• Facebook requests 3 post_authorize/post_remove. How can I stop it?

- by Ray Yun
When user authorize or remove application, Facebook always request post_authorize or post_remove callback 3 times. Only I throws HTTP 500 error, it stop calling them. Yeah, it would be easy to ignore subsequent requests when I successfully handled that. So this maybe academic question. Is there any method to stop facebook requests with http status code??? :)

• When I use facebook connect how much access do I have to the user's friends?

- by user220755
So, if you sign in using facebook on my website, how much access do I have to your friends? I am asking this question because I want for example to know if a user asks me a question about his/her friend, I can go through their Facebook status messages for example and tell them the answer depending on parsing information but do I have access to the user's friends information or no? (And how can I do that if it is possible in another way)

• [Facebook Graph API - Android] I want to know the HTTPSConnection redirected to which URL?

- by Mohammad Abdelaziz
I am building an application that uses the Facebook Graph API. To get the access token I should send the following request https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/authorize? client_id=...& redirect_uri=http://www.example.com/callback It redirects to the redirect_uri with the code to be used as access token. How can I capture that the HttpsURLConnection is redirected and how to get the code? Is it possible or I need to have server that gets the access token?

• Accessing weakly typed facebook sdk result object properties in .NET 3.5 using the API?

- by John K
Consider the following in .NET 3.5 (using the Bin\Net35\Facebook*.dll assemblies): var app = new FacebookApp(); var result = app.Get("me"); // want to access result properties with no dynamic ... in the absence of the C# 4.0 dynamic keyword this provides only a generic object. How best should I access the properties of this result value? Are there helper or utility methods or stronger types in the facebook C# sdk, or should I use standard .NET reflection techniques?

• Windows Azure SDK 1.3 addresses early adopter feedback

- by Eric Nelson
At the end of November 2010 we released a new version of the Windows Azure SDK which contains many new features driven by the great feedback of early adopters plus a shiny new portal. New Portal implemented in Silverlight: The new portal is implemented using Silverlight and replaces the (IMHO rather clunky) original HTML + JavaScript portal. It is 100% better although does still have a few bugs. Enjoy! P.S. You can if you wish still use the old portal: New runtime functionality: The following functionality is now generally available through the Windows Azure SDK and Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio and the new Windows Azure Management Portal: Elevated Privileges and Full IIS. You can now run a portion or all of your code in Web and Worker roles with elevated administrator privileges. The Web role now provides Full IIS functionality, which enables multiple IIS sites per Web role and the ability to install IIS modules. Remote Desktop functionality enables you to connect to a running instance of your application or service in order to monitor activity and troubleshoot common problems. Windows Server 2008 R2 Roles: Windows Azure now supports Windows Server 2008 R2 in its Web, worker and VM roles. This new support enables you to take advantage of the full range of Windows Server 2008 R2 features such as IIS 7.5, AppLocker, and enhanced command-line and automated management using PowerShell Version 2.0. New runtime functionality – in beta: Windows Azure Virtual Machine Role: Support for more types of new and existing Windows applications will soon be available with the introduction of the Virtual Machine (VM) role. You can move more existing applications to Windows Azure, reducing the need to make costly code or deployment changes. Extra Small Windows Azure Instance, which is priced at $0.05 per compute hour, provides developers with a cost-effective training and development environment. Developers can also use the Extra Small instance to prototype cloud solutions at a lower cost. Windows Azure Connect: (formerly Project Sydney), which enables a simple and easy-to-manage mechanism to set up IP-based network connectivity between on-premises and Windows Azure resources, is the first Windows Azure Virtual Network feature that we’re making available as a CTP. You can sign up for any of the betas via the Windows Azure Management Portal. Improved processes and simplified operations New portal! (see above) Access to new diagnostic information including the ability to click on a role to see role type, deployment time and last reboot time A new sign-up process that dramatically reduces the number of steps needed to sign up for Windows Azure. New scenario based Windows Azure Platform forums to help answer questions and share knowledge more efficiently. Multiple Service Administrators: Windows Azure now supports multiple Windows Live IDs to have administrator privileges on the same Windows Azure account. The objective is to make it easy for a team to work on the same Windows Azure account while using their individual Windows Live IDs. Related Links Please also let us know through Microsoft Platform Ready if and when you intend to build an application using the Windows Azure Platform. Or indeed if you already have (Well done). You will get access to some great benefits if you do (more on that in a future post). It also really helps us better understand the demand out there which directly impacts how we will plan the next six months of activities around the Windows Azure Platform. • Privoxy rule to block Facebook spying

- by bignose
Recently, my server's Privoxy rules to block Facebook's spying have failed. How can I block current Facebook spying links? Since soon after [the inception of Facebook's so-called “Open Graph” cross-site tracking widgets][1] (those “Like” bugs on numerous websites), I blocked them by using this rule (in user.action) on our site's Privoxy server: { +block-as-image{People-tracking button.} } .facebook.com/(plugins|widgets)/(like|fan).* That worked fine; the spying bugs no longer appeared on any web page. Today I noticed that they're all making it past that filter [edit: no, they're not]. SOLUTION: The proxy was being silently ignored, though this was not obvious in the client. The above rule continues to work fine.

