• Is there an IE8 setting for "minimum font size" to display?

  When I look at our website in IE8 the text we have set to display smaller doesn't display smaller. But when I use BrowserShots.org it shows IE8 renderings with the smaller text appropriately smaller. So I'm thinking that there must be some setting in IE8 for "minimum font size to display". It's not the the TextSize (set to Medium) or Zoom setting (I set/reset zoom to 100%). It's something else. Any ideas?

• 32bit dll not loading with Enable 32 Bit Applications on IIS 7.5

  I have a MVC 3 Web Site referencing a 32 bit DLL. The OS is Windows 2008 R2 x64. The website is in the ASP.NET 4 App Pool. I have turned on Enable32Bit but it doesn't work. I get a Bad Image Exception but can't find out to turn this level of logging on in IIS. I have setup up a page that outputs whether it's running 32bit or 64bit and when I turn on/off the Enable32Bit on the AppPool I get the correct output. The website is also in Full Trust. I'm at a loss to try and and get it to work. I do know that it works on Win7 32bit. Can you suggest some things to try? UPDATE: I have just written a simple Windows Forms App with a button on it which calls my DLL. This was built with target of x86 and it worked fine so there is an issue with IIS or ASP.Net I think. UPDATE 2: Does it matter if the ASP.Net Pipeline is Clasic or Integrated? I've tried both but same problem but thought it was worth asking UPDATE 3: I found this question trying to do the same thing and he gave up which isnt too helpful!!

The gradient on the footer looks great in non IE browsers, but fails to show in IE 7,8 and the dev preview. Any ideas?

  I use 64.202.189.170 (godaddy) for a HTTP access to a www...on google app engine like GAE issue 777 so that a blank subdomain forwards to www.domain I get the blank to respond by output "This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. • Internet Explorer 8 timeout too quick on page POSTs

  We have an asp.net site running, which has been working fine for some time, but recently I have been experiencing some issues with IE8. On posting some pages - mainly on our development server, although on staging too - we get an occasional "Internet Explore cannot display the webpage" error along with the button asking to diagnose connection problems. IE only seems to wait 10 seconds before timing out. I know that the page itself may take longer to load the first time (on dev and staging). So press F5 and everything then works fine. Is there anything that should be done in the aspx page to tell IE to wait a bit longer? I thought I had read that the default timeout supposed to be 90 seconds or something for browsers. A bit more info: It mostly happens on a POSTing a signup page, but that is just because I test that page and it starts the IIS App, makes the first connection to SQL and pre-caches some information. That first time the page can take 10-15 seconds to come back. IE8 times out after 10 seconds as it has had nothing back. This happens on a dev W7x64 machine with 8GB RAM, as well as on a staging server WIN2008. Having googled around a bit, some people are seeing the same problem, but no conclusive pointers to the problem or a solution. It isn't a connection problem; everything works fine in Firefox, Chrome and even IE7; I have tried with add-ons disabled and resetting IE settings, still happens. Ideas welcome.

• Why won't the vertical margins between <p> and <hr> collapse in IE7

  Hello all, Perhaps I am missing something, but I can't explain this from any IE bug I know of. • ASPX page renders differently when reached on intranet vs. internet?

  This is so odd to me.. I have IIS 5 running on XP and it's hosting a small ASP.Net app for our LAN that we can access by using the computer name, virtual directory, and page name (http://matt/smallapp/customers.aspx), but you can also hit that IIS server and page from the internet because I have a public IP that my firewall routes to the "Matt" computer (like http://213.202.3.88/smallapp/customers.aspx [just a made-up IP]). Don't worry, I have Windows domain authentication is in place to protect the app from anonymous users. So all the abovea parts works fine. But what's weird is that the Border of the divs on the page are rendered much thicker when you access the page from the intranet, versus the internet, (I'm using IE8) and also, some of the div layout (stretching and such) acts differently. Why would it render different in the same browser based on whether it was reached from the LAN vs. the internet? It does NOT do this in FireFox. So it must be just an IE8 thing. All the CSS for the divs is right in the HTML page, so I do not think it is a caching matter of a CSS file.   Hello All! I used sliding doors technique, explained here: http://www.oscaralexander.com/tutorials/how-to-make-sexy-buttons-with-css.html With only one exception, that I decided to add one more image for "hover" effect. My code works well for all browsers, except IE8 (and maybe earlier versions). a.submit-button:active and a.submit-button:active span are simply blocked by "hover" and never work. Does anyone knows solution for this? • Why does copying an XML file from Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit to Windows XP 32-bit change the file?

