to attempt to write my own custom binding for a forEach and Masonry. Because the elements are added on the fly the redrawing and moving around of elements to fill the space doesn't occur. So, this functionality needed to be moved after the elements have been rendered or called after each item has been added.
