  • Get email address from OpenId using Jboss/Seam

    I'm using the org.jboss.seam.security.openid.OpenId class to login user's to my seam webapp. Currently I'm saving the validatedId (openid.getValidatedId()) into the database, and asking the user to provide their own email address and first and last name after logging in. I'm using Google, Yahoo, AOL, and MyOpenID for the openId Providers. Is there any way to retrieve the email address and or first/last name of the user without having them enter this in manually?

On the server I want to generate Excel report with POI and let user save that file on their local machine.   • Is ActiveMQ unreliable?

    Hello, We have been using ActiveMQ 5.2 in our distributed enterprise application for about 3 months. During that time, we have experienced debilitating failures at least twice weekly. In particular, we see: 1) Topic publisher has its connection arbitrarily closed and experiences EOF on attempt to publish. Note well that this issue is not a function of some timeout. It does not correlate reliably with any inactivity. 2) Queue listeners never receive message. Message simply sits on Queue. 2) is much rarer (hardly ever) than 1). In both cases, the failures are highly intermittent-- they cannot be reliably reproduced through any testing usage pattern. Also, there are no errors or warning in the AMQ logs. Have others experienced similar problems? Is there an opinion that some other JMS provider is more reliable? thanks, Joe

    I'm wondering if its possible to configure Intellij's smart insert to suggest hamcrest and mockito dsl idioms when in test classes. Really I'm looking for something like eclipse's 'static favorites', so that when I hit ctrl + space or ctrl +shift +space the idioms are present. In general is it possible to configure autocomplete/smart insert or the suggestions balloon for that matter. I've looked through the settings without much luck but could easily have overlooked something.

  • reversing keys/values - create new instance of HashMap

    I’ve got an existing instance of HashMap simply called sale (it is Map) I use it to log customers and items history. Is there a way to create a new instance of HashMap, that effectively reverses this usage? i.e will show each item purchased as a unique key and the corresponding value as a String set of the customers that have purchased that product. I suspect there is a simple process using keySet() in some way to iterate over the sales map but I just can’t see how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Hibernate: Walk millions of rows and don't leak memory

    The below code functions, but Hibernate never lets go of its grip of any object. Calling session.clear() causes exceptions regarding fetching a joined class, and calling session.evict(currentObject) before retrieving the next object also fails to free the memory. Eventually I exhaust my heap space.     According to the documentation the Android OS can kill the activity at the rear of the backstack. So, say for example I have an app and open the Main Activity (let's call it Activity A). In this public activity class I declare and initialize a public static variable (let's call it "foo"). In Activity A's onCreate() method I then change the value of "foo." From Activity A the user starts another activity within my app called Activity B. Variable "foo" is used in Activity B. Activity B is then paused after the user navigates to some other activities in other apps. Eventually, after a memory shortage occurs, Activity A then Activity B can be killed. After the user navigates back to my app it restarts (actually "recreates") activity B. What happens: 1) Will variable "foo" at this point have the value that was set to it when Activity A's onCreate() method ran? 2) Variable "foo" does not exist? 3) Variable "foo" exists and but is now the initialized value and not the value set in Activity A's onCreate() method?

    I just found an interesting situation. Suppose you have some SwingWorker (I've made this one vaguely reminiscent of my own): public class AddressTreeBuildingWorker extends SwingWorker<Void, NodePair> { private DefaultTreeModel model; public AddressTreeBuildingWorker(DefaultTreeModel model) { } @Override protected Void doInBackground() { // Omitted; performs variable processing to build a tree of address nodes. } @Override protected void process(List<NodePair> chunks) { for (NodePair pair : chunks) { // Actually the real thing inserts in order. model.insertNodeInto(parent, child, parent.getChildCount()); } } private static class NodePair { private final DefaultMutableTreeNode parent; private final DefaultMutableTreeNode child; private NodePair(DefaultMutableTreeNode parent, DefaultMutableTreeNode child) { this.parent = parent; this.child = child; } } } If the work done in the background is significant then things work well - process() is called with relatively small lists of objects and everything is happy. Problem is, if the work done in the background is suddenly insignificant for whatever reason, process() receives a huge list of objects (I have seen 1,000,000, for instance) and by the time you process each object, you have spent 20 seconds on the Event Dispatch Thread, exactly what SwingWorker was designed to avoid. In case it isn't clear, both of these occur on the same SwingWorker class for me - it depends on the input data, and the type of processing the caller wanted. Is there a proper way to handle this? Obviously I can intentionally delay or yield the background processing thread so that a smaller number might arrive each time, but this doesn't feel like the right solution to me.

    Hi, I'm working on a xml schema resolver and I'm using JAXB with XMLSchema.xsd. I experience problems with JAXB, because I don't get classes for all the top level elements. For example for <xs:element name="maxLength" id="maxLength" type="xs:numFacet"> I do not get a class MaxLength or anything like that. Only NumFacet exists.