  What I do: Copy an xml file (ctrl+C) on a Win Server 2008 machine. Minimize mstsc.exe (remote connection app). Paste the xml file on to my WinXP machine (ctrl+V). The result: All of the original contents are still present but another bit is appended at the end of it. If I do the copy multiple times, the extra bits are always exactly the same but another XML file will add different lines. Extra information: If I copy/paste the file, as above, but first enclose it into a zip file I do not have the same problem. I.e. the file copies properly and without any extra surprises. • Finding N contiguous zero bits in an integer to the left of the MSB position of another integer

  The problem is: given an integer val1 find the position of the highest bit set (Most Significant Bit) then, given a second integer val2 find a contiguous region of unset bits, with the minimum number of zero bits given by width to the left of the position (ie, in the higher bits). I have also implemented similar algorithms but working to the right of the MSB of the first number, so they don't require this seemingly extra condition. How can I get rid of this extra condition, or even, are there far more optimal solutions? Edit: Some background not strictly required. The offset result is a count of bits from the high bit, not from the low bit as maybe expected. This will be part of a wider algorithm which scans a 2D array for a 2D area of zero bits. Here, for testing, the algorithm has been simplified. val1 represents the first integer which does not have all bits set found in a row of the 2D array. From this the 2D version would scan down which is what val2 represents. • Styling related issue in IE8

  I am using a background image to display as a button. The button shows up well in all versions of firefox, chrome, opera etc. However, the image fails to render itself in IE8. Only the image is not being shown, some of the other class styling gets applied such as width, height etc. Even more confounding is that in another page(though a different class and style sheet), an image of similar proportions gets displayed in similar usage. The image format is JPG. I'm copy-pasting the valid style attributes for both cases as shown by firebug below.   12.04 LTS, on a dell mini 10. Install stable until about a week ago. Updated about 1x a week, sometimes more often. Several days ago, I booted up and the system was no longer working correctly. All these symptoms occurred simultaneously: Cannot run (exit on opening, every time): Update manager, software center, ubuntuOne, libreOffice. Afaik - You only need 64-bit if you want to run a system that has more than 4gigs of memory. Why would any flash game require more than 4 gigs of memory. The only system that is 64-bits and does not have 4gigs of memory that I can quickly recall is that hilarious Nintendo that came ages ago with a Motorola CPU.

  Is there a way to determine the speed of the PCI Express connection to a specific card? I have three cards plugged in: two Nvidia GTX 480's (one at x16 & and one at x8) one Nvidia GTX 460 running at x8 Is there some way, either by a function call in C or an option to lspci that I can determine the bus speed of the graphics cards? When I only use one of the cards for my CUDA program, I'd like to use the one which is running at x16. Thanks! Note: lspci -vvv dumps out For the two GTX 480s. • how does the rectangle bounds (x,y,width,height) in libgdx work

  I cant work out how to use the rectangle bounds in libgdx I am currently using the superJumper example and have 2or 3 examples with that are pause Bounds = new Rectangle(320 - 64, 480 - 64, 64, 64); this is the pause button in the top right corner resume Bounds = new Rectangle(160 - 96, 240, 192, 36); this is a rectangle resume button in the middle of the page in the menu that comes up when the pause button is pressed. basically my question is aimed at the 360 -64 and 160 -96 because I don't know why this is used I need to create a rectangle that covers the left side of the screen and the same on the right because I want to create a on screen buttons, I have already created the does for these buttons and I have managed to get them to work but I can move the rectangles to where I want.   Hi all I am trying to do bit reversal in a byte. The output is 10111110001000000000000000000000. Is there any method to only reverse the actual number? I do not want to convert it to string and reverser, then convert again.   In GMP library, _mp_size holds the number of limbs of an integer.. we can create integers of size 1 limb(32bits),2 limbs(64bits),3 limbs(96bits)...so on. using mpz_init or mpz_random functions.. cant we create an integer variable of size 8bit or 16 bit.. other than multiples of 32 bit size ??? can you code for that?? thank you ..

• "RFC 2833 RTP Event" Consecutive Events and the E "End" Bit

  Hello, I can send out a RFC 2833 dtmf event as outlined at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2833.txt When I do set the E "End" bit, but leave it as 0, I get the following behaviour: If for example keys 7874556332111111145855885#3 were pressed, then ALL events would be sent and show up in a program like wireshark, however only 87456321458585#3 would sound. So the first key (which I figure could be a separate issue) and any repeats of an event (ie 11111) are failing to sound. In section 3.9, figure 2 of the above linked document, they give a 911 example. Here all but the last event have the E bit set. When I set the bit for all numbers, I never get an event to sound. I have thought of a couple possible thing but do not know if they are the reason: 1) figure 2 shows payload types of 96 and 97 sent. I have not nor know how to exactly. In section 3.8, codes 96 and 97 are described as "the dynamic payload types 96 and 97 have been assigned for the redundancy mechanism and the telephone event payload respectively" 2) In section 3.5, "E:", "A sender MAY delay setting the end bit until retransmitting the last packet for a tone, rather than on its first transmission" Does anyone have an idea of how to actually do this? I have also fiddled around with timestamp intervals and the RTP marker. Any help is greatly appreciated. When the query results are displayed in the datagridview, these bit columns are returned as of ColumnType Textbox - so i get a Datagridview textbox column with true or false string values. I want to display Completed and Taken as Checkbox columns (either ticked for True or un-ticked for false) but ofcourse i can't do this in EditColumn dialogue because the Datagridview is unbound. how can i change this in code at runtime