• integriting facebook login button with Facebooker (rails plugin)

- by dexterdeng
I was integriting login-button with Facebooker, as I wanted to use facepile and customise the facebook login button, so I have to use facebook js sdk. I used the facebooker to connect facebook. now I found a issue. window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({ appId: '<%=Facebooker.api_key%>', status: true, cookie: true, xfbml: true }); }; (function() { var e = document.createElement('script'); e.type = 'text/javascript'; e.src = document.location.protocol + '//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js'; e.async = true; document.getElementById('fb-root').appendChild(e); }()); function fblogin(){ var pearms = "email,user_birthday,friends_location,offline_access,publish_stream,read_friendlists,user_birthday,user_location"; FB.getLoginStatus(function(response) { if (response.session) { // logged in and connected user, someone you know window.location = "http://domain/account/link_user_accounts"; return true; } else { // no user session available, someone you dont know FB.login(function(response) { if (response.session) { if (response.perms) { // after logged in the facebook account. $.inspect(response.perms);//return all these perms I expected. it should be fine there. window.location = "http://domain/account/link_user_accounts"; } return true; } else { return false; } },"email,user_birthday,friends_location,offline_access,publish_stream,read_friendlists"); } }) }; Let's say if the api_key is "1111111111". take a look at this line: " ` if (response.session) { if (response.perms) { $.inspect(response.perms); " now I was trying to login , call fblogin() , I'm sure that the response.perms equal to the perms I expected. (btw, at that time, I have a facebook plugin named facepile works too, it showed my friends after I called fblogin() and connected to facebook by typing my email and password ). so now it should run window.location = "http://domain/account/link_user_accounts"; yes, this line run. but the facebook_session can't build successfully. after digging the facebooker's code, I found this from the rails plugin facebooker: def create_facebook_session secure_with_facebook_params! || secure_with_cookies! || secure_with_token! end mostly, it would run secure_with_cookies! , and if the cookies with keys as "fbs_#{Facebooker.api_key}","#{Facebooker.api_key}_ss", "#{Facebooker.api_key}_session_key",.. created, then the facebook_session can be created. but these cookies can't be created after I logged in facebook until I refresh the current page by hand . I noticed if I refresh the page, the cookies with these keys added to the browser. but why they can't be added after I logged in facebook at once? I need these keys to create facebook_session. did I forgot something excepted these code I pasted? anybody help? thank you very much!

• Netbean Cannot update Google App Engine server to appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2

- by sy
I am using Netbean 6.7.1 I just update my google app engine plugin in netbean with Netbean auto update. I found out there is new app engine SDK. So i want to update my google app engine server to point to appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2 After I download appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2.zip. I unzip it. Then at Netbean: I already have a Google App Engine server under Services - Server. I can't find anyway to point it to the newly installed sdk folder. So I deleted the existing "Google App Engine" server & try to add a new one. Server - Add Server - Google App Engine - at "Installation Location", I point it to google app engine folder, which is "C:\appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2", it show this message at bottom "C:\appengine-java-sdk-1.3.2" & don't allow me to continue. May I know how to solve this? thanks!

• Facebook "->api" permissions

- by Matthieu Marcé
I have trouble using Facebook auth on my website... I'm using the PHP Sdk and I don't understand why I can use some functions like "getLoginUrl"/"getLoginStatusUrl"/"getUser" (with right answers : the facebook session is started, i get the user's facebook ID) and when I want to use something like $me = $facebook->api("/me/permissions"); or just $me = $facebook->api("/me"); there's always an exception and nothing works ... I guess it has something to do with permissions or token maybe, but I don't know what. When the user sign up on my website, I ask permissions I need with this scope : "email,user_about_me,user_location,read_friendlists,publish_stream" A clue that the permissions seem to be ok is that when the exception occures, I ask the user to sign in again (facebook connect) and no window appears as if everything's ok, but still, the page is reloaded and the exception appears again and again... Please help, Thank you !

