  Is there a best practice for preventing mixed eol-styles in a subversion repository. I know that svn:eol-style=native can be set as an auto-prop, but I would have to ensure that it was set for all committers. I'm also reluctant to do a retrospective, repository-wide change of svn:eol-style if there is a less invasive solution.

  So assuming that in our work environment we've decided that the One True Faith forbids this: if (something) doSomething(); And instead we want: if (something) { doSomething(); } Is there a tool that will do that automagically? Awesomest would be to have eclipse just do it, but since we're really just recovering from one ex-employee that thought he was too pretty for coding conventions, a less-friendly tool that would do it right just once would suffice.

  I use pthreads_attr_getthreadsizes() to get default stack size of one thread, 8MB on my machine. But when I create 8 threads and allocate a very large stack size to them, say hundreds of MB, the program crash. So, I guess, shall ("Number of threads" x "stack size of per thread") shall less than a value(virtual memory size)?

Will the following code create a copy of the string (less the first character) in memory? myStr = myStr[1:] I'm hoping it just refers to a different location in the same internal buffer.   This is less a question and more a record of what I've found around the AVCam sample code provided by Apple for iOS4 and 5 camera manipulation. The symptoms of the problem for me were that my app would crash on launching the AVCamViewController after taking around 5-10 photos. I ran the app through the memory leak profiler and there were no apparent leaks but on inspection with the Activity Monitor I discovered that something called mediaserverd was increasing by 17Mb every time the camera was launched and when it reached ~100Mb the app crashed with multiple low memory warnings.

• Faster integer division when denominator is known?

  hi I am working on GPU device which has very high division integer latency, several hundred cycles. I am looking to optimize divisions. All divisions by denominator which is in a set { 1,3,6,10 }, however numerator is a runtime positive value, roughly 32000 or less. due to memory constraints, lookup table is not option. Can you think of alternatives? I have thought of computing float point inverses, and using those to multiply numerator. Thanks

Weren't for them being uppercase, there would be less indication of this outside of our knowledge of the sentence. • Why does git branch -t fail with "Not tracking: ambiguous information"?

  When I try to create a new branch tracking a remote branch, I get this: che@nok ~/prj/git-ipc $ git branch -t test main/some_remote_branch error: Not tracking: ambiguous information for ref refs/remotes/main/some_remote_branch The source seems to somehow search for branches to track and throws me out because it finds less more than one, but I don't exactly get what it's looking for since I already told it what to track on the command line. Can anybody tell me what's going on and how to fix it?
