• parsec-3.1.0 with custom token datatype

  parsec-3.1.0 ( http://hackage.haskell.org/package/parsec-3.1.0 ) works with any token type. However there are combinators like Text.Parsec.Char.satisfy that are only defined for Char datatype. There doesn't seem to be any more general counterpart available. Should I define my own versions or did I miss something? Perhaps there are different parser libraries in Haskell that allows: custom token types custom parser state (I need to parse stateful format - Wavefront OBJ)

  I've got aConfiguration object that I can easily read and write settings from and call Save(ConfigurationSaveMode.Minimal, true) on and that typically works just fine. However, I now have a config file that has a custom sectionGroup defined of type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler (I didn't write that part and I can't change it). Now when I call the Save method, it throws a TypeLoadException Message: Type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler does not inherit from System.Configuration.ConfigurationSectionGroup. • Complex SQL query... names of returned variables

  Excuse me for what I'm sure is an elementary question for most of you, but I have an issue with table columns from separate tables having the same name as one another, and trying to select from both tables in the same query. Okay, so this is my code: $q_value = $mdb2->quote($_POST['query']); $field = $_POST['field']; $sql = "SELECT m.*, l.name FROM memberlist m, mail_lists l WHERE m.$field=$q_value AND l.id = m.list ORDER BY m.id"; $l_list = $mdb2->queryAll($sql, '', 'MDB2_FETCHMODE_ASSOC'); The table memberlist has the following columns: id, email, list, sex, name and the table mail_lists has the following columns: id, name After running the query, I later loop through the results with a foreach like so: foreach ($l_list as $l){ //blahblah } The problem is that the column 'name' in mail_lists refers to the names of the list, while the column 'name' in memberlist refers to the name of the member. When I later access $l-name (within the foreach), will I get m.name, or l.name? Furthermore, how do I get access to the other? Or will I just have to do two separate queries?

• What does this WCF error mean: "Custom tool warning: Cannot import wsdl:portType"

  I created a WCF service library project in my solution, and have service references to this. I use the services from a class library, so I have references from my WPF application project in addition to the class library. Services are set up straight forward - only changed to get async service functions. Everything was working fine - until I wanted to update my service references. It failed, so I eventually rolled back and retried, but it failed even then! So - updating the service references fails without doing any changes to it. Why?! The error I get is this one: Custom tool error: Failed to generate code for the service reference 'MyServiceReference'. Please check other error and warning messages for details. The warning gives more information: Custom tool warning: Cannot import wsdl:portType Detail: An exception was thrown while running a WSDL import extension: System.ServiceModel.Description.DataContractSerializerMessageContractImporter Error: List of referenced types contains more than one type with data contract name 'Patient' in namespace 'http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/MyApp.Model'. Need to exclude all but one of the following types. So; in the "Configure service reference" for the service I uncheck the "Reuse types in the referenced assemblies" checkbox. Rebuilding now it all works fine without problems. But what did I really change? Will this make an impact on my application? And when should one uncheck this? I do want to reuse the types I've set up DataContract on, but no more. Will I still get access to those without this checked?

• Calculation Expression Parser with Nesting and Variables in ActionScript

  Hi There, I'm trying to enable dynamic fields in the configuration file for my mapping app, but I can't figure out how to parse the "equation" passed in by the user, at least not without writing a whole parser from scratch! I'm sure there is some easier way to do this, and so I'm asking for ideas! Basic idea: public var testString:String = "(#TOTPOP_CY#-#HISPOP_CY#)/#TOTPOP_CY#"; public var valueObject:Object = {TOTPOP_CY:1000, HISPOP_CY:100}; public function calcParse(eq:String):String { // do calculations return calculatedValue } So far, I was thinking of splitting the expression by either the operators, or maybe the variable tokens, but that gets rid of the parenthetical nesting. Alternatively, use a series of regex to search and replace each piece of the expression with its value, recursively running until only a number is left. But I don't think regex does math (i.e. replace "\d + \d" with the sum of the two numbers) Ideally, I'd just do a find/replace all variable names with their values, then run an eval(), but there's no eval in AS... eesh I downloaded some course materials for a course on compiler design, so maybe I'll just write a full-fledged calculator language and parser and port it over from the OTHER flex (the parser generator) :-D

• Custom NSView in NSMenuItem not receiving mouse events

  I have an NSMenu popping out of an NSStatusItem using popUpStatusItemMenu. These NSMenuItems show a bunch of different links, and each one is connected with setAction: to the openLink: method of a target. This arrangement has been working fine for a long time. The user chooses a link from the menu and the openLink: method then deals with it. Unfortunately, I recently decided to experiment with using NSMenuItem's setView: method to provide a nicer/slicker interface. Basically, I just stopped setting the title, created the NSMenuItem, and then used setView: to display a custom view. This works perfectly, the menu items look great and my custom view is displayed. However, when the user chooses a menu item and releases the mouse, the action no longer works (i.e., openLink: isn't called). If I just simply comment out the setView: call, then the actions work again (of course, the menu items are blank, but the action is executed properly). My first question, then, is why setting a view breaks the NSMenuItem's action. No problem, I thought, I'll fix it by detecting the mouseUp event in my custom view and calling my action method from there. I added this method to my custom view: - (void)mouseUp:(NSEvent *)theEvent { NSLog(@"in mouseUp"); } No dice! This method is never called. I can set tracking rects and receive mouseEntered: events, though. I put a few tests in my mouseEntered routine, as follows: if ([[self window] ignoresMouseEvents]) { NSLog(@"ignoring mouse events"); } else { NSLog(@"not ignoring mouse events"); } if ([[self window] canBecomeKeyWindow]) { dNSLog((@"canBecomeKeyWindow")); } else { NSLog(@"not canBecomeKeyWindow"); } if ([[self window] isKeyWindow]) { dNSLog((@"isKeyWindow")); } else { NSLog(@"not isKeyWindow"); } And got the following responses: not ignoring mouse events canBecomeKeyWindow not isKeyWindow Is this the problem? "not isKeyWindow"? Presumably this isn't good because Apple's docs say "If the user clicks a view that isn’t in the key window, by default the window is brought forward and made key, but the mouse event is not dispatched." But there must be a way do detect these events. HOW? Adding: [[self window] makeKeyWindow]; has no effect, despite the fact that canBecomeKeyWindow is YES.

• UIButton: Need a circle hit area

  Ok I have 6 custom UIButtons. Their normal state image are all circles images. They are all spaced out equally but all the circles touch each other. The problem with the custom UIbutton (which has a circle image on it), is that the hit area of that button is square, and the corners of this square overlaps the hitarea of the other custom button's hitarea. How do i make the hit area of a UIbutton whos normal state has a circle image, be only clickable on that circle only, rather than the normal square hit area?! • Build error with variables and url_for in Flask

  Have found one or two people on the interwebs with similar problems, but haven't seen a solution posted anywhere. I'm getting a build error from the code/template below, but can't figure out where the issue is or why it's occurring. It appears that the template isn't recognizing the function, but don't know why this would be occurring.   I am adding functionality into my scripts so that they can use kerberos authentication to run automatically and use secure protocols when executing. I have my functionality working for shell scripts that do exactly what i want, however i am having issues porting it to perl to work within my perl scripts as i am new to perl.