• ODI SDK: Retrieving Information From the Logs

- by Christophe Dupupet
It is fairly common to want to retrieve data from the ODI logs: statistics, execution status, even the generated code can be retrieved from the logs. The ODI SDK provides a robust set of APIs to parse the repository and retreve such information. To locate the information you are looking for, you have to keep in mind the structure of the logs: sessions contain steps; steps containt tasks. The session is the execution unit: basically, each time you execute something (interface, package, procedure, scenario) you create a new session. The steps are the individual entries found in a session: these will be the icons in your package for instance. Or if you are running an interface, you will have one single step: the interface itself. The tasks will represent the more atomic elements of the steps: the individual DDL, DML, scripts and so forth that are generated by ODI, along with all the detailed statistics for that task. All these details can be retrieved with the SDK. Because I had a question recently on the API ODIStepReport, I focus explicitly in this code on Scenario logs, but a lot more can be done with these APIs. Here is the code sample (you can just cut and paste that code in your ODI 11.1.1.6 Groovy console). Just save, adapt the code to your environment (in particular to connect to your repository) and hit "run" //Created by ODI Studioimport oracle.odi.core.OdiInstanceimport oracle.odi.core.config.OdiInstanceConfigimport oracle.odi.core.config.MasterRepositoryDbInfo import oracle.odi.core.config.WorkRepositoryDbInfo import oracle.odi.core.security.Authentication  import oracle.odi.core.config.PoolingAttributes import oracle.odi.domain.runtime.scenario.finder.IOdiScenarioFinder import oracle.odi.domain.runtime.scenario.OdiScenario import java.util.Collection import java.io.* /* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simple sample code to list all executions of the last version of a scenario,along with detailed steps information----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- */ /* update the following parameters to match your environment => */def url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@myserver:1521:orcl"def driver = "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"def schema = "ODIM1116"def schemapwd = "ODIM1116PWD"def workrep = "WORKREP1116"def odiuser= "SUPERVISOR"def odiuserpwd = "SUNOPSIS" // Rather than hardcoding the project code and folder name, // a great improvement here would be to parse the entire repository def scenario_name = "LOAD_DWH" /*Scenario Name*/ /* <=End of the update section */ //--------------------------------------//Connection to the repository// Note for ODI 11.1.1.6: you could use predefined odiInstance variable if you are // running the script from a Studio that is already connected to the repository def masterInfo = new MasterRepositoryDbInfo(url, driver, schema, schemapwd.toCharArray(), new PoolingAttributes())def workInfo = new WorkRepositoryDbInfo(workrep, new PoolingAttributes())def odiInstance = OdiInstance.createInstance(new OdiInstanceConfig(masterInfo, workInfo)) //--------------------------------------// In all cases, we need to make sure we have authorized access to the repositorydef auth = odiInstance.getSecurityManager().createAuthentication(odiuser, odiuserpwd.toCharArray())odiInstance.getSecurityManager().setCurrentThreadAuthentication(auth) //--------------------------------------// Retrieve the scenario we are looking fordef odiScenario = ((IOdiScenarioFinder)odiInstance.getTransactionalEntityManager().getFinder(OdiScenario.class)).findLatestByName(scenario_name) if (odiScenario == null){    println("Error: cannot find scenario "+scenario_name);    return} //--------------------------------------// Retrieve all reports for the scenario def OdiScenarioReportsList = odiScenario.getScenarioReports() println("*** Listing all reports for Scenario \""+scenario_name+"\" ") //--------------------------------------// For each report, print the folowing:// - start time// - duration// - status// - step reports: selection of details for (s in OdiScenarioReportsList){        println("\tStart time: " + s.getSessionStartTime())        println("\tDuration: " + s.getSessionDuration())        println("\tStatus: " + s.getSessionStatus())                def OdiScenarioStepReportsList = s.getStepReports()        for (st in OdiScenarioStepReportsList){            println("\t\tStep Name: " + st.getStepName())            println("\t\tStep Resource Name: " + st.getStepResourceName())            println("\t\tStep Start time: " + st.getStepStartTime())            println("\t\tStep Duration: " + st.getStepDuration())            println("\t\tStep Status: " + st.getStepStatus())            println("\t\tStep # of inserts: " + st.getStepInsertCount())            println("\t\tStep # of updates: " + st.getStepUpdateCount()+'\n')      }      println("\t")}

• AJI Report with Nat Ryan–Discussion about Game Development with Corona Labs SDK

- by Jeff Julian
We sat down with Nat Ryan of Fully Croisened to talk about Game Development and the Corona Labs framework. The Corona SDK is a platform that allows you to write mobile games or applications using the Lua language and deploy to the iOS and Android platforms. One of the great features of Corona is the compilation output is a native application and not a hybrid application. Corona is very centered around their developer community and there are quite a few local meetups focused on the helping other developers use the platform. The community and Corona site offers a great number of resources and samples that will help you get started in a matter of a few days. If you are into Game Development and want to move towards mobile, or a business developer looking to turn your craft back into a hobby, check out this recording and Corona Labs to get started. Download the Podcast Site: AJI Report – @AJISoftware Site: Fully Croisened Twitter: @FullyCroisened Site: Corona Labs
